About me ❤
My name is Hellynn and live in the US, but I've traveled to Korea (where I'm from) to undergo multiple rounds of IVF. Being 40 and trying to bring children into the world is hard, but I also have a condition called diminished ovarian reserve so I'm doing back-to-back IVF egg retrievals.
Navigating this world of infertility is definitely a challenge - a million new acronyms, hormones and protocols to learn - it's a lot. So I thought I'd just talk about everything I've been learning for the women out there who have had similar struggles. I'm also happy to share info with anyone who is interested in traveling to Korea for IVF, since it's much more cost efficient + high success rates here.
I am treating this YT channel as my diary, talking about the ups and downs of my journey to motherhood so that one day, hopefully, my babies will see how they were created... with fierce, enduring strength and love.

jsyk, I'm turning 32 this June (2024) and unfortunately just found out that i have an AMH of only 4.55 pmol/L, which is equivalent to about 0.35 ng/dL in the States (only been married for a year and has only started ttc for half a year). Have started IVF about a couple of weeks ago. Getting ready for egg retrieval 2 days ltr. Lots of baby dust to Hellynn and whoever out there whos going through the same.

Great news! What was your dosage if you don’t mind sharing?
We started with 225iu of Follitrope (basically FSH) for a few days, then scanned and upped the dosage to 225iu in the morning and 150iu in the evening... then back down to 150iu for the last day before my trigger.
Thank you! I was asking because I’m currently doing round three of egg freezing and my doc decided to increase my dose from 200iu to 250 and I was a bit worried that it would fry my eggs (I’m DOR but been responding much better on the 200 dose than 300). Seeing your dosage gives me hope that mine is not too high for my DOR self!

What is your FSH value?
Last I checked, it went down to 10.
Does more dosage make more follicles grow?
@@xwzzzzz4795 not for everyone! For some ppl with low AMH it fries the eggs!
@@hellynn_j I see. I may start IVF in a month, doctor said she will give me the highest dosage, I’m a bit scared 😳
@@xwzzzzz4795 hmm well from my experience they keep monitoring to see how you respond to the drugs so you definitely should communicate with the doctor if you feel any pain. Good luck!!🍀

@@xwzzzzz4795 the high dose worked for me. Initially we started with mini IVF level dosage and got 1-2 eggs. When we upped the dosage we got 5! You never know til you try.
