Green is often thought of as one of the best colors for Enchantments in Magic: the Gathering, and as you'll see in this video there's some statistical basis for that! This list is incredibly stacked, showcasing just how great green is for Enchantments.

What do you think will be in the Top 10?
Survival of the fittest, sylvan library & hardened scales. You and your content is amazing 5/5, don't u let anyone ever try and make you think differently.
Rancor
compost, parallel lives, virtue of strength
Sylvan Library, Oath of Druids, Dryad of the Elysian Grove, Wilderness Reclamation, Tribute to the World Tree, the green Leyline, some green enchant land ramp card/mana fixer. I can't see the new leyline being in the top 10 already.
Oath of druids, rancor, earthcraft, squirrel's nest
Holy cow, starting off with Survival of the Fittest in number ten, you know it's going to be a stacked list.
Kind of funny how the Rancor debate of 2G vs G wasn't able to settle on 1G
Right? It's funny, cause it seems like as a 1g it would have been a balanced but very usable card with some applications here and there. As it stands, it's incredibly powerful at that rate, and considered almost broken. Not on that "2 card combo" level, but just SO much value for a single green.
Something to consider, different colors have mana available at different rates... So a Green 2 mana card is maybe as easy to cast as a blue or white 1 mana card, if that makes sense.
Correction on carpet of flowers: the card has been errata'd to state "At the beginning of each of your main phases, if you haven’t added mana with this ability this turn, you may add X mana of any one color, where X is the number of Islands target opponent controls.", so you can only add the mana once per turn, but you can choose which main phase to add the mana.
power level errata?
@@jeremyphillips3087It's to try and make the old phase abilities work in the current rules
U know the list is gonna be insane, if #10 is survival of the fittest
12:26 My favorite part about Sylvan Library is the ruling with dredge. 😂
My second favorite is its ruling with Brainstorm. 😂
Liking the card transitions 👌
Rancor holds a special place in my heart for being all around perfect.
It's an aura that solves the weakness of the card type, gives a valuable keyword to creatures in its color identity and even some attack to make use of it all without being too oppressive or bloated.
Not to mention the fantastic name, art and flavour.
Top five most iconic flavor text in the entire game, and I don't think it's 5.
@@jml6263 It's a classic example of Magic flavour transcending being nothing more than words on cardboard. Love it
I love Rancor. It just feels good to play lol
These are all cool but my favourite will always be Mirri's Guile 😊
Classic card. I appreciate that while green might not draw a lot (at least at the time) Mirri's Guile allowed me to dig a bit and optimize my limited draws.
YES! use it in all my commander decks with green (7 fetch lands too)
legit surprised not to see Food Chain. Unless thats more of an EDH card.
It's been good in other formats -- Goblin Food Chain was a pretty big thing in legacy about 15 years back, but it hasn't done near enough to make this list.
Edh only card at this point
Oath of Nissa being banned anywhere for any amount of time is a wild thought to me. It seems so tame.
Obviously Oath of Druids would be insanely high on the list, but I was not expecting Choke. Surprisingly.
I like the midnight uploads so I can watch it while I relax 😢
No reason you can't wait until midnight to watch.

Sylvan Library + Abundance was my favorite green combo of all times.
Carpet of flowers has been erattaed to say "if you haven't added mana with this ability this turn" so now its less powerful than how it was originally worded.
Back in the mana burn days it would have a possible downside, but without that it's even more broken for 1 greeen
If I had a nickel for each 1G enchantment from Exodus banned in Legacy, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that there are two of them.
Oooh, fancy card flipping.
Choke and Carpet of Flowers feel like pseduo-mirrors of the blue enchantment Lifetap.
I have to ask because I've been a fan of the channel for a little over a year now:
What is it about River Hoopoe that you love so much? Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun with it in Amonket/Hour Limited, but I'm just curious why it seems to be your favorite!
He loves birds :)
In Exodus they really turned up the power of enchantments to 11, my gosh.
I wish you would have put the point breakdown for #1.
I honestly really thought that Oath of Druids would be #1, I mean come on, it has plenty of Vintage points! Maybe not "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)" points, but still.
Sylvan Library is such a bizarre design but I love it. And if you play it against me in Commander, you'd better not be a coward and draw both cards. Pay the life!
Oath of Druids, Sylvan Library, Up the Beanstalk, Survival of the Fittest, Hardened Scales, I'm not sure what else. Maybe Wild Growth or Utopia Sprawl, Destiny Spinner or Rancor would sneak in.
Sylvan Library combined with God-Eternal Kefnet and Time Walk or similar is great for infinite turns
I think up the beanstalk will be in the top 5 if you revisit this in a year or two.
15:38
Woah, hold up a minute, you don't get Carpet mana EACH main phase, it's each main phase in which you haven't used it yet! Not quite THAT OP, still a powerhouse!
Printed text is not clear.
