Here's my grandma's tip for cleaning caked on burners: seal it in an airtight bag with about a cup of ammonia overnight. Leave it outside if you are sensitive to the smell. The fumes from the ammonia will make that baked on grease just slough off like nuthin'! You can use larger heavy duty trashbags and a little more ammonia for your oven grates as well. They don't need to be submerged in the ammonia since it's the fumes that clean it. Just make sure it's airtight. Hope this helps! I looooove your channel☀

Congratulations to you on your little one! As for the shag carpet, one thing that works for me is to occasionally turn the carpet upside down and vacuum the wrong side of it. The vibrations of the vacuum knock the dirt out. Of course then you have to vacuum the floor underneath. Then you can vacuum it right side up and it collects more of the loosened dirt out of it.

🛋 A couple years ago I replaced old pillows with newer ones that had removable covers. The cost wasn’t bad, ordered them from Walmart. I have a husband who loves to nap on the couch and used throw pillows like a bed pillow. (One of the main reasons I got washable covers, oh and I also have three children.) Anyway, my decorative pillows, like all pillows with polyester/poly-fill/whatever that white stuff is, became flattened and fluffless. THEN I was watching ‘The Minimal Mom’ and she had replaced her pillow inserts with down filled ones. I spent about 120 on 6 pillows, sizes 20x20 and 18x18, for goose down and feather inserts, again from Walmart. My pillows are easily fluffed and aren’t losing their shape. I say save up and invest in good pillow inserts. I have my day to day covers, which were cheap and some I change out for Christmas and fall. I’m super happy with them.

One tip for cleaning the stovetop- I used to have an electric range like yours and found that you can lift up the entire stovetop from the front edge (like the hood of a car). This gives you really easy access to clean that subterranean cave underneath the burner drip pans.

Hello! Lurker, first time making a comment. Congratulations on your happy news! That 1st trimester tiredness is No Joke. I found you quite by accident while I too was doing a 10,000 steps a day challenge, and have enjoyed watching your videos while on work breaks.
Wanted to comment about your rug dilemma - I have a variety of floor rugs and last year, discovered Ruggable. They are amazing, worth every single penny, and you can absolutely put them in the washing machine. I own three of them now, all varying sizes. I don't have a toddler any more (she's almost 19 years old now!) but my husband and I are not the tidiest of families and we had an old cat who threw up all the time (ugh). I love these rugs for how they look, how they feel under my bare feet, and how they have held up.
Pro tip:select your rug and backing system, place in the online shopping cart, walk away for a day or two. They will chase you down and email you a coupon. A good coupon too, lol! I discovered this by accident with my first rug purchase. 35% off is always nice. I'm not sponsored by them or anything, just a regular ole' customer person.
Yes, the suggestion of never leave a room with empty hands, is an old waitressing habit I still use to this day!
Be well, stay safe, wishing you a nap each day, and a dishwasher in your future (got my first one age the age of 43 and they are a game changer!)
    :-)

If you want to clean the burners and your oben from residue: soak them with baking soda. For the burner, put it in a bowl with hot water..boiling if possible. Put a teaspoon of baking soda and let it sit for a while. The longer the better. After it cools down, you should be able to whipe it of easily. For the oven: make a paste of bakingsoda and water, just so much, that the soda disolves. Put it on the stains in the oven and cover it with ceranwrap. Leave over night and in the morning it should come of pretty nicely.

Also, for the stove, if you take off the burners, and the bowls under the burners, you should be able to pull upwards on the stove top to open it up. Then you can get into that space that you were trying to reach through the holes of the stove top much easier. ❤

It's all good till I look at every surface in my house. Your videos are helping me realize I'm not alone and I don't have to spend hours cleaning. I can instead play "beat the clock".
I have coat hooks on the door to the attic. Someone previously took out a closet to put in a staircase to the attic! I'm going to get small baskets to put gloves and hats in at both of my doors. Right now they're in a box in the tiny linen closet. I don't need any gloves, other than gardening gloves when it's in the 90s but big hats are cool! I have them on the wall in my kitchen. Hey, when you have an 840 square foot house with very little closet space and wall space, you do what you got to do. Besides, they add a little bit of decoration and they are right next to the door that goes outside. I love your sense of humor!

Clean your dishes as you go…I fill my sink with hot soapy water and as I cook or make any type of mess I put them straight into the soapy water so it’s soaking while I continue doing anything and then while things are being cooked I will wash whatever is in there and just put clear water in your other sink so that you can just dip the soapy dishes in there and then put it straight on the drying rack and by the time you finish cooking it’s only the dishes that you’re using for actual eating that you then have to clean

About your oven, I have had really good success with the blue Dawn, vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice paste. In an abused rental, this concoction cut a ton of burned on who-knows-what. I ran the self-clean cycle and wiped out the ash. Then, I spread the paste on all that was left, including the racks. Left it for a few hours and wiped off the goo. The oven looks really good. The wipe out and final wipe with a wet cloth took hours, but the result is worth it.

Congrats on your upcoming addition! You are creative & funny & so honest! Also, here’s a little tip: Your dishes will be so much easier to do if you’ll get in the habit of starting a sink of hot, soapy water BEFORE you start cooking every time. Then by the time you are finished cooking, lots of the stuff will already be washed & in the drainer. Also, the burners will be faster to clean if you use a steel wool pad, like S.O.S. or Brillo.

