    Thank you! I heated up a small screwdriver on the gas stove and burned a small hole in the new fuel line where I trimmed it. This let me tie fishing line to it and pull it through and get it started easier.
    Thanks again

    what did u do about that small loose fitting in the tank? where does it go? & it's purpose? also is that a Zuma carb or Walbro?

    Thanks for taking the time to post this video. Had a chain saw given to me that did not work. after watching this video I was able to find my problem and install the intake fuel line. Finding the right size hose was difficult but a regular saw trimmer line worked after drilling out the hole in the top of the fuel tank. Phew time to get to work

    I see two holes into the gas tank. Which hole does the line go to the bulb abd which goes to the carburator? Also, the fuel filter goes on which line? The line closest to the fuel cap or the other line farther away? Thanks for a great video.

    You make it look so easy. I have even have that little locking surgical tweezer-pliers that you used. I pushed and pulled and cussed and discussed putting both the lines in those holes and they would not go in. Even diagnally cutting the fuel lines. The ONLY way either of them would go through is to pass a wee-bit larger drill and enlarge the holes. Then, when completed, use a little JB weld to fill around the entry points from the outside. I hope that I have not hurt anything. Tell me WHY the line ID is important? This is the only video that I have seen that used both sizes of fuel line. Others say one size or the other for both. Usually the smaller one.

    The carburetor is a bit different that the one in the video. if I look to the right side of the carburetor there are 2 lines. The bulb has 2 lines, 1 larger one and the other smaller. I understand which one goes in the tank as its labeled. what I don't understand is why there are 2 portals on the right side and what goes into which. I know one of the lines from the bulb has to go into one of those portals, but that still leaves one portal empty of a line. any answers or suggestions??

    i needed the 11in needle nose pliers with angle to grab the hose. use lube on the fuel line to pull thru the hole. take your own pics of the lines,ect to help reassemble.

    I used the Lowes Arnold Fuel Line kit. Probably should have bought two, the larger yellow, primer line was 1-2 inches shorter than I wanted, but it worked.

  • @manatee91

    I have a small fitting which I saw in your gas tank, did you just ignore it? that's been my drawback and not being able to feed the small line into the tank.

    • @tomt9543
      @tomt9543 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That white plastic barbed fitting goes in the end of the “return” line that comes off of the purge (not primer) bulb. It keeps the return from getting pulled out of the hole accidentally. To install, cut a long taper on the hose end , rub some type of oil or spray lubricant on the line and insert it in the tank hole. As with the filter/pickup line, grab the end of the line inside the tank with hemostat or needle nose pliers and pull it out of the fuel cap opening. Cut it off square and insert the barbed fitting. Then pull the line back out of the top hole until the barbed piece gets stopped by the hole. That’s it! He also failed to mention that if the lines are broken off of the bulb, one of the two nipples will be labeled “in” in tiny letters. That nipple goes to the carburetor, the other is the return.

    One further explanation of my last post: I believe there's an unspecified length of small line that should connect to the filter. The connector that was never mentioned again is used to connect the small line from the filter to the small line coming from the carb such that when the line is pulled back to the carb as far as the connector will allow the filter will lay exactly correct at the bottom of the tank.

    These lines are not so easy to get started and pull through the holes. I got the larger line partially through today and actually
    pulled the line in two before it would come on through. Going to try to get thinner wall line tomorrow, more that factory. Very flustrating.

    For clarity, the fuel filter goes on the "smaller" hose.... And to make the hoses go in holes easier, Cut them for 3-4 inches as the diagonal and it makes it much easier..

    the parts manual for my Sears 358.352180 prescribes 2 fuel lines, but misidentifies 530069216 as the small diam line, when it seems 530069247 is the small diam line. Further, neither the manual nor the Sears parts site have specify the dimensions! Note that while the larger line is compatible with the 3/32 I.D. x 3/16 O.D. fuel line kit sold in our area big-box stores, the kit's smaller line 1/16 I.D. x 1/8 O.D. is smaller in both dimensions than the OEM small diam line, which is .140x.080

    while the forceps idea will probably work for fishing/pulling the lines through the tank (I absolutely had to PULL from inside, since pushing from outside didn't work for me), if you don't have forceps but have extra line length, other posters suggested splitting the line for several inches, rather than just cutting the end on a diagonal

  • @tennesseesteve7949
    @tennesseesteve7949 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The SECRET to getting the fuel line THROUGH.. is to cut it down the middle longways about 3 inches. and cut one half off.. take the other skinny half and feed it through the hole. reach in through the tank filler hole with needle nose pliers and pull.. WD-40 on the line helps. pull out and cut smooth.. grab other end and pull it back in tank.

    The video solved which line the in-tank fuel filter was to be attached to and where the line from the top of the carb return to the fuel tank....I just had to remove the old brittle supply hoses from the holes leading to/from the fuel tank....nothing a toothpick or dental tool wouldnt push down to the fuel tank and then easily cleared by turning the saw on its side, shaking and allowing the debris to fall from the fuel tank.

    I hate to say this but you need to back away or refocus your camera, we cannot see anything it’s all blurred. Also an explanation of which hose goes where would be most helpful. Also I do believe you babe be mistaken on where the hoses go not sure because I don’t understand where you put the hoses on your video. Also get a mount for your phone/camera, shaky & blurry pictures.

    There are two different carburetors in this video. My saw is a poulan,with carb similar to the second carb in this video. Line size and routing depends on which carb you have. Fortunately there is a poulan 2150 video which explains size and routing for my fuel lines.

    My chainsaw is an 18 incher. Info from sears was much better than this video but also never showed where lines to carb go. My saw has only one hole that enters the tank. Both the large & small lines get pushed through that one hole. The larger line is the return line from the plunger. The smaller is from the carb to the filter in the tank. The video of the inside of the tank showed a loose connector piece laying in the tank but never mentioned what that connector was for & never showed it again. The video shows the filter attached directly to the small line coming from the carb. The Sears info says to ensure the line is pulled back to the carb enough such that the filter lays properly on the bottom of the tank. I believe that connector connects an unspecified length of small line to the line coming from the carb such that when the line is pulled back to the carb as far as the connector will allow, the filter will lay exactly correct at the bottom of the tank.

    • @killer2600
      @killer2600 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The small hose connector goes on the end of the large/return line inside the tank to keep that line from pulling out of the tank - from the factory very minimal amount of return line extends into the tank so this connector piece secures the hose from working itself out of the tank/hole.
