For how long have you used their products, how did you use them, and which products have you used and with what did you combine them? And can you list your AM and/or PM routine? And are you already prone to breakouts and blackheads, and what's your skin type?
I love this stuff. It has changed my life. If you have bad acne maybe try what I have tried. So what I started doing is instead of using liquid foundation I switched to powder foundations. I then started using panoxyl face wash in the morning, then moisturizing with the panoxyl moisturizer. I then will do my light make up look to make sureit doesn't clog my pores. At night, use a miscellar water make up remover, then wash face with the panoxyl, then a light moisturizer like aveeno for example. This way you aren't using too many different things. She is right about the bleaching!! Some of my pillow cases got bleached at first but then I realized I wasn't completely washing it off. So just be thorough and you will be fine. :)
@@fhhnaa hey!! I use the 10%, also for everyone else, I’ve still been using this exact method a year later and my skin really has never looked better. I am so grateful because it took me years to find something that worked!
Hi! I’m buying thins product tomorrow so I’m really glad that I found your video, but I have a question; I currently use the Aveeno Clear Complexion moisturizer with 0.5% of salicylic acid, so I was wondering if I could use them together at night, or if it would be better to alternate the these specific products. Maybe use one in the morning and the other in the evening. My routine goes like this: AM: 1. I don’t cleanse my face in the mornings, just wash it gently with water 2. Aveeno moisturizer with salicylic acid 3. CeraVe daily moisturizer with SPF 30 PM: 1. I double cleanse: First with Albolene oil cleanser for my makeup and sunscreen and then Cetaphil daily cleanser 2. Aveeno moisturizer (the same one) 3. CeraVe PM facial moisturizer I’ll be forever grateful for your help; and thank you once again for this video 🌸
Hey! :) Yes, you can Panoxyl's Cleanser with Aveeno's moisturizer. However, I recommend getting their 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser instead as it isn't as irritating especially if you are new to Benzoyl Peroxide. Also, you do not need to use 2 Moisturizers in the AM and PM.
Hi, I hope you could help me building my skincare routine. I have an oily sensitive acne prone skin, I've used a lot of products already but none of them works but seeing this video made me want to try the PanOxyl cleanser. This is how I plan to do my skincare routine: AM PanOxyl Cleanser The Ordinary Niacinamide (do I have to wait before using this?) Sunscreen PM PanOxyl Cleanser The Ordinary Niacinamide (is there a waiting time?) I want to keep my routine minimal as much as possible. Last question, which one do you recommend for my skin, the 4% or the 10%? Thank you so much!!!
Hey! :) I recommend getting their 4% BP Cleanser. You could use your BP in the AM and maybe a gentle Cleanser (for oily skin) in the PM. To reduce sensitivity. After you have washed your face with the cleanser, take a towel and pat the skin dry and then move on to Niacinamide (2-3 drops). Also, consider changing your diet since this may be the reason why you are breaking out.
Hi Paula! I really enjoy your videos as skincare is a confusing area for me. I was wondering if you could share your opinion on my skincare routine and if there should be switches. I have oily sensitive skin. I tend to breakout pretty bad on the areas near my nose or on my upper lip Am: Cleanser: Panoxyle 4% cleanser Toner: Good Molecules Niacinamide brightening toner The ordinary Hyloronic acid Spot treatment CeraVe moisturizer Pm: Cleanse: CeraVe normal facial wash or Panoxyle 10% ( 2-3x a week) Toner: Paula’s Choice 2% BHA (about every other day) The ordinary Salicylic acid ( on days I don’t use PC) The ordinary Hyloronic acid The ordinary Niacinamide CeraVe Moisturizer I also use the BHA+AHA the ordinary peeling solution once a week.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Hi Melissa, I have been doing this routine for a couple months. I think the root cause it because I have pretty oily skin. I also think I need to Divvy up my diet as well as drink more water. It’s not horrible breakouts, it more like 2-3 huge zits that tend to scar even without popping. Also, idk why I said Paula lol. I think I was thinking Paula’s choice.
@@mollylast171 Do they always show up that the same place? If so, where do you get them? Yes, I think that what you eat plays a huge role in what your skin will look like even with the oiliness. People often call me Paula but I don't know why🤷🏻♀😅
This was very helpful, thanks! Should I use again a gentle cleanser afterwards since it’s specific for acne areas? And can it be a salicylic acid cleanser? Also, can I use any chemical exfoliating products with it like aha bha pha, or spot acne treatments?
I would do it the other way around, like this: th-cam.com/users/shortshdZKPkiwx7U. And I think it's not necessary; in addition, you could consider adding retinol. I have such a routine, which you can find right here: th-cam.com/video/zq9w8rd8rd8/w-d-xo.html
No, I recommend using either one of them or using your BP cleanser in the AM and a regular cleanser, plus a Salicylic Acid Toner or Serum in the PM, or on alternate days.
Why when i use it there’s no foam? I use it on certain area on my body parts that have acne but it seems like I didn’t put anything because there’s no residue at all.
Hey I just wanted your advice on what my routine would look like: AM: Cerave gentle cleanser + Panoxyl cleanser (4%) + cerave moisturizer PM: Cerave gentle cleanser + Panoxyl cleanser (4%) + cerave moisturizer or do you think double cleansing both morning and night is a bad idea?
You do not need to double cleanse in your case. I recommend doing it like this: AM: - Gentle Cleanser or Panoxyl's Cleanser - Moisturizer - SPF PM: - Gentle Cleanser or Panoxyl's Cleanser - Moisturizer You can use Panoxyl's Cleanser once or twice per day daily if your skin can tolerate it.
@@MonesahBuson Yes, that's okay. However, the combination can be drying for your skin. Therefore, I suggest using a hydrating toner or serum along with it. For instance, you can try using a Hyaluronic Acid serum.
See here: th-cam.com/video/fhNcAkPdC4s/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared However, I also recommend investigating the root causes of your acne, such as lack of sleep, stress or mental health issues, environmental factors (air & water quality, washing detergent, etc), or your diet (such as consuming too much added sugar, processed food, fast food, or any food intolerance; like soy, milk, bread (gluten), eggs, chicken, etc).
I have combination skin type. Recently i am using the panoxyl face wash. I have a lot of acne and acne scars in my cheeks and this area is mainly dry. Which moisturiser should i use? Cerave’s moisturising cream or lotion? Please reply.
