Danny, you just saved my driver with this video!!! I’ve been hitting it slow and short for the past 2 months (avg 200) and after doing this drill today I hit a 242, 250, and a monster 269 yds (downhill hole) that was the best drive I’ve hit in my life. I was so stiff and robotic (working on my swing) and your video got me swinging loose and fast!!!
I don’t understand how you don’t have millions of subscribers. You break down golf to a simple level better than anyone I have seen. Makes golf seem easier
Probably one of the most insightful golf videos out there. With all the swing thoughts/positions that dominate our golf swing so much is lost. Not only distance and accuracy - but the very joy in the golf swing that comes from letting go. This formula certainly can be applied to so much of life - outside of golf. Thank you!
Nick sounds like where I've been all summer. In my middle 70s and thought I had lost a lot of swing speed and distance due to age. Played to an 8 in my 50s and 60s. Went to the range and then the course yesterday after watching this video. Amazing results! Great front 9 but hit a couple of ugly pulls on the back. Must of reverted to hanging on. This training will make the rest of my season. Brilliant, Thanks!
I have been watching these because I am trying out for my high school golf team. Right after I watched this, I went straight to the range and tried it! It worked tremendously! Thank you! I am more confident than ever!
I watched this video a number of times ,, very interesting indeed. I'm a senior golfer with an eight handicap and to be honest I've had a bit of a struggle playing to my handicap of late. My home course is a finely conditioned par 71 and I play three times a week. Without question of late I have become so focused on mechanics that my brain was well jumbled by the time I stepped on the first tee. After enjoying this video clip I went out to the club yesterday and teed it up with a totally different mind set. I softened my grip, relaxed my shoulders and arms and simply focused on swinging the club through the hitting area to a nice balanced finish. On average I only use my driver on ten holes, on four of those tee shots I certainly surprised myself ,, solid accurate tee shots and increased distance of 20 - 25 yards. As of late I've only averaged 1 - 2 birdies per round ,,, yesterday I had four, I relaxed over my iron shots and hit ( stiffed ) four excellent shots. What is shown in this video applies to irons as well, yesterday was the best ball striking I've experienced this season. Oh yes, I also had a couple of brain meltdowns and had two double bogeys but all in all I was absolutely delighted ,, I shot my age ( 74 ) and I'm looking forward to my round tomorrow ,,,, Thanks for posting this video, it was excellent.
I agree. I’m just learning the game and this makes so much sense. I am thinking of 4 or 5 things I need to do each time I come up to swing off the tee. I can’t wait to try this later today! Thanks
Danny- living here in the NE States I haven't been able to hit any balls recently. But I have been practicing this swing thought and technique in the garage. Thank you so much for changing my thinking and vision about my club path, release, and power!!!! Can't wait to hit when the snow is gone.
Danny, you're simple the best!!! Today before a round of golf I was looking for a video that would help me improve my driver, your words and your drill were so simple that I immediately applied them to drivers and irons, I can't explain to you how easy the round was for me
Danny Maude, you are the man!! I took these tips to the course for golf league tonight for 9 holes and hit every fairway and picked up a easy 20-30 yards! Oh, and I shot a 38!
So Danny I am an eye surgeon who has had to take an early medical retirement. I was a top basketball player and a road cyclist and avoided golf as being too time expensive. Last summer I bought Callaway Apex and Epics and I now live in California where I can play all year. I have had a few lessons but humility has been required in this quest to catch up with this really difficult activity. You voice is with me every day on the course or the range. This one is definitely on in my head when I step up to drive. It's the best part of my game now...Those approach shots.,.not so much.. Thanks for all you do!
Just one more comment on this video. One range session two rounds of golf and a huge improvement in my game. I've struggled since recovering from an accident last year. Up to 30 yards further with my driver and recovered distance with my irons. I watched so many golf videos looking for an answer to my band play I had too many swing thoughts and at time was nearly incapable of making a good pass at the ball. Got compliments on my swing today, "you have such a smooth flowing swing". Good that felt great. Do I hit everything perfectly, of course not but I'm trending in the right direction and enjoying golf again. Thanks to my online golf pro Danny Maude.
