I have a pair of ATH-M50X's and I was thinking about buying the audient ID4 but I don't want to buy an extra headphone amp. I'm a bedroom producer and singer/songwriter and I will be only using my M50'x for monitoring and mixing. I've heard that the headphone amps on the ID4 are not that great. What do you think I should do? I was undecided between a an Audient ID4 or a scarlett solo!
I really dont know how to use this at all, i bought it plugged it in downloaded a mad set up thing from audient but what software do i use? How do i actually record? This is so confusing
Mad set up thing? Lol. You need to download some sort of recording software. There's plenty out there, like Garageband for Mac. I personally use Reaper and Mixcraft for my guitar recordings.
Sorry but I don't have it anymore because the Scarlett 2i2 had lower latency and better drivers so I settled on using it instead. The overall latency was like 9.8ms at that setting on my PC and I didn't have a problem tracking DI guitars using amp sims at that setting.
No, it doesn't come with any extra software at all unfortunately, unlike most audio interfaces, but here's a list of free DAWs that can be used with it: masters-of-music.com/best-free-daw-software-for-recording-editing-and-creating-music/
Can you watch youtube videos and work in ableton? my old interface forced me to choose either my DAW or any other sound source (browser / winamp) great review, greatly appreciated!
I think it's just a matter of what sample rate you are using with Ableton. If you match it to whatever other application you are using both should work at the same time. My last interface, the 1st gen 2i4, was that way. Ableton would disable audio if the project was set at 48kHz when I had audio streaming at 44kHz. The iD4 is the same way. They have to be the same for it to work. Now the 2nd gen 2i2 on the other hand will play two different applications at the same time using different sample rates, so it avoids that problem altogether, which is nice.
I purchased the audient today, testing it right now. Can confirm, have to match the Sample Rates. Man, really disappointing. by the way, have you decided what interface you are sticking with?
When you say math the sample rates. Can you elaborate on that. I really want this equipment. And I mostly only do vocals in my home studio. I feel like this sample rate/latency issue would be a hindrance to me. I'm using a MacBook Pro. El Capitan. NT1 condenser. Please reply. Thanks.
No, it doesn't have MIDI connectors. Most connect via USB anymore so it doesn't really matter. Plus there are USB to MIDI adapters for ones without USB.
hello...I am ur big fan from India..love ur videos..they are very helpful..and u r quite famous over here anyways I wanted to ask a question...can I use my monitor outputs as my headphone outputs in 2i4??... PLEASE REPLY!!!!
Sorry but I don't understand why you'd want to do that. Maybe using an adapter. It certainly isn't going to work just plugging into the outs. If you want to plug in multiple headphones you'd be better off with a 6i6.
That little baby has the best audio quality!!! Belive it has the same quality like interfaces VERY more expensives. 100% recommend

Does your id4 mute button give like a weird click compared to the id button that only has a mechanical click?

Im having issues with the D.I input
I can't record anything. Any solution?
How does an connect a keyboard (so not for typing but for playing) to this thing?
But the latency issue makes it rather unusable...or?
Could you please make a video on 128 buffer size. i use a ton of vst"s for live performance. i would like to hear the latency.

I can't get it to show up in my Pro Tools Hardware
I cant get my darn mic to work with the unit... Any ideas? The audio works fine.

Would 'Low Latency Mode' in Logic Pro X sort out any latency issues?
latency issues with a brand new award winning interface using a decent computer - aaarrrrrgghhh!
