Ridges in roof are for added strength. The same reason tin cans have ridges on them!

I used to have a Freelander 1 and while it was being fixed one time, I had the use of a fancy new FL2 for a week. I thought all the toys were nice, but the steering felt a bit disconnected from the road somehow and the driving experience lacked the ‘mechanicalness’ of the FL1. I must’ve mellowed though as I now have an FL2 and it’s great!

My old FL1 was a really happy car, juat like my 25 is.

Okay - next time I buy a farm, have to climb over rocks and get through deep mud, and need to put a sheep in the back, I'll consider one...

This is my car. 2011 FL2. I disagree that the steering is too light. I love everything about it. (Except the hooter bars and backseat headrests.)

Always have had a soft spot for the FL1 & FL2 I think there great vehicles and the FL2 is land rovers most reliable car to date!

You can test drive my rather scabby primrose yellow 75 V6. Only two issues, its in dry storage down in Kent and on SORN. Unhelpful post of the week, as you were....

My wife's 2004 K-series is getting a bit passed it now, 245,000 miles and rather worn.....she wants either another SWB Mk1 phase 2 (but must be like new) or the FL2 is temptingbher...

@@rovercoupe7104 corrosion killed it (salty roads/coast) she picked up a Citroën C crosser as a stop gap.....she has decided on a freelander 3 (disco sport) or the Grenedier 90.....

After a week in the highlands with my Sprite I wondered why people weren’t looking at me when I was driving my 75. M.

I drove, briefly, in a borrowed Jaguar without putting on the lights. I thought that the auto lights were on because the instruments are lit all the time. M.

Av had a few of them lol the freelanders. Only one I haven't had was the Mk2. I have driven the the mk2 didn't mind it. Although I prefer the mk1 had the td4 and the K series engine and the L series td I preferred the L series td. Always thought they where cramped in the back. I see you had the same weather as me lol. All in all good review. Did you know that the Discovery Sport was supposed to the mk3 Freelander but they spent to much money on it and had to rebadge it and call it a discovery lol. Interesting fact lol or maybe not.🤣😁

I love the L-series, but it certainly feels old compared to this

I always preferred the old Defender to the Freelander however that autobox and interior looks very inviting. What's with the massive hole in the jeans stop trying to make grunge happen its never coming back haha! ;)

Sooo many people drive round without lights on .Its because of those stupid DRLs and the fact the dashboard is permanently lit up.....
