This is the most constructive and easy way to diagnose a BMW with problems. the Dealer takes these steps: diagnose and charge battery, send you off with 200euro bill, the next time they replace the battery 350euro, after that they fault the Alternator, 1100euro, still no fix but a few bills further you wish they ever slow down and watch a real smart youtuber do all the gold work!

You are worth your weight in gold. Diagnosing a battery drain is actually really simple, fixing is a bit more of a challenge. The trick with locking the doorlock without closing it, i have never seen before 🙃 Amazing!
I've seen that trick many times. But if you have people around, make sure to let them know they should not try to close doors or trunk afterwards or they'll damage the locks
i watched this video last night and it made me think when you were lead to the hvac controller, i was getting codes for my heater control valves and have been getting poor heater performance. i also happen to have an e60 so to me the evidence pointed to a faulty hvac controller. i skipped all the diagnosing you did in this video and went ahead and took apart my climate controller, sure enough same exact chip was burned up! i also know how to hunt down and diagnose other potential issues in the future after watching this video. this was very helpful! thank you!

Bro I literally just fixed my e60 after 3 batteries and 9 months of disconnecting the negative cable, my issue was fuse F51, which is the auto-dimming rear view mirror smh… Thank you man Wish you all the best 👏

Very good video. However, my battery drain (approx. 6-7 amps) initially seemed to be caused by the instrument cluster because removing fuse F13 stopped the drain. The car staying awake can be heard from the DISA valve (buzzing sound under the hood), which turned on occasionally in the beginning, but recently it stayed on permanently. However, the cause of the car staying awake turned out to be a liquid (possibly water) in the plug connections of the DME. After rinsing with petrol and applying a vacuum cleaner, they were 100% dry. Then the problem was solved. Edit: after 3 weeks the problem is back :-( I temporarily use a switch in the glove compartment to turn off the instrument cluster when the engine is turmed off until the problem is finally resolved.

Question for you: I accidentally drained my 2005 X3 battery by powering an air pump to fill 8 tires. The next day the x3 did not start. I jump it with a battery charger. The intelligent battery charger returned a bad cell / need to recondition battery for 24 hours. Can I simply disconnect the Battery monitoring system and then recondition the battery from under the hood battery posts? Or do I need to remove battery totally and then recondition the battery? i have done the same job last year on my E60 2005, but when i open a glovebox lights come on, if i open glove box and wait 30 minutes +/- will the light go out?, cause when i had this problem i just found interior light fuses and took them out then waited till my car went asleep. did i do it wrong?
Salut . Super ceea ce faci . Am văzut la erori că avea și ceva legat de THROTTLE . De 6 ani nde când am e60-ul M57 nu reușesc să scap de eroarea cu throttle actuator (2 erori ). Am reparat primul throttle body , funcționa perfect , făcea regenera dar arunca eroare pe INPA . Până la urmă am cumpărat un throttle nou nouț și am aceeași eroare , deși totul pare să funcționeze perfect .... doar apare pe diagnoza eroarea , și îmi stă pe creier , pentru că toate funcționează perfect pe mașină și nu are alte erori .Poți să mă indrumi ? Ceva sugestii ? Mulțumesc anticipat .❤

The icom Next can be purchased from the dealer or from a cars parts store with the original BMW part number ! But unfortunately at this time, is not available to be delivered any ware!
Hey dude, Is it possible, not messure the fuses if they have 0.0V, but only pull the first fuse out and show if there is a diffrence on the multimeter. If not put it back and continue the process? Bc I only got 1 Multimeter and have to use it at the battery. Is it possible? Also nice Video :)
I tried on my f20 to do the multimeter drain test, but the amps went up and down, it was almost like i waked up the car since i made contact with the multimeter. Any suggestions what i can do ?

Hello friend, is that correct way to measure the voltage drop for those fuses? To measure the voltage drop, you don't need to measure the plus and minus, right? If so, how can the voltage drop be measured if only the plus goes through those fuses? so that way of measuring the voltage drop should be wrong, right? Or am I missing something?
the DMM measures the difference between the black test lead & the red when set to voltage, current must flow for voltage to drop so there will be a potential difference on both legs of the fuse which was measured in mV. The same with the positive lead from battery to starter motor for example, when loaded (cranked) there will be a potential difference from one end to the other & the DMM will read the difference between the black & red test leads on that 1 wire (1 at the battery & the other at the starter motor).

What setting is your multimeter on when checking the fuses for voltage drop?
How did you know what that specific chip did? Is there a reference for this somewhere?

Thats great. but.. when car sleeps and wake up every 15minutes. (Sleep current is 11mA) then this method is not ideal for test.