I was on accutane about 6 years ago & I hardly broke out after I finished. Now within the last year my acne has gotten bad again (not as bad as before accutane) & I am struggling. I mainly break out around my chin, but the acne are about dime sized. I just started this routine: AM: -PanOxyl 10% Acne Foaming -CeraVe AM Sunscreen & Moisturizer PM: -CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser -CeraVe PM Moisturizer Then I am starting Tret. 3 times a week. Does this sound helpful or should I change something?
I think that is a great routine, and I am following something similar. Still, have you changed anything recently? 🤔 It may be related to food, stress, or lifestyle changes.
I have a question, should I use panoxyl in the morning or evening? right now I am using it before bed, after showering, like this: PM: shower cerave foaming facial cleanser panoxyl 10% acne foaming please give feedback thanks :) and no I am not using anything in the morning
Hi, I got rid of my acne; I have Post-inflammatory erythema and am using niacinamide (the ordinary) and salicylic acid (noreva actipur 3 in 1). Can I use panoxyl 10% as a cleanser or cerave blemish control cleanser ? Or is there a risk of acne reappearing?
Personally, I would not add such products. If you've managed to get rid of the acne, your main goal now should be to fade the post-inflammatory erythema. This condition will likely disappear on its own, though it may take several months. The best thing you can do is to protect your skin from sunlight whenever possible, allowing it to heal naturally.
I was looking for a video just like this! I started Benzac Wash 5%. Yesterday was my first day. I used a product to remove sunscreen and makeup. Followed with Benzac Wash. Left the product for about 2 minutes because it was the first time (the instructions say it can be left up to 5 minutes). Applied toner/essence, serum, and moisturizer with squalane drops. Benzac wash was didn't feel like a cleanser. It was almost like a cream. Do you think I need to add a cleanser before applying the wash? I thought it could be drying and just kept things minimal. I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much!
Hey! :) I have tried a few Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and they all feel like treatments not like a cleanser that washes your face. So, if you wear sunscreen and/or makeup throughout the day, I recommend using Micellar Water, Oil or Balm Cleanser or a Gentle Cleanser at first to wash your face and then use your Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser to treat your acne. That's how I do it as well and so far it works well for my skin.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much for replying! It's a relief to know that I'm doing things properly. I truly appreciate the feedback because I'm new to Benzoyl Peroxide products. Once again, thank you. Happy New Year ❤
hi! i just started using panoxyl, but i was wondering if its okay to use the other products I use in my routines at the same time.. AM routine: panoxyl face wash toner niacinamide moisturizer sunscreen PM routine: panoxyl face wash toner niacinamide retinol moisturizer
Hey! :) Do you use the 10% BP Cleanser? Also, what toner and Retinol do you use? What's the strength of your Retinol and for how long have you been using it? Overall the routine looks good, however Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser is pretty intense. I'm not use if you can use it daily in the AM and PM. I recommend adding a gentle cleanser as well to alternate.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Yes, I started using the 10% BP cleanser last week. I use the Cerave resurfacing retinol and Dickinson’s witch hazel toner. What kind of gentle cleansers do you recommend, and should I use it at AM or PM?
@@audreykim73 Ok, so I recommend using your Niacinamide serum in the AM only and CeraVe's Retinol in the PM. CeraVe's Retinol contains already Niacinamide, therefore you do not need to use your Niacinamide serum twice. Have a look at CeraVe, Cetaphil, La Roche Posay or Paula's Choice. Paula's Choice has great cleansers and often great deals as well! :)
When it comes to benzoyl peroxide face washes, what do we do about the rest of our face which may not need the BP wash? Is it safe to apply to the whole face, or should we wash the non-BP requiring parts first with a 'regular' cleanser and then after rinsing that off use the BP wash on the necessary areas?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you for responding! Is double rinsing okay? I suppose if I moisturise my face afterwards it shouldn't be too drying, right?
I just bought this wash. I have been using tretinoin / adapelene alternatively in the nights. Can I use this before tretinoin? I have just gotten off 8 months of antibiotics for acne and want to remain clear from now on. So I’m trying to introduce really potent things in my routine. Thanks !
Después de lavarme la cara puedo usar Neutrogena hydro boost water gel? Actualmente tengo acné. Así que quería saber si es recomendable aplicar algo después de lavarme la cara con Panoxyl 10%
Hi! I love your videos but I have a bit of a problem. I've been using the cerave acne foaming cream cleanser 2 times a day followed by either the pm or am moisturising lotion for 36 days. The acne on my forehead still hasn't gone away but some acne in my cheeks did go away but there are new ones now. I've run out of the acne foaming cleanser, should I switch to the more affordable panoxyl 4 percent or 10 percent. Or should I continue using the acne foaming cream cleanser. Thanks wish you could respond ❤ (I did experience some mild irritation at first when i leave it for 2 min or 3 min but now i dont feel any irritation and my skin is generally dry but sweaty)
Well, personally, I have not yet achieved an entirely clear forehead, since I have not figured out the underlying cause of it. I assume it must be related to stress or certain food I consume, so that would be something for you to look at. But yes, you can use the 4%; it's just as effective from my experience as the 10%, but with less irritation. Also, the formulation suits me better than CeraVe; maybe that is also the case for you. :) I always have some mild irritation or redness when using it too often. Therefore, I only use it now when I have acne flare-ups, and as soon as the acne has no "stuff" in it anymore, I stop. So I only use it to target the areas like so: th-cam.com/users/shortshdZKPkiwx7U
Since my acne disappeared thanks to the penoxil 10% benzoyl peroxide. I have not stopped using it, I use it twice in the morning and night. The question is if my routine is good. In the morning I wash my face for 3 minutes and then I apply sunscreen, at night I wash my face with the same cleanser for 3 minutes and then I use cerave pm moisturizer. My face doesn't get irritated, it just gets a little dry, my skin tolerates it very well and I don't get pimples as often. What do you think?
Hey! :) What cleanser do you currently use? Overall the steps that you are currently doing are the most important ones! :) Only use a moisturizer if you experience dryness.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I only use Panoxyl 10% Benzoyl peroxide. It's my everyday cleanser. Question is that I don't have acne anymore but I still use panoxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide as my primary cleanser.