I thought food chain and/or aluren would’ve made it~
Great video, very surprising #1
I always thought oath of druids original text makes sense.
hating blue is good
I wonder how much play a White version of Rancor that gave +0/+2 and Vigilance would see nowdays
Are there enough playables for a Top 10 Colorless Enchantments? Or are we gonna have to get THAT granular about it and count enchantments that become colorless like Ixalan flip lands or cards with devoid?
I think "Top 10 Non-Artifact Non-Creature Non-land Colorless Cards" is already a overly narrow list. Once MH3 and its new additions has had some time to shine it would be a good topic though.
3:25 cast.
Surprised I'd never even heard of the cards at number 1. And I thought the one that lets you untap a land for every creature you play would have gotten on here based on Elf power alone.
You probably only play edh then, considering choke and carpet have been all-stars for at least the past 15 years...
@@gabbathehut3235 played a lot of modern on MTGO back in the 2011-2013 range. Never ran into them, but maybe the needed set for Choke hadn't been released there yet.
@@rajamicitrenti1374 carpet was never modern legal
Does Dryad of the ilysion Grove let you play additional non basic lands too? Because that would greatly help out my gate deck because unless I have a gond gate all my lands are tapped when coming into play.
Yes it does
Gond gate more like goat gate
You can also use Spelunking, from the recent set "The Lost Caverns of Ixalan"
I'm a dummy. I was convinced "Fastbond" would have blitzed this list, but being legal in only "old school" and "vintage" let it down.
Ngl the time change is a bummer for me personally because watching the vids with my morning coffee was a nice little routine I had going, but if it's better for the channel I guess I'll have to suck it up.
That said, calling survival for top1
You can save this one for tomorrow morning
I too was surprised to find Survival at number 10.
Not gonna lie, Rancor at 5 shocked me, I assumed it was higher
The original printing of Sylvan Library isn't as bad as the version with an activated ability.
That version is completely terrible.
Earthcraft? Not on here? Wow. It's so busted it's banned in everything except EDH where it is basically an instant win.
So, that's the kind of card that would make one of my "Most Overpowered" Lists, but it just can't compete when looking at competitive data. It is no doubt powerful, and had to be banned once upon a time because it was part of so many good two-card combos.
Also, it's not banned in Vintage and no one plays it, and many think it would be fine to unban in Legacy. Most think the only reason it remains banned there is because it's on the reserved list.
@@NizzahonMagic That's fair and it did get banned so fast that we never got to see it much. People saw Squirrel Nest and that was it but it does so much more LOL. Ah well I have my one for Commander and I swear it's on par with Gaea's Cradle in my elf ball deck it's bonkers :)
Wilderness Reclamation will be eventually unbanned in Pioneer, and then it will see action once again 😮🎉😊
I’m venturing:
Sylvan library
Oath of druids
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
Then after that I don’t know because I’m so commander focused
carpet of flowers does not give you mana in both main phases. Only once.
Paused the video to once again guess before the reveal...so here goes:
5 Library
4 Oath
3 Fastbond
2 Earthcraft
1 Survival
Survival is only 10? That actually surprised me a lot. Didn't take ban/resection into account though.
The best part of these is how perfectly you can skip to *Hi I'm Nizzahon* after *This video is sponsored by CardKingdom* and right to the list after *Here's a quick reminder on how I score cards in these videos*
You're truly the master of these top 10s! Love the videos!
I like Season of Growth.
I don't love the time change, and premieres drive me up the wall. Hope it helps with growth but just throwing my hat in the ring.
Also, there's a brief bit with no graphics between number 8 and 7.
Man Fastbond gets hosed by being banned/ not legal anywhere. So many of these are just worse versions of it.
A couple years ago it got unrestricted in Vintage and saw next to no play...
Rancor!!
Hey I'm cool with the time change but making me click on a video I can't watch is obnoxious
I also don't really understand this change. If I see one of your vids in my subscriptions, I'd like to watch it then and there. If it comes up ahead of when it's available, it's more likely to get lost in the shuffle under new stuff.
Agreed
All you quit it were lucky for info and he'll address the issue your having I'm sure
Been a subscriber for years now and, in all honesty, clicking on the video only to discover I could not watch it was a heart shattering surprise.
Obviously it’s something I could get used to, but was slightly disappointed upon my first noticing.
@@Rexciliousheart-shattering is pretty wildly dramatic lol. I’m sure you’ll be okay. But yeah I don’t like the premiere feature either, just in general.
Choke
Hardened Scales wording is terrible. Why not just say "If one or more +1/+1 counters would be placed on a creature you control, put an additional +1/+1 counter on that creature."
Isn't it worded that way because it's a replacement effect? Either way it makes sense and isn't that hard to read.
Because your wording is nonfunctional. The first part looks like a replacement effect and the second part looks like a triggered ability. You also don't "add" or "place" counters; you *put* them.
@JasonOshinko funny you said this I was going to replace add with put.
What up my nizza.