Congrats on now one of each. My sister just had a little girl a month ago today. It’s was a rocky adventure but I know yours will go off amazingly. Hope you get your energy back and the nausea goes away quickly same thing happened to her in the first few months but seriously by the end of it she still had a boatload of energy because she had to chase after a four-year-old there’s that. Sending you and your family hugs and good wishes!!!!
I know they’re not cheap but my sister and I are saving up for a washable carpet for under the dining room table because my nephew is notorious for making a mess while he eats and soon she will have two eaters since by the time the babies 46 months she’ll be eating as well. So our friend who has way more money than us that one of those washable ones that you see on like Facebook and Instagram and she loves it she’s able to pick it up put it in the wash wash and dry it and then put it back down within an hour so that is the plan. She says it’s going to save her tons of money because she doesn’t actually have to wash it all the time she washes it I think she said like once a month unless there’s a major stains and it comes right out. It’s called ruggable if I’m correct In the spelling my apologies.

..... I don't know if you want the tip some people may not like how it looks but growing up where I did we were taught to put aluminum foil around the silver burners. You covered the aluminum foil around it and pop the holes out so it fits like a glove then you can cook as normal. And when you feel it's time and you clean the stove you can peel the foil off and put new foil down.

You, lady, are the only cleaning inspiration I need. Really, you're awesome. Random contribution: mix equal parts water, vinegar and dish soap (if you have some "cheap" essential oil, you can add a few drops of your favorite scent, otherwise it's a vinegary smell), put it in a spray bottle and voilá, you have your own super strength multipurpose cleaner. Spray, leave on a few minutes and wipe clean. My mom taught me that and I use that stuff in like the oven, stove top, microwave, even in the bathroom! Make sure you wipe it off well if you're using it outside tho, the vinegar ph balance can damage paint under the sun, or so the fiancé says :)

Congratulations on your wonderful news and PG you won’t be as tired for too much longer. Mind yourself and put your feet up when you can. Take all the help you get offered too. Brilliant idea have all the cubes labelled making tidying up easy for your son and more importantly your teaching him very, very valuable life lessons. Delighted you got a new vacuum. I still use a sweeping brush but I have a dishwasher 🤷‍♀️ Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍💐🙏🦸‍♀️

I love clear counters. But apparently nobody in my house does as I clean it and within 24 hours there is no flat surface! You're so awesome girl.

I'm 18 and I love cleaning,I rather just clean than go out my mum hates this she is a wild one she says I behave like a 60 year old granny. to be honest cleaning helps me escape depression hence it has become a hobby.I like it that way.
By the way congratulations on the baby

Congratulations to your family! So happy for you. Ok, those stove drip pans? SOS pads! (Steel wool with soap imbedded.) I take them all out of the box and cut them into quarters with a scissors (rinse it afterwards!), then keep the unused quarters in a mason jar under the sink. The one that is "in use" just lays on top of the jar lid. Don't leave it sitting on a surface you care about because they do tend to rust when the soapiness is almost gone. One quarter of a pad lasts me a couple of months. About that oven: I auto-clean mine twice a year and it always smokes for the first hour of the 3 hour cleaning cycle. Totally normal. So I choose spring and fall days when I don't mind opening all the windows downstairs for an hour. A box fan helps too. Beats scrubbing! Best wishes and I hope you find time to rest.

I use the grapefruit spray, too! It just smells so good! I think that whole “clean it more than once a year” thing is an urban myth.🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just got a new Microwave, too! I’ll have to remember to wipe it today to keep it up!

Congratulations! I enjoy your videos and thank you for making them. 😊 Yes, the take something with you is game changer! I call it the "while I'm at it" and have taught my kiddos to do that, too. 😁 Also, if it only takes one minute or less then I do it right away (like a counter wipe or throwing away a scrap of paper on the floor).

I missed this video and only just watched your most recent one and was pretty sure I saw a baby bump, but didn't say anything. But I was right! I just hit 35 weeks with my little girl, (yes, praise God! Love my boys, don't need another. Plus I think my husband would benefit from having a daughter) so there is no mistaking it now and I feel like an immobile whale. But this is so exciting! Yay! Congrats!

I was watching you reach through the stove burner holes (is that a real term?) to clean the large pan underneath the stove top. You probably know this but just in case you don't, the whole stove top lifts right up and braces so you can easily clean underneath. Just lift it from its front lip, after removing all pots and pans from the surface, of course. It's so easy to keep clean.
I enjoyed your video. You inspired me to get busy on my chores for today. Thank you! And oh, congratulations on your pregnancy! Little girls (and boys) are wonderful!

Dawn makes a super power spray which is great on things like that burner. Also a mixture of 3/4 white vinegar and 1/4 Dawn dish soap works better than anything else I've tried including on mildew. I use it for everything. Just found your channel yesterday and I'm sort of binge watching! I am also a fly lady fan. Really enjoying your videos.

I'm finding you for the first time and going through some of your videos. I have a suggestion for the oven, if you haven't found a solution yet. Put a casserole dish in the oven and put boiling water in it and let it sit with the door closed. This is the same principle as microwaving water to loosen up the food. It will make cleaning easier. Not easy. But easier. :)

For my oven I take a spatula and get all the charcoaled stuff at bottom stuff loose then I use my vacuum and suck it all up. Then i use a wet rag and wipe the bottom. I once tried a baking soda mixture in there and never again. 👎 😂😂 I dont do this very often at all either i find it gives everything a good amount of time to turn to ash 😊