Hi paula, i have a question. I have a oily skin. And having problem with the acnes. Should i be following this process? And what about the panoxyl moisturizer
Are you using subtitles when watching the video? If so, what language? Yes, you can follow the process I shared in the video. And you can use their moisturizer with SPF during the day if needed. Personally, I do not like it that much. I have other sunscreens I like more. Example COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream or Paula's Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50
If I’m going to use the panoxyl cleanser is the cetaphil moisturizer good to pair with it. And I’m having trouble figuring what other products I can use such as an exfoliate or other serums from ordinary to help with acne that pair well with panoxyl. I want a simple routine that will help get rid of red acne prone skin. Would greatly appreciate any feedback.
That moisturizer is too heavy for your skin. Instead, I recommend trying this routine that should work well for you! How to use Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and Differin Gel for Acne-Prone Skin: th-cam.com/video/nu1Wo9O_6e0/w-d-xo.html
Hi melisa. Please guide me. I am planning on using panoxyl bezyole oxide 10% facewash , then Axis-y dark spot correcting glow serum and then Axis-y stress free physical sunscreen. I get a new acne every week and they leave dark spots. Is this routine sounds good?.
Yes, you can do that. However, you will continue to experience acne until you identify its root cause, which can be quite challenging. These treatments primarily help to manage the symptoms a bit better.
If i have sunscreen/sunscreen+makeup on is it enough to use miceller water (the pink cap from garnier) before applying bezoyl peroxide? Also how long should i rub the product in?
Yes, if micellar water can remove it properly, which it should. Then wet your face and apply the Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser. After that, massage it on the affected areas for about a minute or 1-2. (you can also massage it for a bit and leave it on there for 1-2 minutes but no longer) From my experience, the longer you leave it on, the more irritation you will get, so I advise you to not leave it on for several minutes; it just gave me more redness and dryness but not more benefits; it works quickly and 1-2 minutes should be enough!
Hi. I use this 3 times a week, it okay to apply on your neck? Or on neck once a week whilst doing face or monthly? I use it to keep my skin clean because I get whitehead breakouts during my monthly cycle, which leave blemishes.
If you have sunscreen and makeup on the skin, yes. Otherwise no. Unless you are only using Panoxyl's Cleanser on a specific area and not all over your face. Have you already bought Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser? No, please do not use PC BHA afterwards, this can be quite drying and irritating. Use PC BHA with a gentle cleanser instead.
Hi, i wanted to see if this routine could help clear up my hormonal break out. I have sensitive, combination, acne prone skin. Hey! :) Have you already bought those products, specifically Panoxyl's 10% BP cleanser? If so do I still wash it off or leave it on? My aunt recommend it for me because I have really bad acne but she didn't really tell me what to do with it.
I recommend using them at separate times to reduce signs of dryness and Irritation. So, like this: AM: - Panoxyl Cleanser - Sunscreen PM: - Gentle Cleanser - Differin Gel
Using an Oil or Balm cleanser helps to break down any type of sunscreen and/or makeup. Whereas a gentle/regular cleanser often has difficulties breaking down waterproof or extremely pigmented makeup or even mineral sunscreen.
It depends on the vitamin c serum you have and your skin tolerance. Generally, if you have an Ascorbic Acid serum with 15%+, it may lead to irritation. But if you have a derivative or one with a lower % it may work well.
Hey Melissa, I am using 10% panoxyl for 3 weeks, but I don’t see any significant changes, rather there is new 2-3 acne everyday. I am using Only this product rn. Should I stop using this?
Hmm, if it has improved, I would still continue using it for a bit longer. It's normal to get new acne if you do not find the actual cause of it, but it should improve over time. How often do you use it? 🤔

