@@porsche928racing8 Indeed. I'm generally a fan of this channel's content but I downvoted this clip because it's a total waste of time comparing retail to trade/part-ex prices.

Can’t stop laughing, the disguises themselves could have got you arrested 😂. Obviously Tom knows his stuff and it shows that overall you’ve actually got a good return on most of your cars. How you can have done that to an Escort Cosworth though is sacrilege, but I’m a fair person and will give you the 4k for it😆😆
As an ex wbac employee, the system used is limited in the sense that it cant recognise rare cars. For example, it didnt recognise that the STO wasnt a standard Huracan with 10s of thousands in upgrades. Had Mark contacted the wbac prior to his valuation, the underwriters could have provided a specialist quote on such cars which are more accurate. This is what we would do with rare cars. I have had a Lamborghini Diablo, Ferrari 458 and and Mclaren 720 in for valuations and the underwriters were used for all of them. Wbac do not force anyone to sell there car with them, the prices are lower than private sells because they take the risk of buying a car which could have many potential problems. You cannot expect the the luxury of being able to sell your car in 10 minutes and expect top dollar.
I unfortunately had to take my fiesta st3 to them yesterday, just needed a quick sale to cover bills after losing my job and lost around £4k compared to if I had the time to sell it myself, they know people are desperate when they go there and just use it to give as little as possible, absolutely gutted to have to let my car go but had no choice
I hate to break it to you Mark, but their system knows what it's doing. It's there like a pawn shop to take advantage of those needing quick cash. No matter what it is. You're right. There prices are ridiculous, anytime I sell a car I always have a look what they’d offer just for the laugh. I sold a range once for £6k they offered £1700 🙈🤣
Great video, so funny but worth pointing out Carl would offer you a fraction of that price too buy them in. As anyone who's tried to sell a car knows there's a big difference between the retail value and what a dealer with offer you.
Sold them a rusty mk2 st with blown engine, dead clutch, seized turbo and missing coolant hoses for 3k. Only bought the car for £300. Got it running (cracked liner), drove it there no mot etc. went and bought a half decent one with the money 🤣
Their evaluations were surprisingly fair and way more than I anticipated. If you put any of those cars into an auction, youd probably get close to their evaluations after the fees.

Yeah, you need to go equipped there with all the bits in order, but it works well if you don’t want to sell to private people. It’s a great option to auto trader hassle
Tom Hartley's price is retail, AKA what HE would sell it for, not what he would give. There's a huge difference, which is what the average person doesn't factor in. There's a difference between retail and trade price, the dealership's margin.
They are part of the same group BCA auction so cars go straight there when you buy a car from BCA it doesnt let you do a webuyanycar valuation. Also cars they like are sold on at Cinch which is their sellinh group
