@@ThommyofThenn it was cut from the game before launch. you can get it via console commands though. there's no weapon mods for it and it uses the fallout 4 10mm pistol animations (dev placeholder probably) so it looks very wrong, especially aiming down sights.

Its not saying a whole lot lol But these are a nice step up compared to the fallout reload animations. They could still probably use things like partial reloads when you already have a round in the chamber, and other details. But at least we're past the Lever action rifle from Far Harbor that would reload 4 bullets even if you only fired one shot >.>
All the weapons are abominations made by people who have barely finished primary school as they add radiators which somehow suppose to cool down a weapon in a possible vacuum, not even mentioning that there is absolutely no way any space magic slide would work like that. Just look at how Old Shotgun reloads
@marshi8042 And that's the point, they don't need to. If video games stuck strictly to practicality it would be boring as heck, sometimes it gets tiring seeing the same HK416 or Mossberg 590 in every game.
the new weapons are just reskins :( quickstrike is solstice. longfang is Orion. starlash is equinox. starstorm is microgun. the pneumbra is the most original, but it's still based slightly on the bridger.
The Va'ruun Penumbra is a league above the rest in terms of smooth motion and the flair that comes with that. Hopefully a sign of things to come in future releases. While I think the stiffer style of animations in Bethesda's modern shooters has its charm, it's become a bit played out after 3 games.
Nah, it was most certainly a fluke. Also, how are you still maintaining even a semblance of hope for Bethesda future releases? Do you have some kind of disappointment kink or something? This isn’t writing on the wall level even, this is widely accepted that Bethesda are increasingly unable to do anything of value.
Please tell me the Ecliptic Pistol, being a rifle despite the name, is a mod... I mean, the reload animation is a Bethesda Bug(tm) and the "aim" mode has it cover 2/3 of the screen.
Did you even play Fallout? Most laser weapons had slightly lower damage than most firearms there too. If you need a justification, for some reason, consider that lasers would be a different type of gun, with their own positives and drawbacks. For example, instant travel time, precision, no recoil and energy damage, while being less powerful, having much less stoping power (obviously, you’re shooting things with light), reliability and so on. Notion that a sci-fi weapon should be better in every regard is plain absurd and silly, by the way. Hope you’ll get rid of these misconceptions.

I don't think anyone can beat cyberpunk. MW2019 can be a contender but that boils down to personal preference. MW2019 has incredibly detailed empty and top off reloads but Cyberpunk has like 3 or 4 unique reloads per weapon.
I appreciate you taking the time to make this video as I was wondering what was new. That said, and by no fault of your own... this is so unsatisfying to watch. Most of these weapons manage to somehow break both the laws of physics and the "rule of cool" at the same time, and unlike actual shooter games (or Cyberpunk for that matter), there is still no difference in animation between empty and partial reloads. The animations are also quite stiff and still show that classic lazy Bethesda charm.
To be fair, the game obviously goes for an old school approach in its designs in many respects. And for this I can actually commend it - I grow increasingly tired of overdesigned and overly “realistic” reloads that plague the FPS space nowadays, finding this simpler approach much more endearing and cozy. Even more, empty and partial reloads effectively double the workload on animators. This is not exactly the justification point of this exact game, it’s beyond help. It’s more of an overall point that I keep seeing and opposing throughout the genre.