Hello! For the past 3 years I’ve been using tretinoin cream but the past 3 almost 4 months I’ve been using it consistently (every 3-4 days). I was wondering while I’m using the panoxyl can I also continue using the tretinoin?
Yes, however, it depends on how much sensitivity tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide are causing. So technically, you can even use them on the same day or in the same routine. But the best and easiest way to adjust to both products would be to alternate them daily to see how well you tolerate it. It is really about figuring out a frequency that works best for your individual skin needs, I can't help you much with that.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you! I wasn’t sure because I have heard that using benzoyl peroxide with tretinoin can cause the tret to be less effective.
"Skin pores are tiny openings on the skin that serve as a passage for hair follicles, oil glands and sweat glands. Pores help regulate body temperature, hydration levels and allow for the release of sweat, sebum, and other bodily secretions. They play an important role in keeping the skin healthy and protected." You can regulate skin oiliness and therefore reduce the appearance with specific treatments. From my experience, it works best with retinol or retinoid such as Adapalene (differin gel).

Hey! :) Skip the moisturizer. If you have oily skin, you do not need to use a moisturizer. You may just want to reach for a hydrating Toner/Essence or Serum instead so that it hydrates the skin but does not leave a heavy feeling afterwards. You should see a reduction in acne within 2 weeks (+/-)... Still, it's just a treatment, not a cure. So, you would need to know what's causing your acne to make it stop.
Hii! Thank you for this! I would like to ask a few things! I have the Panoxyl 4%, 10% and cerave foaming cleanser. Ok, well this can be pretty intense sooner or later. I recommend starting with the 4% only. Their 10% can be pretty drying and irritating. I've tried both and I got great results with their 4% with less dryness and irritation. Use that one once or twice per day. You can always alternate between your BP cleanser and gentle cleanser.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you so much for your advice! I will stick to the 4% one then :) If i dont experience drying or irritating, can i still use the 10%?

