- Today I finally bought some Tesla's, If you know me you know I don't like electric cars one bit! However I decided to give them a try to see what all the fuss is about. Here is my 100% "Unbiased" thoughts. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY NOT EVER BUY A TESLA.. ( Sorry Elon)

That noise is great but sat at a 100 mph on the motor way with the double glazing up is lovely

I’ve been a petrol head my whole life, we bought a model Y performance a year ago as addition to simply add miles and avoid congestion charging, it’s doing about 20k a year. We’ve had no issues, no squeaks, nothing, charges overnight for £3-£4. I didn’t think we’d like it, but it has impressed me. Especially so driving in and out of London everyday. It’s relaxing to drive, yet has enough torque to leave most for dead! I just see it in much the same way as an iPhone. Also, the interior is holding up well, at 21k the bolsters look new, white seats look new. My autobiography seats at just 5k were showing signs of wear. Also still on first set of tyres, so the savings so far have been massive in a year, close to £5k. Depreciation, value at webuyanycar is £37,500, bought it for £61k. So that’s not great, but the intention is to do at least 100k in it. Time will tell.
Websites such as webuyanycar often show lower offers than what Tesla would offer themselves, you should do an online valuable with Tesla.
I like your videos but that call in the start was rude AF, I've booked a test drive before it took 5 minutes.

Fully agree, with you, a car should be fun to drive and make nice noises. They also need to be engaging, changing through the gears, knowing the clutch etc.
I went with my friend to collect his dads tesla and it was similar experience. Register at the desk, get the card key and your told where it’s parked amongst the other hundreds of teslas in the carpark. Easy but for the money should be a more special experience.
It's literally; order a tesla on the app, get it at the center by using your phone. I don't need my hand held through buying, it's not a super car. I'd take the easy process over sitting in a stealership for 3 hours while they offer you everything under the sun. Maybe expect more for a plaid? For model 3 and Y I don't really care about putting a cover and unveiling it for me LOL

I agree can’t beat good old noise from a good exhaust note that’s probably why rich rebuilds did it amongst other reasons 😂top quality as always mark.

Rich did it because of Tesla's niceness of rebuilt salvage Teslas being embraced with open arms on their Supercharger network.
If they won't let you charge it, it's a massive electric paperweight. ICE it was at least usable.
I’ve been saying it for years and I’m glad you mentioned it Mark they are soulless electric cars. Not proper petrol head if you only own electric car plus you can’t do track days.
Everyone should own a V8 once in your life. Doesn’t matter how poo my day at work was soon as fire up C63s push exhaust flap button and drive home I can’t stop grinning plus transformed into happier mood ☺️

I think people are over hyping the noise of internal combustion engines and making it a deal killer for electric cars and let's not forget that most people are driving boring diesel and petrol cars that are far from sounding exciting. I'd rather have the silence of an electric car over the droning noise of a diesel car.
Mark you have touched a nerve with this one we got my wife a Tesla model Y and I hate it, I hate the regenerative braking, the look of it the way it handles, lack of noise supposed to do 315 miles. It only get about 215, the glass roof has cracked going to have to wait weeks for a new one, the insurance is 2 & a half times the price of the Q5 it tries to control the journey and randomly puts the brakes on, the phone key thing works when it wants it took me longer to order a new iPhone than it did this car, it creaks and rattles after 12 months, and the good news is we only have 3 years left on the lease happy to do you a deal on the remaking 3 years 😂
Regen brakes is so weird, mileage range never seem realistic

That "engine braking" is "one pedal driving". You just have to use one pedal to speed up or slow down. Only if you have to break hard, you use the break pedal.
It takes some adjustment, it took me about 3 hours and now I miss it when I drive other cars.
Can you turn a wheelie bin into a go cart and full send it off the ramp?

You make a lot of good points in this video but the deal breaker for me on top of everything that you said is when you buy the car and it only comes with what was it 80 miles range you would expect it to have a full charge for 45 grand

No he was only charging it up to 80% for normal daily driving it will get up to 300 miles on a full 100% charge, the 80 you saw was 80% not 89miles mate just an FYI
@@jasonhodgson2528 you clearly did not watch the video my friend when Mark pulls out of the Tesla showroom with the it has 69 miles range that is not 80% the Green Bar is only on 20% maximum and that is how he got the car after paying £45,000 for it and I stated it should have come with a full charge

I have tesla for almost 2 years, best car I ever had and I had around 50 cars in my life.

