I still love this movie. I watched it numerous times when I was a kid. For a long time, I didn't have any Star Wars movies on VHS and so this movie on VHS and some of the early 90s video games were the only available options for me to experience Star Wars at home on-demand. So this is a big part of my early childhood memories of Star Wars.

I always found the poster hilarious, as it depicts this mysterious action movie badass with a gun who we never see in the movie. The implication is that he’s supposed to be Cindel’s father which makes no sense as he dies within the first five minutes, and the character on the poster is easily 15 years younger than the dad.
It means they knew they couldn’t market the movie with just an old dude holding a broom, a kid, and some little bears, so they drew an action dude on the poster haha.

You could also do the Star Wars Holliday specials, the cartoons or one of the Lego TV movies or if you like cheesy live action films both Marvel and DC have some entries.
Also the did do an Ewok mini series. it was animated.
this was right at the tail end of Star Wars, He-Man and Thundercts rose in popularity around this time. The Masters of the Universe movie reminds me of this in fact. It was one of those low budget, nothing like the TV show, couldn't afford to do what they wanted to films and like this at the end of the show's popularity.
at the time Ewoks were ll over the place. every toy store had rows of dolls. there were books, comics, every thing. By the time Episode 1 came out fans were sick of Ewoks.
other Star Wars inspired movies from this era included Hardware Wars, Space Balls, Buck Rodgers, Battle Star Gallica and Flash Gordon Once He-Man took off and Thundercats followed we also got Beast Master and Conan Gi-Joe, Transformers and Ghostbusters would also soon take off. along with multiple shows of any thing that could be toys nd a half dozen Dinosaur themed shows. The pinacol and most successful of that being Jurassic Park. Time Travel was also big then as were school set films and people in authority being screw ups and strong manly men being baby sitters. nd also people trying to hide aliens.

The suit keeps reminding me of the furry from The Shining...

I understand torturing your wife with Alien and Event Horizon. But making her watch the Ewok movies? She now has grounds for divorce.

The Care Bears, er... um, I mean Ewoks, are the reason why Return of the Jedi is still my least favorite of the first six Star Wars films.

I hate this movie with a passion. The imaginative, magical adventure of the first movie is replaced with this bleak sequel. Cindel's family, who we grew to love in the first movie, is just killed off. This movie stinks.
