Why do people do that?? We have had campgrounds to ourselves as well then some random campers set up right next to ya when there is a giant campground with plenty of spots!! It is the weirdest thing ...

Thanks for the review, but all campgrounds now a days seem to have people partying until very late on the weekends. During the week is when they're most quiet but, no guarantees. The idiots are the ones leaving bad reviews because they got told to simmer down or the sheriff/rangers will be called. Up in the High Sierra's, I watched the Sheriff's deputies kick two families out after they were told repeatedly to keep it down even before 10 o'clock because people come to hear nature and not them cussing and playing their music really loud. You should've heard the cheers from the campsites around them. What was it Erik said? " Have Respect for yourself. Place and Others". Words to live by. Vibes !
You must not love your dog very much. Sam's Club Special Kibble, are you serious. Bad enough you're feeding him kibble, but Sam's club special kibble. Do you snd your little buddy a favor and go raw. It's a bit more expensive but will pay you back two fold in less vet bills and you'll have a much happier and healthy companion. Also a lot less poop.

We're in Crestline, and absolutely LOVE the quiet up here. I'm going to try that restaurant once everything calms down up here, it looks awesome! The coyote noises in the video totally woke up my dogs. 😂
Been to Serrano a few times. The first time sucked. It was on a tiny site next to a bathroom, near the entrance, and there were kids everywhere; one of them had some type of social disorder and yelled and screamed into the night, like he was being tortured. I drank half a bottle of cheap, bubbly, pink wine and took a Benadryl to get me through that one. 2 stars. The next time I had a spacious, quiet site up in the 90 range, regarding site numbers, and it was awesome. I was mostly surrounded by giant campers, so everyone was inside at night and there was no noise. Got to hike up to PCT and shoot some video. 5 stars.
That was so much fun. I never realized that there were campgrounds in Big Bear, but I'll be making a reservation at Serrano next year for a weekend. I'm guessing I could get some fishing done in the lake you were at, too, so happy days. Thank you for sharing.

You did the bluff reserve hike just in time, and everything looking out at look out point is burned looking out into in the valley. So you probably have the last known video of the beauty before the Line fire too it out. Bluff lake is still there just everything below it is gone now.

the holy grail of the campground bathroom has been found in a scott dispernser-soap. I liked the proximity of Serrano to the lake. Looked fun. Yeah where is the Palmolive? or is that only for the lower rated campgrounds? Last time I went to big bear was during oktoberfest and we all went to the german restaurant, gruibbed down and off course imbibed on some imported brews.
Nice! Theres some really fun and challenging offroading trails out there and a lot of dispersed camping out there if you don’t want to pay or need toilets.
Love the videos and new too your channel and really digging it. Want to get into camping with the family and these videos do help.. maybe you already have it but maybe a walk through of what you have? Carry and take?
When a man begins a sentence with " any man goes jumps in a ditch with me is a good man" would automatically be so cool tool! 💀🕳. At this point the bear is the last scary thing out there!
HAHA I dig the campsite comparisons. One suggestion for doing the tape measure stuff and not feel like a creep is to wear a orange vest and hardhat while doing it, maybe even talking into a walkie talkie randomly. Not sure how close to Big Bear but check out Scotts Flat Landing or Castle Cragg. Keep having fun and making these awesome vids. Give pups a pat for me and everyone else smiling about the road dog!
If you're not from socal you never woulda guessed there's a desert on the other side of the mountain range. Lucerne Valley, Mojave Desert, high desert. I will say we high desert residents have the fastest way up to big bear going up the back way through Lucerne.

I think the mullet not working means it’s working 😂. You’re gonna have to ask him his rating. Kobe carries his own stuff so I don’t have to. Usually a small water, a bowl, and 💩 baggies. Sometimes camera equipment if he’s feeling up to it.
Hanna flats use to be a nice campground. Parents would take us there often as children. They had flush toilets back then. Now Hanna flat is not as nice. People that camp there now seem to be disrespectful with loud music etc. We don't camp there much anymore. Sad. Most people (at least for my family) go to the mountains to escape all the noise of the city life but it is more difficult to find that peace and tranquility now.
Umm, maggots? Not unless there was something dead hang8ng above their tent. Worms or maybe grubs but not maggots. Also, the stuff falling on their tent was probably pine needles. They better just stay home to be on the safe side. I'll happily stay at any of those campgrounds, they look beautiful.

Pine knot is a hidden gem. Ive had a lot of good camping trips there. Except last year. Six campsites converged into the one right next to us. More of their friends came and parked just outside the campground and joined them throughout the day. Minimum 30 people in one campsite, drinking and partying never stopped. Camp host couldnt have cared less.
Oh man.. we got a 3fer! My only complaint is the word for word captioning for the reviews.. if you threw up a screenshot of the review instead, I think it would be much easier on the eyes. Another great video, brotha!
If you want to see like less of a “psychopath” for measuring distance between campsites, tool companies make some “laser distance measurers” that often work up to 165’. I have one for construction work. Love your videos!
If you carry some rope over your shoulder and a machete, when you're doing the measurement, your camping neighbors will usually be nice, and stay quiet at night though!

That spot in Serrano looked nice and big! I need a large spot because we have a ridiculously sized tent (12'x16'). I'll definitely be checking that campground out. My whole life in SoCal and I've NEVER camped up at Big Bear. We usually go further north.
@karrpoollane it's a Crua Core and I cannot say enough good things about it. 4ft of the length is a vestibule that we use for storage and nighttime bathroom activities LOL the only negatives I've found is not enough places to attach/store gear, but we have tarp clips for that.
Dude! Great comparisons on these campgrounds. Please show us some dispersed camping spots when you can because yes, no neighbors is quite nice. The wife and I love dispersed camping. Digging your content!
Don't get me wrong, I ADORE your content and it actually makes me want to go to an actual campground sometime (instead of disbursed camping, which is what my norm is), but you're also distractingly attractive.

You should go to buckeye near lake Tahoe. There is BLM land or pay camping . The best part is the natural hot springs.

If you want to see like less of a “psychopath” for measuring distance between campsites, tool companies make some “laser distance measurers” that often work up to 165’. I have one for construction work. Love your videos!

If you carry some rope over your shoulder and a machete, when you're doing the measurement, your camping neighbors will usually be nice, and stay quiet at night though!

That spot in Serrano looked nice and big! I need a large spot because we have a ridiculously sized tent (12'x16'). I'll definitely be checking that campground out. My whole life in SoCal and I've NEVER camped up at Big Bear. We usually go further north.

@karrpoollane it's a Crua Core and I cannot say enough good things about it. 4ft of the length is a vestibule that we use for storage and nighttime bathroom activities LOL the only negatives I've found is not enough places to attach/store gear, but we have tarp clips for that.
You really need to come to the king of the hammers and review.

Bluff lake reserve is BEAUTIFUL I used to fix a pool at the church camp at that dead end next to bluff lake. Saw MANY big bears up there!!!!

I love dispersed camping too. All my older videos were dispersed camping. I’d love to show some of my favorite spots again.

Weekends are a completely different story. Camp host two definitely didn’t want to talk to me 😂. It was probably because of my anxious energy.