Note a tesla fan but Audi and Porsche are rocking it with their EVs. Also unless you're faster than the speed of sound it's nice to be able to get full torque quietly

Can be a good daily for non petrol heads. However the quality is super bad, bad interior, bad paintwork, very bad breaks, tons of software and electrical issues and so on....

It will be tough for me to switch. I love the V8 sound my truck has. Plus I don’t think we are there all the way just yet. Tesla does have it figured out though. Now watch me go electric next year 😂😂

The batteries can safely rapid charge to 80%. After that it must be trickle charged and balanced. That last 20% can take an hour.

I agree with the sound of a car, it helps if you have a c63 or a Lambo though! However you don't miss the sound of a diesel! 😂

What do you about petrol engines getting converted to a hydrogen I did watch a video showing in Japan Toyota is doing it and the sound is there nd the performance Mrs tsuchia was testing it though

Another reason not to buy one. You can't choose where you have it serviced. Let us know what your experience is like when something goes wrong with it, because it will. Tesla's are quite low on the car reliability ranking.
gone from porsche petrol to eletric twingo van -- yes odd // restoring old barn france // range uuuum real headache is worrying where to charge especially in busy cities like paris broken busy broken ... then waiting whether you want to or not //
as a second car IF you can park at home ok for local trips // electric charger on timer electric cheap midnight til 6am // would I go any great distance ---- NO once onto red which is about one eighth battery - if driving careful full range put your foot down half the range --- if you stop on red area battery and switch off you cant start again -- even though thats still another 40km range apparently // got caught out looked like a complete prat --- then not easy to push the car ..... / for shopping local mini trips useful // when barn finished will go back to porsche maybe hybrid probably petrol // no sound well some sound but you get used to it /// in fact more dangerous for pedestrians who just walk out without knowing you are there .... happened a few times in towns --- maybe for 50 per cent of drivers this would suit -- low maintenanace less to go wrong battery on lease so dont pay to change it ---- electric good and bad basically ... -- interested in porsches development of new lower carbon fuels who knows ..

I just can’t see why we can just like both. The electric cars for the tech & the mind bending acceleration they produce. And diesel/petrol cars are fantastic for the noise, the raw power of a v8 you can’t beat it. I think both can put a smile on your face. Put your foot down in a high performance electric car & you will have fun.
I think of it this way, Tesla is the car equivalent to a life like sex doll, I’d still rather have a real woman with all her flaws.

I drive my bosses performance model Tesla for work. I can see why people like them but I don't want one. One pedal driving is pretty good. It's quick. It's way too low and scrapes the bottom too easily. The touch screen is stupid. Dials and switches that you can find in the dark are much better. The braking glitch that slams the brakes on when it sees it a shadow is dangerous.(had it happen twice). The car is innovative which I like but it's not ready for release. Too many glitches, problems, breakdowns. It needs Toyota to finish it off and get it ready for market. I'd prefer a gas guzzling V8 anyday, but I know we'll all be driving EVs soon.

Bit unfair on the braking. That Tesla was on winter tires and the rest not. Agree it's heavy but it's also light for an electric car in its class.
As a petrolhead, if my employer bought me a Tesla, I'd be looking for a new job. A model y might be slightly better than a G-Wiz (another awful contraption), but only just. Can't think of anything worse to have on the driveway, including a tonne of horse manure. Because at least that would be useful.

Thats what I've been saying about Teslas for me I just find them so boring and characterless and when you get more options when ordering a phone it just means they are all the exact same and thats not what I like in a car, electric is alright but Teslas in particular are just boring
I wouldn’t buy any EV, the tech isn’t there yet.
Only lease them, at least you can hand them back when the battery is knackered - saving you £10,000s
Get a proper quick one and the acceleration will change your mind. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds quick!

If you get flowers, champagne or flowers from your dealership, you already paid for it but you just don't realize it.
I got a test drive in 10 seconds online.
If you get anytbing extra from a dealership like flowers or champagne then you've effectively paid for it through their pricing for a car which would cost less without the fluffy stuff.
Also the no noise thing as a reason for not buying an EV, sounds like a spoilt toddler tbh. Genuine reasons are lack of range for a certain lifestyle, plus rapid chargers are like the wild west(minus Tesla Superchargers).