Can I follow up with niacinamide/tranexamic acid serums after washing with benzoyl peroxide facewash?Or is it best to avoid actives all together that day?
You can, but often these serums are not hydrating enough when used after Benzoyl Peroxide. In that case, you may need to use an additional hydrating serum before or a light gel moisturizer after applying the serum. For example, you can try The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid or their Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan.
Hi! Thank you for the video! Question: Can it bleach my brows or hair? sometimes I get crazy breakouts when I get a fade on the side of my head and I‘m scared of it bleaching my hair. and if I use it on my face: should I avoid brows and beard/mustache area? that‘s also where I get pimples sometimes. Thank you very much 🥰
Also: Is there such thing as a Benzoyl P ‚overdose‘ ? I ordered it but I also use the La Roche Posay Effaclar Serum + Effaclar Duo in combination because all 3 contain Benzoyl P?
You are good to go if you do not leave it on your hair for a long time. So, if you just cleanse your face and it is only exposed to the product for 1-2 minutes, you won't have any issues. And yes, if you use multiple products with Benzoyl Peroxide for a more extended period, it could lead to redness, dryness, or even bumps on the skin as the skin cannot handle it anymore. So best to use only 1 Benzoyl Peroxide product at a time. Or, for example, if you use the cleanser, you could still "spot treat" the pimples with a gel, but don't use it all over. That is at least my experience and what has worked well for me.

Hey! :) What Vitamin C do you use? How much acne do you have? Do you still get active acne? Use Azelaic Acid in the AM while using Vitamin C as well. Hey! :) I keep my Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser in the shower. I haven't had any issues at all by doing so. I always make sure that my doors in the bathroom are open so that air can flow through and not stay that hot/humid in it.
Can I add Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser for sensitive and oily skin cleanser and wash it and use pan oxly and then wear a moisturizer with sun screen in the morning and At night Use pan oxly again and use a night time moisturizer?
Hey! :) So, you want to use 2 Cetaphil Cleansers + Panoxyl Cleanser before applying your moisturizer with sunscreen? Why do you want to do that? Just use your Panoxyl Cleanser in the morning and a regular cleanser (either Cetaphil Gentle Skin cleanser for dry skin or Oily Skin cleanser for oily skin) in the evening to properly remove any excess oil, dirt, sweat, sunscreen, and/or makeup from the skin. You can also use Panoxyl's Cleanser twice per day (morning and evening) and just use your regular cleanser if you need a break from your Panoxyl Cleanser :)

Hello Melissa, thank you so much for your videos, I have a question pls, I am literally suffering from butt acne, and just bought panoxyl 10%, and need to know how long should I let it in my butt before washing it, can I like leave it for an hour?
Hey, Leave it on for about 2 minutes, then rinse it off. Are you experiencing this issue due to shaving, or is it possibly because you're wearing non-breathable underwear? Also, if you're dealing with acne in that area, and if benzoyl peroxide isn't helping, I recommend consulting a doctor, as it could be a fungal infection or something similar.
Llevo utilizando este producto por 2 semanas y No siento mi piel irritada o roja . Es necesario utilizar hidrante o entonces no? (Tengo piel acné con grasa)
You can, yes, if that's fine for your skin. However, it can also lead to sensitivity, especially if you are using Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser because that one is pretty intense. Either use no moisturizer at all and just use a hydrating toner/essence or serum or use a gentle moisturizer.
I have never used Kojic Acid so I'm not sure about this combination. However, Panoxyl's 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser is pretty intense that I wouldn't use anything harsh afterwards. I just would use something hydrating or may a Niacinamide serum...something that isn't too acidic.
@@duaasaif7408 From my experience, it works best when applying it all over the affected area and then leaving it on for 1 minute or so, not too long. Often, you can read 5 minutes or so, but I think most of them(or all) did not really test it themself as otherwise, they would have noticed that this can really lead to problems. 😅
The Effaclar duo + (gel/cream) I think that this may work, but the serum will be too much. The more often you combine these products, the higher the chances of experiencing sensitivity, so the frequency also matters a lot. But ultimately, you need to test it to see what works. Still, be careful with that serum!
Hello:) can I use this every morning? Or just twice or theee times a week? I don’t put much on my face. I just use a cerave cleanser, cerave moisturizer and spf. Used to use other products but it didn’t help my acne.
You can use it daily in the AM and PM. However, their 10% is pretty intense where it's best to use it less often otherwise, it may cause excessive dryness and irritation. So, start with once per day every other day. Do this for some time before using it more often. Or look into their 4% one! :)
Hi I was wondering it is normal for my PanOxyl BP 10% foam wash to smell like bubbles? Some people are saying how it smells like bleach or chlorine but I don’t really get that because of the lack of that sharp piercing smell, or maybe I just don’t know what chlorine or bleach smells like for them. Anyway is it normal for it to smell like that?
Hey! :) Well, it doesn't smell like chlorine-the scent you would smell at a public swimming pool-but it kind of smells like bleach, like a cleaning product for the bathroom. It's not a sweet or sour smell. I hope that makes sense-haha!
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet That actually helps a lot it does smell like a cleaning product, like the soapy bubbly smell at least. Thanks for the reply!
Hey! :) Please do not use anything containing Salicylic Acid, Retinol/Retinoid, strong Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), etc...this can lead to more dryness and/or sensitivity. Look for a hydrating toner or serum and 5% or 10% Niacinamide serum instead...like The Ordinary or Minimalist offers :)

