Is this a 2020 Honda Civic Si Hatchback?

  • The Honda Civic Si for the past few hears has been only offered as a sedan or coupe. Is this 2020 Civic Sport Touring like a hatchback Si? Under the hood is a 1.5L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 180 HP & is mated to a 6-speed transmission. It's exterior has been cleaned up a bit with redesigned front and rear fascias. On the inside you get the versatility of tons of cargo space and more upscale interior. Is this 2020 Honda Civic Sport Touring hatchback as close to a Civic Si hatchback?

    I have the exact same Sonic Grey Pearl hatchback I got on New Year's Eve and it looks better in person! Enough room for the passengers and the trunk is pretty spacious. I love the adaptive headlights and how it brightens up the road at night. While it's certainly not as fast as an Si, it goes pretty quick once the turbo kicks in.

    Hey Raiti, I actually own the Sport Touring trim with an manual gearbox! At the age of 23, I love driving this car as my first ever new car! I was worried about the CVT longevity, but I think I made the right decision with an manual until Honda develops a better automatic transmission that is an hybrid or even electric transmission. You cannot beat the practicality of the Hatchback.

I could care less about a sunroof and heated seats. Just more crap to break over time. 6 or 7 grand can fill up the fuel tank more than a few times.

    • @jjacob25101

      @@Tsalinger Bingo! For 2020, they added all the goodies the Sport Hatchback lacked for years, that the Non turbo 2.0L engine Sport Sedan/Coupe last year in 2019. That car is even a better value and more reliability, durability, and longevity if the 20 less HP is fine with you. The Sport Touring Hatchback is merely the luxury version of the Sport Hatchback, if you must have, and are willi h to spend the dinero for all the extra amenities.

    • @Bazoo-1968
      @Bazoo-1968 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kevin Norris I wish it had the LED turn signals in the mirror. Other than that, no - I have no complaints. The sound enhancement in Sport Mode isn’t too terrible, the safety tech works great and their sensitivity can be adjusted or turned off (there was one magazine review that criticized the automatic high beams). Also, the shorter ratio in 6th does make the adaptive cruise work better for highway cruising. It really is a double personality car: total highway cruiser with tons of safety / high performance howler that asks you to give it more when you run it out. I am very happy with my car!

    • @kevinnorris6558
      @kevinnorris6558 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bazoo 1968 If I bought it, I would disable that automatic braking feature they have. There is this feature where the car will brake if it detects an oncoming collision, but I’ve heard that this feature tends to goof. Out of nowhere, your car will slam on the brakes and that would be a big problem where I live. Other than that, I’m impressed with all the car offers for the price tag.

    • @Bazoo-1968
      @Bazoo-1968 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The forward collision system hasn’t done that for me at all. But it has a button over on the left side of the steering wheel where you can turn it off. So on the two times I’ve taken it out on two lane blacktop roads, I’ve turned that, the road departure mitigation, and traction control all off (those are the three buttons on the left). Also: you could be thinking of the road departure mitigation system. That has been sensitive, but like the other nanny-tech, you can adjust its sensitivity. I hope this helps.

      Yes. The CVT is available, because the market majority wants an automatic. This one, unlike some other brands I won't mention will last quite a while with a CVT, if you change the transmission fluid about 40K miles, and don't abuse/thrash the car, but nowhere close to how long a manual can last, like their engines.

    I have a 2017 Hatch Sport Touring CVT but wouldn’t have hesitated to upgraded to the Si if it was available as I wish it had more power.
    I have little interest in the Type R though as It’s way to aggressively styled. (It’s not for everyone)

      Called a dealer addendum. Don't let that scare you. When I bought my Frontier they had one adding 3K for "market adjustment" You just have to be uglier then they are. I generally put my hand on that sticker, look at the sales person and tell them I don't even see this. I will negotiate off MSRP as if the addendum was not even there. Hate buying cars. Its such a game. Ended up getting it a dealer invoice with no doc fees. Some cars are harder to work good deals. But I would never pay over MSRP. Never. Dealer add on's are gimmicks and usually add little to no value.

The Sport Touring Hatchback is there, if you like the Sport Hatchback, but willig to spend the extra money for the LED headlights, mirror turn signals, leather heated seats, sunroof, heated rear seats, right side seatback map pocket, rear seat center folding armrest with cupholders, and the 12 speaker, 540 Watt stereo system with onboard GPS, and the electric adjust front seats, and lighted visor vanity mirrors, automatic dimming rear view mirror, and maybe a few other things like rain sensing automatic windshield wipers.