Great video Danny. What a good idea to put captions underneath given that many non- English speakers ( i.e. Americans) would struggle with your accent and rapid speech pattern. Things I found that helped me get a draw shape in addition to your tips today 1) I added 20 gm lead tape to the heel side of my driver ( if all else fails) 2) I grip the handle lightly in the second section of my fingers, not between the third section and knuckles/ palm. 3) I take a strong grip ( I usually use inter- locked) then release my right hand only and change that right hand grip to baseball grip. It really works to close the club face for me. My push to the right miss happens less often now.
Danny, I've been a subscriber for about three years. For me this is your best tip EVER!!! I've been working with a coach to stop slicing and start hitting a draw. It has been quite difficult and frustrating. As you said, I had golf "positions" but not a golf swing. I watched this video this morning and then went to the range. I thought about "heavy arms and shoulders" and trusting the practice swings and an amazing thing happened....a sweet DRAW!!! REPEATEDLY! I had a very good practice session and could see the improvement in striking and distance. Not 60 yards, I'm 74 years old, but my estimate was a good 15 to 20. (didn't have a Trackman to verify). So kudos to you, best tip ever! Are you interested in moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan? ;)
Perhaps I watch too many video golf tips! I’m full of conflicting “do this” “don’t do that”, delay that impact, compress your irons, use more left hand and not the right, don’t sway, above all don’t sway!, flip and not flap, (or is it the other way round!), hit the ball early, ...etc. This advice of stay loose is so central to everything and cuts all the other crap down to size. Thank you Danny. You have suddenly made more sense to me, and I’m eager to try this out later today. Can’t wait.
Love this - and have incorporated into my practice. Before Christmas was at range and three burly newcomers were whacking away - rugby players who had just taken up golf thanks to Covid. Much muscle, effort but no distance. I recommended that they loosened everything, starting with grip pressure to encourage 'loose hinge.' Result - much smoother swings produced straighter and far longer shots. Golf is the ultimate 'less is more' game.
This is pure gold. After watching this I realized I had been pretty locked up. Took a few swings in the yard and it felt great. Can't wait to go out to the course and try my new freer swing.
One of your best presentations. I recall years ago in taped audio series when the sports Psychologist Bob Rotella responded to a student when he asked him "You mean you want me to Just let it go? Rotella responded "YES! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO" I listened to the series and went from 19hdcp to 11hdcp in a few months by calming down and JUST LETTING IT GO.
I'd recommend that anyone who wants to improve their golf game read/watch/listen to anything that they can get their hands on concerning mr rotella. It was the key aspect missing from my game that took me from a 5-6 hcp to a scratch.
Have been letting go and releasing the club and I have picked up 20-30 yds on all my clubs. Thanks your instructions are the best. Wish you were in the states. Thanks for all your help. I never miss a video.
I can’t see anything in this video that would make someone pot a thumbs down 🤷♂️ Danny has got to be the most natural instructor on TH-cam, so easy to follow instruction and a great personality, get a grip, unless it’s another TH-camr scared of the competition Never change Danny, your channel is brilliant matey 👍
I tried this today after watching your video. It works. I am going to incorporate this into my warm up and training. Thank you very much. In just over an hour I added 20-30 yards to my carry. At 56 years old that is HUGE! Thanks for the training
My god Danny, I just noticed you're approaching 1million subscribers. I'm so glad for you mate. Your way of instructing is fantastic, full of humour and understanding. The sound of your club swooshing with ease is what I'm going to aim for. Thank you
Thanks to me and my golf for showing me your account, this video alone cleared so many questions in my mind. I have been holding my driver so hard and really been locking my left arm to try to have a straight left arm through my swing. But it just feels stiff and I feel like a lose alot of power. So excited to give this reckles and couragious thought a go. And with a new sim driver I could seriously pump up that carry number. Love it Danny, will come back for your videos for sure
Loved this video , especially the end about being courageous. I tend to try and control my driver, but I just watched my 9 yr old granddaughter hit a drive wonderfully with total abandon. So I decided to imitate her swing and just swing freely with momentum and looseness. It worked! My husband said he was so impressed with my drives after our round, and I said I was copying our little granddaughter Logan.😊. Exactly what you are getting across in this video. Thanks for your enthusiasm and passion!