How often do you use it? If daily, I recommend using it less often. The 10% is very potent, and I do not use it anymore because of the dryness; I couldn't manage it well. I now use the 4%, and it works much better. So use it less often, and if that still does not help you change to the 4%.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet 2 times a day I guess🥲 okay I’ll try to use it less often. Actually I mainly use it to treat acnes in my back, but these days I kinda have some in my face so I use it for my face too. The back does not occur anything but the face does😭 anw thanks a lot for your advice!

Small bumps after using benzoyl peroxide could be a skin irritation known as contact dermatitis. This is a common side effect of benzoyl peroxide, especially for those with sensitive skin. To reduce the risk of developing contact dermatitis, start by using a lower concentration of benzoyl peroxide and gradually increase it as your skin adjusts. It's also important to avoid using other potentially irritating products, such as harsh soaps, exfoliating scrubs, or alcohol-based toners, at the same time. If the irritation persists, stop using benzoyl peroxide and consult a dermatologist for an alternative treatment.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet i dont face any irritation while using this but i’ll make sure to reduce the usage as well as switch to 4% wash. Thanks alot!
@@t.tanzim I generally think that the 10% is too strong and that the 4% does the same job with less irritation. Or it even works better because you can use it more often!
From my experience, it is best to alternate. If you only do it for a short period, it may work, but when doing it repeatedly, it will irritate the skin; it is just a matter of time.

Hey! :) I recommend getting their 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser. Also, just use that cleanser on the spots, you do not have to use it all over. You can use your BP Cleanser in the AM and Gentle Cleanser + Acne Treatment in the PM, that's fine.
You can, and if you only use it once a day, it probably works well. But first, use it on its own to see how your skin behaves before using them together. From my experience, issues start only after using it regularly and mainly when using it too often. So if you experience dryness, balance it with a moisturizer or use it less often.
Hi Melissa, question; I see you tested the differin daily cleanser 2 months ago, do you prefer differin or Panoxyl as a benzoyl peroxide cleanser? I’m doubting between the 4% panoxyl creamy or the differin daily deep cleanser
Hey 🙃 Generally, benzoyl peroxide is a very potent acne-fighting ingredient but it can be too harsh for rosacea-prone skin. It might worsen inflammation, redness, and cause skin irritation. Thus, it's not typically recommended for individuals with this skin condition.
@@JhgpJhgf Yes, you can, but again, it depends on your personal skin tolerance. The frequency of use during the day, as well as what other products you may be using during the day or week, will influence this.

I always have some mild irritation or redness when using it too often.
Hey! :)

Overall the steps that you are currently doing are the most important ones! :) Only use a moisturizer if you experience dryness.

How to use Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and Differin Gel for Acne-Prone Skin:
th-cam.com/video/nu1Wo9O_6e0/w-d-xo.html
Can it remove bad odor?
I do not recommend using it on your armpits.
(you can also massage it for a bit and leave it on there for 1-2 minutes but no longer)
From my experience, the longer you leave it on, the more irritation you will get, so I advise you to not leave it on for several minutes; it just gave me more redness and dryness but not more benefits; it works quickly and 1-2 minutes should be enough!
Hi. I use this 3 times a week, it okay to apply on your neck? Or on neck once a week whilst doing face or monthly? I use it to keep my skin clean because I get whitehead breakouts during my monthly cycle, which leave blemishes.
Technically, yes. However, you need to test it and see how your neck tolerates the 10% strength. Otherwise, use their 4% BP cleanser instead :)
1. Should i use a light cleanser before applying this?
2. Can i use the paula's choice bha afterwards?
If you have sunscreen and makeup on the skin, yes. Otherwise no. Unless you are only using Panoxyl's Cleanser on a specific area and not all over your face.
Have you already bought Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser?
No, please do not use PC BHA afterwards, this can be quite drying and irritating. Use PC BHA with a gentle cleanser instead.

