The boys took off their shirts and tied them into a rope so the kids could climb out of a window and slide down to safety. A reporter asked him what happened and all he said was, _"...they shot my best friend."_ then he broke down and began to weep. A larger boy, probably on the football team, shoved his way through the crowd, rushed to the boy, grabbed him and pulled him into a tight hug and they both began to cry. That morning is still not forgotten by a good deal of people.
Thank you very much for not, it was extremely rude and poor taste for them to make a tragedy into a game and then for them to even inclue a warning about it is even insulting to everyone who was affected by that tragedy. They knew what they were doing and to continue with it makes me want to not play any of their future games too.
The 5 dollar bill given to the video store clerk at 5:11 uses a design that wasn't actually introduced until 1999, 2 years after this game takes place. Before that, $5 bills used a smaller, centered portrait of Lincoln.
Those of us who still remember the days of VHS tapes and video rental stores will really appreciate this...VERY nice! There was always one of those 'pink rooms' way in the back.

The tendency of the NPC walk animations to be so out of sync with the movement and so slow created a nicely eerie effect in some parts. Interesting, whether on purpose or accidental.
Man, the horror that these games touch is a kind that is not tappped into commonly. It is such a grimey horror that feels evil on like a spiritual level. CJUGames did a fantastic job with the material.

I ended up watching the Shotgun Massacre game on another channel and I understand why you chose not to show it. I'm very much against censorship, however this is your channel and I totally understand not wanting to show it because it's distasteful as opposed to just censoring things because of TH-cam. I do appreciate the bits you left in, we did get the 'story' of the game if you can even call it that without showing the frankly boring, not well made gameplay in between. Unexpected twist in the end! Never thought about ending like this at all. Definitely liked the first video best. Growing paranoia and hidden scare is what you are doing best in this channel and third one was a pure logic and crazy fun so also very much fit! Anyway, with all things considered, (even the gory subject but boring one) that was a very clever idea!
Im kind of glad you didnt show the second vhs, I got the idea the creator went for but to openly base it off a very real and very traumatizing event was not the best idea. Even for something fictional its best not to use a real event as your 'inspiration' for a mass murder style game.

I think the first one was good at introducing the concept of the Enlightened. The second one I really feel like was a horrible and distasteful attempt to "meme" the airport level from CoD: Modern Warfare 2. The third one was perhaps the most gameplay involved, but scare wise felt very disappointing, especially with the farting. The fourth one was a nice way to tie it all together to really cerement it being a cohesive universe. Did not expect that ending though.

I think the second movie, Shotgun Massacre, was intentionally made bad to keep the vibe of trashy B-movies in the game. Overall, this is a pretty good game and does a great job in delivering a weird experience.
What??? You can’t use logic like that! Horror games are supposed to be warm and loving and empathetic! Not uncomfortable and trashy! Especially not horror games that are 100% designed to be reminiscent of sloppy B-movies!!
love the music..they really hit the Carpenter atmosphere. I've been a big John Carpenter fan ever since I saw Halloween when I was 12 & I have a lot of soundtrack cds. there's just something about the style of music that makes u think about misty October nights & hidden menace in every shadow
That was actually a banging watch. This is the kind of thing that makes all the humdrum and tedium and lazy and bad games you endure worth it. Games like this are the gems. Maybe a little unpolished, not perfect, but rough diamonds. Made by people with a real vision, and who put the time and work in to deliver a real, solid experience.
This reminds me of an old Hong Kong horror comedy movie series called Troublesome Night. The movies are always about several different stories that are connected and ends with a twist. Really enjoy long videos like this. Thanks, Chris. Looking forward for vol. 2.

I really, really enjoyed this. Such an original concept. Horror anthologies are by far my favorite subgenre and this was setup just like a really good one. The twist at the end was classic "Tales from the Crypt". Game 3 is something I would never play (I get way too flustered), but it was by far my favorite. I really like how each game is a different play style. Excited for volume 2. Thank you for not showing game 2. I can stomach just about anything but this is one thing on my nope list. I really appreciate the developers including a warning before the start.

I feel like it was the developer's attempt at making a horrible and completely insensitive "meme" level in reference to the notorious airport level from CoD: Modern Warfare 2. At the very least the developer was had enough foresight to realize how it might affect people, and provide a skip option. Where as a AAA developer didn't add such a feature until a console generation later on a remaster.

I really like how you give a great, detailed breakdown in your video description. Story-wise, I thought the framing game with Rachel was good and had a fun twist at the end -- the director's lines were great meta commentary on the genre and the horror films that inspired these games. Just Arrived did a great job ratcheting up the paranoia as the game went on (or was that more your commentary?), but the ending fell flat for me as I just couldn't see why the protag would have such a seemingly large change of heart; I would've preferred he either be the killer from the beginning or have lines hinting at violent tendencies throughout his story arc. Pizza Delivery definitely looked like the most fun game. The Last Enlightenment was boring to me -- your commentary and its connections to the other games in this volume allowed it to just hold my attention. Thanks for playing and sharing your recordings with us! I enjoy your commentary.
Pizza Delivery is my favourite. Batshit crazy, running and hiding from a loony, puzzles, good, silly fun. I do wonder, though, if the second ending on that particular game was you killing her, then escaping. Did not see the ending coming. Great little twist. Now I'm really surious about any new volumes, and if the devs can come up with new twists and turns. Thanks for deciding to play everything at once. It felt more cohesive that way.

I really like how you give a great, detailed breakdown in your video description.
Story-wise, I thought the framing game with Rachel was good and had a fun twist at the end -- the director's lines were great meta commentary on the genre and the horror films that inspired these games.
Just Arrived did a great job ratcheting up the paranoia as the game went on (or was that more your commentary?), but the ending fell flat for me as I just couldn't see why the protag would have such a seemingly large change of heart; I would've preferred he either be the killer from the beginning or have lines hinting at violent tendencies throughout his story arc.
Pizza Delivery definitely looked like the most fun game.
The Last Enlightenment was boring to me -- your commentary and its connections to the other games in this volume allowed it to just hold my attention.

Pizza Delivery is my favourite. Batshit crazy, running and hiding from a loony, puzzles, good, silly fun. I do wonder, though, if the second ending on that particular game was you killing her, then escaping.
Did not see the ending coming. Great little twist. Now I'm really surious about any new volumes, and if the devs can come up with new twists and turns.
