    This is what I do, with a one floor, 3 bathroom, 3 bedroom house (I imagine it could work for any type of house, but I find it perfect for a one floor house, condo or apartment).
    Day 1:
    -Wand dust celing fans, high ends and corners (whole house, just a quick once-over)
    -quick-clean windows/mirrors
    -clean bathroom sinks
    Day 2:
    -Clean/dust hard surfaces (just quick clean/dust. Kitchen counters-get behind things, one section per week, clean inside airfryer while cleaning)
    -Clean bathroom toilets
    Day 3:
    -pick one bathroom shower (2 of them dont get used much) and clean that shower
    -Level 3 deep clean just one small section of each area of the house (no more than 5 minutes per room/area), OR: spend no more than 30 minutes in the area that's bugging me the most.
    Day 4: Mop
    -i have all hard floors except the office, so I mop each area, but will skip any sections that dont look like they need it. Main areas almost always need it.
    Day 5: Vacuum
    Level 3:
    -Detail vacuum one small section of each room/area
    Level 2: Sofa dive in Living room (after Level3 in same room)
    Level 1:
    Quick vacuum each room/area (after any level 3 or 2 vacuuming is done in that area).
    Day 6 and 7: off
    Dailies: Dishes, Laundry, Basic tidying and sweeping as needed
    Bedding changes: usually done on day 2 while dusting.
    It looks more complicated in text than it actually is. It's a combination of TOMM and my own 3-wave system, focusing on particular jobs each day, vs rooms or areas. I find it easier to stick to nomore than an hour on level 2 and 3 jobs when I break it down this way, with it normally taking 30-45 minutes. Ofcourse that doesnt inclue dailies, but the areas in my house that are in maintenance mode are so much easier to maintain, that if I dont do any weekly or level 3 cleaning one week and just focuse on dishes, laundry, tidying and sweeping as needed, the house still looks basically tidy. And, when I do get to all the tasks each day, no room or area gets skipped, because I would have done 1-5 minutes of that day's level cleaning in each room/area. Also, the only job I have to do in one whole cleaning session is the vacuuming. I have pets that freak out when I'm running the loud monster, so I do it all in one 45 minute session. All the other jobs, I will justcdo a few minutes here and there at various times of the day, when I'm doing other things around the house...most of the time.
    Also, I follow the level 2 and 3 cleaning for 3 weeks out oc the month, and the 4 th week, I either do a house reset, where each day I spend an hour focing on the most important tasks for that day, that will make the most impact visually and functionally, OR, I take a break from level 2 and 3 coeaning that week, depending on how badly the house nedds an reset, and depending on what else is going on that week.

    Thank you sooooo much for this video! I am definitely going to start decluttering my current home and this information was so helpful.

    Great video Kendra, I will give it a try but will miss kids bedrooms as they clean those themselves, I have 4 still at home ages between 18 and 43. So I just take care of my bedroom and the rest of the house. xx

    Hi Kendra, fantastic run through of The Organised Mum Method. I’m interested in the planner printable you made. Will it be available in your shop? Thanks!

      Hi! Since it’s not my intellectual property (and is very close to the info on the printables available from the website), I don’t plan to put them in my shop. Gemma has provided a fantastic resource, and I don’t want to step on her toes.

    Super useful video and concise explanation of everything. Could I ask what program you used to make your own rota? I already plan my meals over a 8 weeks rota so the TOMM is for me! But I too need a customised list that tells me what to clean or… I’ll spend longer think8mg about it than cleaning 😉

      I use Adobe InDesign to make these, but they’re set up as a fairly simple table, so a word processing program (like Word or Pages) could work as well.

    This was such a helpful video! I'm so sad that your printable is not available in your Etsy shop. :( Would you be willing to offer it for free? Or share an editable version for free?

    Do you sell that template in your Etsy shop? I can't seem to find it. It would work perfectly for me!

      If you’re referring to the cleaning checklist, I don’t since it’s not something I’ve modified enough from the original idea. (I don’t want to infringe on Gemma’s IP.)

    I love your little tabs, did you make them yourself? If you did could you maybe do a video on how to do it?

      @KendraBork  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did. I actually used the cutting lines from a tab file that I purchased on Etsy, then just added my own text.

      Gemma actually talked about that on her IG last week. She said just to do what you could in 30 minutes, and that not all of it will need to be done every week. (So just pick the items that need to be done the most. I choose what's bugging me the most that week.) 😊

    is there a cleaning method designed for working people (not work from home). saturday and sundays are the free days.

    • @KendraBork
      @KendraBork  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven’t heard of one designed specifically/only for people that work outside the home, but I think any of the methods that are 30-45 minutes of cleaning a day can certainly be fit in without too much modification.

      The Organise Mum Method was designed by a working mom, so yes. There is. But I think it's for anyone who has a life besides house cleaning. I'm a housewife who doesn't happen to have children, but I have a husband and fur kids, and hubby and I both have physical disabilities, and I have other things I'd rather by spending my time and energy on besides just cleaning all day. So, I needed to find way to break down the housework so that I could get it done without exhausting myself or causing further pain and making it harder to do the other things I life that I actually enjoy doing. I still had to adjust TOMM alot find what works best for me over the past several months. I don't even know if I could rrally call my syst TOMM anymore. Nit, TOMM have me the foundation I needed to start getting my home in better shape and to start seeing significant progress right from the start. It's way easier to maintain what's in maintenance m9de. And to keep de-uttering what areas are not in maintenance mode. I have way less stress over things being good enough and functional.

    I really hate house cleaning. Have tried so many ways to trick myself into enjoying it. But I’d actually rather be at the dentist. Maybe this will help a little.

    • @KendraBork
      @KendraBork  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hear you. Sometimes I feel like it’s finding something novel or a new way to think of it (only 45 minutes out of 24 hours) to get myself to do it. Trying to keep flat surfaces fairly clear has helped. I hate dusting the most and generally won’t do it if I have to move a bunch of stuff first.

      @@KendraBorkI understand completely. I posted my modification to TOMM. Check it out. Btw...even though my schedule is way different than yours, your video was the first one I watched on how to modify TOMM for your home if you have multiple bathrooms. Your method on breaking down the tasks got me brain-storming and trying and failiing at differentt hacks until I found a way that works for me. So thank you for sharing with us all. You helped me so much, and probably way more people than you even know 😊

    I like this system, but I had to add in the daily kitchen cleanup, I indeed felt like that was missing, and I need the full list, too 📋 can’t expect my brain to actually function after work and kids homework and all the other things that drain my ability to make good decisions after 5 pm 😅