Overall the routine looks good, however, I wonder if it isn't too harsh since you are using two products that contain 2% of Salicylic Acid + in the PM such a strong 10% BP cleanser.
I also recommend looking into an antioxidant serum/cream.

@@happyfree3509 What other products did you get?
Yes, start with Panoxyl's 4%. You do not have to use the cleanser all over, just use it on the affected areas like your jawline and forehead.
You can use this cleanser once or twice per day, see what your skin can tolerate and when not using the BP Cleanser, use Cetaphil's Gentle Cleanser.
Can I use this before using my serum?
The serum i use:
(Morning)The ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8%+..Alpha Arbutin2%
(Night)The ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane
In the morning, yes. However, in the evening, it would be too potent. It is best to use a mild foaming cleanser before applying the 1% retinol.

Hi! What is the difference between double cleansing with a gentle cleanser versus an oil cleanser? Is the oil cleanser only if you wear makeup?
Using an Oil or Balm cleanser helps to break down any type of sunscreen and/or makeup. Whereas a gentle/regular cleanser often has difficulties breaking down waterproof or extremely pigmented makeup or even mineral sunscreen.
Hi, i was wondering what is better between the 4% and the 10% panoxyl. Can you use it at night when using a exfoliater 2 a week? Thank you❤
I prefer the 4% one. The 10% is too potent for me personally. But yes, you may be able to use it with your exfoliant IF your skin tolerates it.
Hello! Thank you so much for this video! Can I use my Vitamin C serum after the Panoxyl 10% BP?
It depends on the vitamin c serum you have and your skin tolerance. Generally, if you have an Ascorbic Acid serum with 15%+, it may lead to irritation. But if you have a derivative or one with a lower % it may work well.

It is really about figuring out a frequency that works best for your individual skin needs, I can't help you much with that.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you! I wasn’t sure because I have heard that using benzoyl peroxide with tretinoin can cause the tret to be less effective.

Which product should be use for open pores remove?
"Skin pores are tiny openings on the skin that serve as a passage for hair follicles, oil glands and sweat glands. Pores help regulate body temperature, hydration levels and allow for the release of sweat, sebum, and other bodily secretions. They play an important role in keeping the skin healthy and protected."
You can regulate skin oiliness and therefore reduce the appearance with specific treatments. From my experience, it works best with retinol or retinoid such as Adapalene (differin gel).

Hey! :)
Skip the moisturizer.

Hey Paula. I’m new to your channel. So I’ve just bought panoxyl to treat my acnes. But dryness seems to occur a lot in my face, even though I used moisturizer after. (Garnier cleanser, klairs toner, the ordinary B5, vitamin tree water-gel) what should I do?
@@namnguyen7608 Yes, so best to use it less often. 2 times a day is a lot for the 10%.
hey,I use panoxyl 10% wash every other day. This has helped me with pustules, however i got small bumps/texture on my forehead and chin. Can i add the somebymi aha bha pha toner into my routine if i bring down the usage of panoxyl to 2 times a week(or switch to 4% wash)?
Can i use panoxyl 4% creamy wash and paula’s choice bha exfoliant at the same routine or should i alternate between them?
From my experience, it is best to alternate. If you only do it for a short period, it may work, but when doing it repeatedly, it will irritate the skin; it is just a matter of time.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet oh ok thanks alot
Hi there! Can I use differin after washing my face with BPO?
I recommend using them in different routines. See here:
How to use Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and Differin Gel for Acne-Prone Skin: th-cam.com/video/nu1Wo9O_6e0/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! You're the best
Very thorough thank you!
Hey, would it be okay if I apply this right before i shower and cleansing it off while in the shower? Or does that make it less effective? Thanks 👍🏻
Yes, you can also use it in the shower or before, just make sure to apply it to wet skin.
Can I use it daily? With epiduo gel after washing my face
No, Epiduo already contains Benzoyl Peroxide, so do not do that.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
Thank you.
Can I use CeraVe retinol alongside epiduo? I'm using epiduo gel every night and if I use retinol only on the days I don't use epiduo will it be too harsh for the skin?
I have never used retinols before
@@nanna1334 Your Epiduo already contains Benzoyl Peroxide and Adapalene. Adapalene is a Retinoid, so there is no need to use another Retinol.

