Yeah, this one's a keeper. It probably won't be a long game, but it's shaping up to be a good one
Game is reminding me that Chris hasn't played FAITH: The Unholy Trinity
I kept suggesting it. I hope he does one day.
oh damn you're right, I'm surprised he hasn't played it!
I was about to type the easter is from that game I totally forgot he hasn't played faith yet but I hope he dose
Oh yeahhh that game!
Someone boost this. I’d love to see Chris tackle that game
As a child of the 80s who spent (way too many) hours playing my Atari 800XL, this game gave me all the vibes. Please revisit this one when the full game is out! Love your content!
I would love to see you play the full game when it's released!
This game is based off of two similar games: Adventure (1980) and FAITH: The Unholy Trinity (2017). To be honest, this demo is fantastically designed so far. I'm really enjoying the multiple layers of story and horror.
FUN FACT: The very first video game Easter Egg was embedded in Adventure (1980) by one of its designers, Warren Robinett. How cool is that!!!
I actually remember Adventure on my Atari 2600 from my childhood. Immediately when I saw it, and how the key/sword were being held, it brought back so many memories.
For all you old Gamers like me, or for those of you that remember the ending to the movie Ready Player one. This was a throwback to the old Atari game Adventure!
The amount of details and interactivity in this game is mindblowing compared to the last meh games we got. Id like to see the full version!
With how far games have come, it's weird to have nostalgia over a little square with a key glued to it, but here I am. Adventure used to require a lot of imagination, but I was just little, playing my dad's Atari, and the red dragon Rhindle ended up being scarier than any blob of pixels had any right to be. Seahorse lookin lil dude
Very entertaining. Thank you for playing, CJU!
Yay! A day off and a new video to watch! Love watching you play anything!
This is seriously weird.
I felt like i was having atari flasbacks.
Yeah i know its not the worst thing to have childhood flashbacks.
Until you remember some seriously weird as hell games we were stuck playing as kids. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
CJUGAMES.
This is retro/old school cool.
Please keep on with this if you can once the full game is released.
Im playing left for dead 2 again.
And got throught the first one again last week.
Hadnt played it in about 5 yrs.
Sometimes it great to relive the older games.
And probably why i still for kicks play the first 3 Diablo Games.
Yes i know we are on to 4.
I just got it.
Ill be starting that the weekend after next.
When i have a 4 day break.
Love watching the channel.
Keep up the awesome work.
Colt from Long Island NY and Maris Parish Louisiana.
Good stuff! Love the 2600-style Adventure graphics. As soon as I saw the afro-guy, I said to myself, 'Disco Stu' is in this?'
What a cliffhanger! Looking forward to the full game!
Love the blend of retro and modern puzzle/horror elements. Can't wait to see the full game.
Omg this is a blast from the past, I had most of these toys as a child. Really enjoyed your playthrough and your commentary is brilliant.
Mega fan of this games art style and concept. Please play the full game when it comes out. That would be a fun watch regardless of when the video drops.
A game in a game where you are gaming in a game type game
The music and the style of the game gives me so much nostalgia. I love it. It honestly and truly embodies what games were like back then.
I absolutely ❤ this game! I didn't want it to end. Please play the full version. I grew up in game rooms and this was so nostalgic.
Lol the amount of stuff he instantly forgot or ignored was hilarious
Ooo this was so good and creepy I'm obsessed with these game within games. They're weirdly cozy but scary lol. Hope you play the full game when it's released!
please play this when it releases!!! it's a breath of fresh air for indie horror compared to all the dilapidated buildings, asylums, and jumpscares
I am so rooting for that little square lol. But in all seriousness please, I'm begging you, play the full version. This looks amazing.
This was awesome! Love the music, the pixel art ❤ Super!

Retro indeed!!! That took me right back, nearly all the way!
