    Same year Escalade. I get the low oil pressure notification on startup and the gauge is a little slow after ignition to read. It sits at 21ish psi at idle and about 38-39 psi when cruising. Hoping it's just the sensor.

    Which engine was this again? This type didn't take a small filter down in the valley befor install the new switch? Some or most do amd is why they still throw code. Filter stop up. Looks almost like an orfis tube filter.

    • @Naturalgearhead
      @Naturalgearhead  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      2006 6.0L LQ9…no this engine did not have the filter down in the valley, but yes if it was a engine that used the filter style a “stopped up” filter would definitely mess with the pressure reading resulting in what your saying, this particular engine does not use that style 👍👍

      It’s very hard to say without being there…anytime I see oil pressure drop to zero I would be very concerned! You are gonna have to look into it more…always start with easy stuff, like checking oil level etc. I would be afraid to drive it unless I knew the source of the problem..good luck 👍

    While shopping for the sensor, there is a 'Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Filter' coming up. IS that something you had to (or could have) change at the same time?

    • @redryder8834
      @redryder8834 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes when the sensor is unthreaded the filter goes down inside the same hole. Therefore you need to pull the old one out with a pick tool. Some or most engines have one in the hole. They get clogged up easily so you may want to just leave it out

    • @Naturalgearhead
      @Naturalgearhead  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be…0 oil pressure indication could also be a number of other things, like a bad oil pump..wiring..etc. , but I would start with the sensor, as it is probably the easiest and are prone to failure..good luck!! 👍🤘

      Now that's strange, because the little tool with a hook on the end worked great to pull out the filter. I was surprised there was not many particles on it...Probably because the filter protects the sensor and doesn't trap the particles.@@hud351

    I just did this oil pressure sensor today and it isn't fun to thread the new one in, I ended up using a piece of tape on the sensor so it would fit firmly in the socket and started it by hand it made it easier to install and would have saved my hand and arm from carnage if I did this to begin with.

    I think u need to leave the cover off for atleast a day or two most of the Chevrolet vehicles are famous for oil pressure sensor leak and replacement of sensor is a bitch , I much rather go for ford vehicle where sensor actually located just next to the oil filter ……well thanks for sharing this video I hope it helps to so many , Bcoz most of the dealers workshop charge big money for that and lie to the customers about leaking of main seal replacement , where u can change by yourself just to buy that sensor if you know what u doing

      You could leave the cover off for a day or so, if you were worried about it leaking, but it’s really easy to take it off and on so it’s really up to the person doing the job….but yeah I definitely agree it’s in a bad spot and I wanted to put this video out to hopefully help people save themselves some money by doing it themselves or at least have an idea of how to do the job so they can decide if is something they are willing to tackle themselves or would be more comfortable just to have someone else do it. Thanks for the comment, and have a good one! 👍👍