Hello can i use cerave hydrating cleanser before i use panoxyl?
Yes you can! :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet oh my god you replied thank you! ❤️
Hey, I currently use the cerave foaming cleanser in the morning and might, as well as the duac clindamycin + anhydrous benzoyl peroxide at night for acne, it's worked well but im going to get the PanOxyl 10% wash to help get rid of the few spots i have still. My plan is to use the panoxyl wash in the morning and cerave in the evening, but not sure if i should also use the cerave in the morning aswell like you said in the vid or if that would be too much? Also do you recommend the 10% or would a lower % be better? Most times i only have 2-3 spots
Hey! :)
I recommend getting their 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser. Also, just use that cleanser on the spots, you do not have to use it all over.
You can use your BP Cleanser in the AM and Gentle Cleanser + Acne Treatment in the PM, that's fine.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet alright, thanks for the advice, much appreciated. Its nice that you still reply to every comment
I was just researching this cleanser and up pops this video 😀 Question - Can you use this cleanser at nights before applying retinoids or acids?
You can, and if you only use it once a day, it probably works well. But first, use it on its own to see how your skin behaves before using them together.
From my experience, issues start only after using it regularly and mainly when using it too often. So if you experience dryness, balance it with a moisturizer or use it less often.
Hi Melissa, question; I see you tested the differin daily cleanser 2 months ago, do you prefer differin or Panoxyl as a benzoyl peroxide cleanser?
I’m doubting between the 4% panoxyl creamy or the differin daily deep cleanser
Hey! :)
Both are great. However, I prefer Differin's BP cleanser. It seems to be a bit gentler than Panoxyl.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank u!
Hey 👋🏻
I was wondering if i can use panoxyl after cleansing my skin with cerave sa??
why would you do that 🤔
How many times a week to use it as a beginner?
You can start with once per day, every other day.
I use dove bar soap to wash my face naturally and then like I use PanOyl
Yes, that's fine too! :)
Hi Melissa ❤️ can i use this product on rosacea ( acne) ? 🙏
Hey 🙃
Generally, benzoyl peroxide is a very potent acne-fighting ingredient but it can be too harsh for rosacea-prone skin. It might worsen inflammation, redness, and cause skin irritation. Thus, it's not typically recommended for individuals with this skin condition.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
Is paoxyl10%for daily use ?
@@JhgpJhgf Yes, you can, but again, it depends on your personal skin tolerance. The frequency of use during the day, as well as what other products you may be using during the day or week, will influence this.

Hey! :)
What else do you currently use (other than your cleanser and niacinamide)?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet As my night routine, i double cleanse starting with cleansing balm and then my SA cleanser, followed by TO niacinamide, Hydrating moisturizer and finally TO azelaic acid.(I put my hydrating moisturizer first because it is very watery and the azelaic acid has thicker consistency) at morning I wash with a gentle cleanser followed by TO alpha arbutin and finally my moisturizing sunscreen

Hi Melissa ♥️. I have oily acne prone skin. I just purchased some Panoxyl yesterday. I need your advice on my skincare routine.
In the morning I use the Panoxyl 10% cleanser then Garnier toner and Cetaphil moisturizer with SPF.
I have dark spots on my face what serum or acid can I add to my skincare routine. Your response will be appreciated ♥️
Hey! :)
Do you have a lot of acne?
I don't know why people always buy Panoxyl's 10% Benzoyl Peroxide (which can be pretty drying and irritating on the skin) when they can get their 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser as well, which I find works just as good and is less irritating on the skin.
Have a look at brightening ingredients like Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin C, Niacinamide or Tranexamic Acid. Just go with one of two.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you for your response Melissa. I don't have a lot of acne but I have like dark spots on my face. Okay I will switch to Panoxyl 4% , is that one safer to use twice a day or will I have to alternate with a gentle cleanser. Also I will need your advice seeing that I have oily acne prone skin. Please which serum can work best between Niacinamide and Vitamin C serum
@@suwim7934 Ok.
Yes, it's best to go with their 4%.
You can use it in the morning and evening. However, you still need to test if you can use it twice per day. Otherwise alternate with another gentle cleanser. Or use the Panoxyl Cleanser in the AM and a Balm cleanser (to remove sunscreen and makeup) in the PM.
Have a look at either a Niacinamide and Tranexamic Acid blend (like Good Molecules) or look for a Vitamin C serum (Geek & Gorgeous, La Roche Posay, Paula's Choice, Timeless...)

I think it's best to use a spot treatment with Benzoyl Peroxide (4-5%) for closed comedones. Not sure if the cleanser will work.