Can't wait for the full game to come out! I like the retro aesthetics. Looks like you will need to solve puzzles in game and also in your bedroom. Also, a reference from "Thomas Jackson" in the news about games affecting children, it's Jack Thompson the lawyer who has a beef against video games. It seems that this Mr Jackson is actually right about games and toys being an influence on kids by occult, at least in this universe. The Tormenture game hints at being tools to lure children in and the spelling toy having questionable words for kids to spell.
This looks like it's gonna be an amazing ride when it's finally released!
There is a PC gamer magazine called Micromania in Spain. I feel there are a lot of references I'm missing. I'm hooked!
Oh WHOA, that was so GOOD! I hope they finish the game so you can play the full thing!!
Omg this reminds me of the game Dungeon back in 1975. Crazy ❤❤❤
I thought this was excellent - great homage to 'Adventure' on the 2600 and really clever mechanics interacting with the real world.
Looking forward to watching the full playthrough
Actually for some time I was more interested in the retro playthrough then what was going around it. I also want to add that this 8bit music was excellent.
I remember that some of my friends was so used to blow at cartridges that they also did the same to floppy discs and CD's.
love the ominous speak and spell, unless they were all like that when i was a kid and i've repressed it. great game anyway, love the whole aesthetic, looking forward to the full release
Atari: Adventure. One of my favorites from my childhood. Wow, memories!!!
I loved Tunic too! I even brought a hardcover copy of the manual 😍
Hey Chris! Have you ever thought about playing Lucius? Its a game based off the movie The Omen I'd Love to see it on the channel!
Chris, just wanna leave a short note that I love this channel sm and your commentary and playstyle and jokes~ keep doing what you do best!
Definitely looking forward to this I love the retro vibe and it was very anxiety inducing!! Thanks cj!!!
Definitely want to see the full game
Definitely want to see you play the full game when it comes out! This was giving me a Bandersnatch vibe.
Looks great, looking forward to the full game. Thanks
This is really fun, I would love to see you play the full game once it's released! ☺️
Amazing demo! Looking forward to the whole playthrough.
This was pretty cool! I like it, id love to watch you do a full playthru once it comes out Chris!!
That was great! Thanks for playing CJU! and keep an eye out for the rest of it, I'll definitely watch.
Just what I needed on this Monday. Thanks Chris!!
Definitely want to see the full game! Long live retro!
What a fun ride! Can't wait to see more when it comes out!
I highly suggest playing Adventure on the old Atari 2600. This game will make a LOT more sense afterwards.
Cjugames, I look forward to watching you play the full version.
I'd love to see you play Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.
Would LOVE to see this once it's released, also play it myself.
The in-game also reminds of Buddy Simulator which I love
You might know this, but the game is based off of the Atari Castle Game!
I remember that game. It was called Atari Dungeons and Dragons, I think. Great memories.
@@Nico-yi2bi it was just called Adventure, I had it as a kid and had no idea what I was doing but was scared of the gold dragon chasing me
It was called Adventure, which was made for the Atari. It was some of of the early Atari games we had for it. Those pesky dragons and bats - always stealing your stuff and move it somewhere else during your quest to get into the Castle.
The dialog is in the style of the programmer's name Easter egg in Adventure
@@bombpromises Oh yes, "Adventure"
This looks awesome! Defo can't wait to see the full game!!!
The Safety Authority name being Thomas Jackson instead of our real world counterpart Jack Thompson can't be an accident.
Definitely would love to see the full game to this one! 👌
What feels strange is that I think I'd be totally cool with a game that was just me in the 80s playing games, with no further gimmick needed.
Just watching your Evil within 1 gameplay when you uploaded this playthrough, mate. EW 1 was a fantastic gameplay! 9 years ago. You were a chubby boy back then, but the commentry and gameplay was and still amazing. Thank you for playing, mate.
what a clever idea for a game this is. cannot wait for the full release
Can't wait to see the full version! Loved it!
