There's certainly a huge level of cultural support for it. As there is for men being so aggressively invested in their wife's children in western culture.
Note that in many other cultures, a man's heirs were his sisters' children, because he knew they were related to him, whereas his wife's children were a mystery. He still *had* a wife, with all the traditional domestic role relationships we westerners would recognise, but her children were her brothers' heirs.

The most dangerous person to anyone is a narcissist who you have to rely on financially. Be that a husband, a parent or other family member, friend, a welfare system as a whole, a boss who signs the checks, whomever. Try your best early to put yourself in a position to never need anyone financially - or in the case of a toxic boss, get a different job. We all need money to live. Therefore, we are all controlled by it. That's fine...that's a reality of modern life. Kind, mentally healthy people are safe, but do not EVER rely upon a highly narcissistic person or entity for your security. And as I also stated, this includes the government. Welfare isn't a long term solution to anything, it's government control. If you find yourself in these situations, do whatever you have to and get out. It may seem comfortable for a while, but giving away your personal power in the long run is the recipe for a miserable life - emotionally, physically, and financially speaking.

Monogamy is not natural to humans unless they stop acting and thinking like animals and begin to understand that they are a very special creation of God created in His image: intellgent, and rational not acting based on instinc but with reason, with conscience, with love...

Monogamy is natural to humans. Non-monogamy isn’t due to the simple fact that multitasking especially when managing relationships has shown in research to be inefficient. Meaning that if many relationships are being managed, aspects of a relationship or many relationships will be neglected. When children are involved it’s chaos, their needs aren’t ever met. The Bible perfectly demonstrates this with stories of David and Solomon.

It's really only where men try to own women as the means of production of the next generation that men start murdering women on a whim - which suggests it could be just as much "my woman is my property and I can kill my property if I want to" as any anxiety over who fathered her children that is the key feature of men who kill women.
Compare how these men treat the wife they think might cheat on them with how they treat the men they think she might cheat with. I love this podcast and I listened to this episode in its entirety. I have to say, the thumbnail on this episode is problematic and at a glance, feeds racial stereotypes. Simone made a poor decision to use the image of a black man with a red circle around his face. This podcast is far above clickbait so don’t cheapen the podcast and this episode and its brilliant guest with the use of clickbait thumbnails.

It's not because the two times when women are most often killed point to social and individual psychology, not evolutionary psychology. Women are most likely to be killed when they become pregnant and when they try to leave. And these killers admit that they killed them bc they WERE pregnant with their kid, not bc they suspect they are not. They kill the pregnant woman bc they are not ready to be fathers, which totally goes against the idea that they kill to ensure paternity. This has way more to do with the individual psychology of the man than evolutionary drives. When men who are coercive controllers kill women who are trying to leave, the other reason, it is bc they lose the benefits of that relationship that coercive control ensures. In other words, men who are aggressive sexists (as opposed to benevolent sexists) actively terrorize women they are in relationships because it BENEFITS them. They may or may not protect and provide, but they demand servitude because it benefits them. Check out both Lundy Bancroft and the Duluth model.

Marriage evolved in patriarchal society where lineage and property is passed down from father to sons, in a matrilineal society the identity of the father is secondary to the mother. In matrilineal and matriarchal society violence and rape are very low. These women stay in the family home and their children are raised by uncles and brothers. The fathers stay in their family homes and raise their nephews and nieces.

To keep things in perspective. Around 300,000 women die a year from heart disease. Around 5000 are murdered. 4000 by an intimate partner. So your odds of being murdered in the US by your husband is tiny. Of course you increase those odds by behaviors such as sex outside the marriage. Not to mention 15,000 women a year die in car accidents. Arguably those individuals involved would be the more dangerous individual.

I encourage people to listen to Judge Joe Brown talk about Ike Turner and Tina Turner. He was an eye witness to both in LA, and tells a VERY different story as to who was the aggressor in that relationship. But since we are in a society that has a hard time seeing females having the capability of being a perpetrator, and a near impossible time seeing males as victims, we naturally assume the male was the at fault.

I have to disagree with you. Women break up with men slowly. She will tell the man what is bothering her, ask him to acknowledge the problem and suggest solutions for months, sometimes years. When a woman stops “nagging”, talking about the problems, it’s not because the problems have been solved. It’s because she’s over it and ready to move on. That’s when men should pay attention;when she stops talking/caring about fixing the problems, she’s already moved on.

We often say women are the most emotionally mature, so couldn’t we see this behavior or soft complaining as a preparation, as a form of practice or rehearsal, till they are ready to finally take the plunge.
