    can you shoot this out against the focuarite 2i4?? or give like a pros and cons of each and which you'd recommend

      Good idea. I use the Focusrite Saffire pro 14, I'd like to see that as well, especially comparisons of D.I. The automation knob on this unit is cool too tho.

      LloydTheHuman I just changed from the focusrite 2i4(2nd gen) to the audient ID4 and so far love it. My pros to the audient compared to the focusrite is the so far it, hasn't crashed or had any pop or click issues when tracking. The latency response is really fast and the signal is really clear and keeps the signal nice and beefy whereas I found the focusrite to be a little more brittle with a little less mids. I have a video on my channel comparing various other ways to record if you want to see that.

      These are not "ten times better", as far as the recording quality you will struggle to hear a difference. The DA side of things might be better.

      the biggest flaw of this one here is that you can`t record stereo cause of the amp input on one channel. I find "stereo in" possibility the least an interface should offer

    So, that about latency and driver stability? Keeping my eye lately on Audient interfaces, but people over the internet say it's has too much latency while recording DI

      Audient any day
      I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and, to be blunt, it sucks ass.
      Crashes at least once every handful of days, noisey preamps, clicks in my vocal recordings, etc...
      My friend's Scarlett Solo literally crashes every 30 minutes, that's unacceptable.
      Audient interfaces have MUCH better preamps, better drivers, and arguably better support (none of my Focusrite support tickets have ever led to any actual help).

    The latency should have been discussed, because people have been preferring the focusrites because of low latency on them.

    the id14 is a killer interface with ADAT expansion you can add 8 mic pre's to that tiny little interface for when you need more inputs!

  • @TheRobphobos
    @TheRobphobos 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've been using the iD14 for about 3 months now, it's very good and worth the small price difference (imho). If you're in the UK you can get it for about £150.
    On win 7 - zero driver issues.

    • @demondrive147

      Please say the latency is less than 15 ms (buffer size 96, 44.1kHz), I'll buy one!!

    • @groov3z
      @groov3z 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the buffer set to 64 and latency set to minimum it's 2.45ms - but I think you need a wicked computer to be able to run that setting smoothly.

    • @demondrive147
      @demondrive147 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      at 96 it'll work fine?

    • @groov3z
      @groov3z 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The next buffer size available is 128 so I can't tell you. What I can say is when I record guitars I use a 256 buffer with latency set to low (1 step above minimum) and I don't experience any latency or performance issues.
      By the way I'm working on a laptop that I bought ~5 years ago that has 4GB RAM and an i3 CPU so if you have anything better than that I bet you're golden.

    I have a question, I am mainly EDM producer but I also want to record rapers in my home studio, Im using Logic X and Krk rokit 5g3. I cant decide between this (price for ID4 is 99 euros) vs focusrite scarlet 2i2 2nd generation (120 euros right now). Is the sample rate of ID4 24 bit / 96 khz problem against focusrites scarlet 2i2 with 24-bit/192 kHz? (Or it isnt diference between those two for my needs?) Which is better choice ?
    And one more question for example situation : me as producer behind my MacBook and studio monitors, I want to hear what for example rapper or singer (in recording room) is singing but also he or she (singer) wants to hear that to their headphones at same live recording time :/ Is this possible make it happen on ID4? Because I cant see any separate volume knob for headphones like for example on focusrite scarlett 2i2. Or if I understand it correctly, if I plug headphones to the ID4 big volume knob is for volume in headphones but at this time Im also controling same audio level on pluged studio monitors? So volume on headphones and monitors are on same level? Or I can control it independently on Audient ID4 ? Or is this possible to do both at same time on Audient ID4 or it is possible only on 2i2 do monitoring on headphones and monitors at same time with diferent volume? Thank you

    i own focusrite 2i2, is buying this will be an upgrade? i only mind getting high gain tones with my 7 string guitar (recording di's no pedal or anything)

    • @AE-hx7wy
      @AE-hx7wy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will, trust me. Search for UR22 vs id14 some guy testing it out against a interface that is similar to yours in quality, it reminds me of running my guitar thru a countryman di into my shitty audio interface delta 66. What i mean is magic happens with the countryman (so does it with the id14). The preamps are the same that they have on large consoles!

    • @CosmicDiamond999
      @CosmicDiamond999 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      does it have high latency compare to 2i2 though? i guess id14's latency is better than id4 right?

    • @AE-hx7wy
      @AE-hx7wy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also red about the latency issues, your cpu seems to be key here. Good cpu i7:ish, good performance. But really, is there a question here of latency? You always cut & paste in the daw anyway to get it as tight as possible. Not even the pro's record without cutting& pasting. To me the sound quality is much more important then being able to play exactly how you intend. Id4 or id14 clearly out-do the competition here. Believe me the difference it makes if you have less noise in your preamps, it's so worth it. Forexample if i record my guitars without the countryman into my shitty m-audio interface engaging the hi-z input, huuuuuuuge difference, in a bad way especially with distorted guitars, have to noise gate or cut & and paste even more without the DI. And that's a hi-z input a worse one (like the 2i2 or ur22 similar to that, really bad hi-z ones, versus the id4 or id14 which is so much cleaner (at least if one believes the youtubers and the clips demonstrated).

    I was eyeing with that Ampeg micro VR in the background. Is it connected to a re-amp box? Then what is your signal chain? Record DI, reamp with the micro VR, use the balanced out to your DAW and then cab simulation? If yes which one? Actually I have the same setup and I don't really like the balanced out signal. I know it's not common for bass, but I got much better result with 2 mics recording an actual cabinet. Anyways, would be an interesting video to show your bass workflow!

    I'm willing to buy the ID14 but i'm indecisive between it and the ID4, i like the ID4 dual headphone outputs, and i was wondering if it will make any differenve in quality using a headphone splitter with the ID14 to have two outputs? I also like the monitor pan button on the ID4 and i wonder if there is a workaround achieving that with the ID14.
    Last question regarding the ID4 if using a bus power could affect the preamp noise compared to using the power supply with the ID14?
    Thanks

    I have a pair of ATH-M50X's and I was thinking about buying the audient ID4 but I don't want to buy an extra headphone amp. I'm a bedroom producer and singer/songwriter and I will be only using my M50'x for monitoring and mixing. I've heard that the headphone amps on the ID4 are not that great. What do you think I should do? I was undecided between a an Audient ID4 or a scarlett solo!

    • @godu1111
      @godu1111 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the iD4 and M50`s. The sound generated by the iD4 in general is very good (got some pretty decent Yamaha monitors) and the same goes to what comes out of the headphones.
      You mostly play guitar, bass and do some mixing of those together with vocals and programmed drums.

    I want to buy audient Id4 or audient has. Is there a difference in the quality
    of the microphone input and the output to the studio monitors?
    Recording will be a male or female voice (narration, video narration,
    narration, rap). The voice will write into the microphone of the dynamic
    type Shure sm7b. I'm going to make a sound on Adam end
    monitors. Would I have enough audient id4 or the quality and quality of
    the sound on my studio monitors would be worse than Audient has? Do I
    need a separate microphone mic pre? Audient has is Burr Brown AD/Da
    converter, will the audient id4 sound worse?