Please play the full game, I really enjoyed this demo... I wonder if the colors on the church window could be used on the phone, and what you get when you spell everything?? Thanks for the entertainment Chris ❤
I'd love to see more, this was a lot of fun!
Another promising game that I'd like to see you play on the channel when it's out !
In the end this demo remembered to me _Faith: The Unholy Trinity_ from Airdorf. Cool, I liked. I appreciate this kind of game.
This was INCREDIBLE! spooky for sure
I'd love to see it when it comes out!
Ok, I'm diggin' this one.
Hi cju thank you for playing 😊😊
Very, very cool game. Looking forward to the full release.
This looks like it will be fun as hell, looking forward to it!
So enjoyable game I just have to say one thing as someone who was playing games like this in 1982, we had Intellivesion, they've mixed in what's basically toddler/preschool toys in this kids room I'm guessing because they're "retro" with no thought to the age of the child. If they're old enough to make notes and read a manual they're not playing with a phone, farm animal sounds, or spelling toy that was for babies and little kids. Like why as a 10-12 yo would you have toys like that in your room.. even if they were 8 still too old. Lol just bugged me
I'll help you here: just imagine they have younger siblings. My youngest sibling was 9 years younger than me so while I was playing nintendo or Pokémon cards her baby toys were around. It's possible! 😂
@@guhrizzlybaire alright I see in fact I've got one 12 years younger than me so I understand lol but to me it really did read like the dev just Googled retro toys and just threw them in there. It's just a small complaint no biggie
@___mehp burgertime was my fave but yeah the controls were horrible my step father had some games, and the attachment, that could "speak" and I hated how they sounded creeped me out to be in the same room with them
I am a sucker for the game within a game genre and but it has to be done well and I think this is very promising!
Full game is a must for sure!
I'm pretty sure you could of had your character in the game get their picture taken by that creature, there was a little box right across from it that looked to be the right size for the yellow sprite.
Looks fantastic! The music is incredibly good and I was definitely not jamming along to spoopy 8bit game lol. Also please play FAITH.
Is a pretty unique game, I really enjoyed that demo!
18:12 I think if you go on that empty square it would take a picture ... ?
So excited for a new video!
Great stuff. I'd love a full playthrough.
I'll be showing my age, I had a Speak 'n' Spell and See 'n' Say when I was a kid😂
Love it! Play full game!
Can't wait for the full game!
I like this game like the other one with the shack that has the puzzles
You need to do the full game!
oh, i pretty much love the game outside from the game...or how should i call it lol 😊😂 so yeah, anyways great one cju! ✌🏼
This is going to be an extremely interesting game! The full release will not be remiss!
CJU i was suprised you did not go with "If you want to tormenture yourself then it in the more info section" lol
this is a fun game! :O Lots of depth to it.
I will like to see you play the full game when it comes out
wait...a normal intro that aint sus? Is this even still Chris?!?
Same with the last video. Very interesting to say the least.
I played an Atari game called Adventure.. Looks so familiar. So fun! Lets see full release! Please 😊
I do want to see the full game.
Not that exact ai voice that all of the “aita reddit post with Minecraft jumping in the background” videos use right at the start 💀 I really hope this game within a game idea doesn’t become super overused in every single indie game like some other concepts
yo dawg i heard you like games in your games so we put a game in your game so you can game while you game
Didn't Day of the Tentacle allow you to play Maniac Mansion, and Stories Untold also have such a mechanic, and Interference (or something) too. Not all that new, but agree that this should become a new "norm".
Hello today we are playing a new indie horror game, Tormenture, and if you want a little torture in your adventure the link for it is in the description box below! lol!
Have you said one time « so far so bad » ?
Definitely want to see this!!
This looks cool. You should play it!
I like the idea if you have the budget to make 5% of the game crips and beautiful and still have amazing gameplay its a good idea to use retro to supplement
CJU clearly never played Adventure
Great demo!🙂👍