I commented on an earlier lesson of yours, more on the right hand thru impact position, and how I gained 50+ yards on my drives, 20 yards on my woods, and amazing precision with all clubs in my bag but more so with my irons. Total..game..changer. I'm still working on muscle memory as I tend to revert back to my old swing mechanics but will take the lose arms in this vid as yet another aspect to hit the range with~ Cheers mate!
YTB Danny I stumbled and found your videos a couple months ago, I’m a senior over 70 with an extremely bad back. Since following the effortless process of your methods I’ve been hitting it over 200 generally a found 215, in play lowered handicap from 18 to 14 only poor putting is keeping me over 10. This video makes a lot of sense for us less flexible folks. Thanks for the great tips.
Such a good coach you are Danny. It's not only the physical aspect of the swing by the mental side as well. Listening to the words you use like wreckless or brave as a feeling to let go of the control makes so much more sense than just "this is the way to swing the club....now do the same "....
Danny! I am pretty new to your channel and have never commented before. I absolutely loved this lesson, along with How to Strike your Irons Pure and the Catapult Method. I have played baseball, softball, and tennis in the past and translating those ideas for weight shift and opening the hips at follow through is truly transformational! I have been one who tries to groove a swing, hitting my woods decently, but really struggling with irons and poor ball striking. I stand over the ball way too long, to the consternation of those who play with me. I played last Monday by myself and after several shots during the round I was literally saying out loud, "Thank you, Danny!" I had maybe the best ball-striking day ever, and it was a chilly day but the ball was still rocketing off the clubface. Everything was truly effortless. Thank you, Danny!!!
59 years old, laid off from golf almost 15 years and caught the bug again. Started again about 4 months ago and have struggled since. I have 30 year old Mizuno T Zoid irons and a 20 year old Adams 310 cc Tight lies 9 degree driver. BEFORE I found this video - PW avg = 90 - 105 yards, 7 iron avg = 135 - 140 yards, Driver avg 210 - 215 yards carry. I found this video last week, practice this swing at home for 3 days, just finished my 2nd range session and here's what happened. TODAY: PW avg = 115 - 125 yards, 7 iron avg = 155 - 170, Driver avg 240 yards. But here is the really exciting part...TODAY had a drive roll out 257, a drive roll out 265, a drive roll out 270...and the best...one rolled out 292. I cannot thank you enough Mr. Maude and can hardly wait to add ground effects to this swing! A few more range sessions and off to the course! THANK YOU!!!!!
Danny, I tried this out at the range today and I am amazed. My typical drives would sometimes roll out to the 225 yard fence. Using your advice I was bombing them OVER the fence! Thanks for a great lesson!
Danny, this is by far the best golf video I have ever seen, thank you. I tried the relaxed/ lazy approach and it actually added 20-30 yards of the tee. In addition to this, I replicated this feel for irons, and it's amazing how straighter I was hitting them as well. Thank you once again for this!
Danny, I took this lesson to the course today, in my mind. Wow! Straightened my driver out amazingly. I have been fighting a hook all year, and I know this tip was more for the slicers, but it worked for my hook also. I used the driver 7 of the 9 holes, 6 of those were fantastic! Thanks. Keep the videos coming. Away I go!
Hi Danny played yesterday best game in 2 years I binned the robot in me. I introduced your tips hit a few wild ones but forgot about those ASAP . Generally a much better golf experience I added a little more distance but that wasn’t my priority . Left the 18th in a great state of mind looking forward to my next game. Thank you Danny.
Danny I now call this my 'Swoosh' swing! My drives are straighter about 10-20 yards longer and I find it easier to complete my follow through. Many thanks again!!
This is so true. I didn't play golf for almost 2 years due to injuries. My first round back I was very loose and relaxed, no expectations. I was driving the ball better than I ever had before. It lasted about 3 rounds and then my old fears and worries came back and I started tightening up and it killed my distance. I need to find that again.
Your advice at the end about courage is so very important. I've always said that my best golf shots are the ones where I was afraid that I might miss the ball entirely or even fall down; I felt out of control. My goal for my next round is to be a little "reckless," and see what happens.
Thanks Danny, I’ve had similar face to face lessons, and not absorbed the message. Your demonstration is very clear physically. It makes clear sense and as you say all correct changes make the swing and the hit feel easier when one allows more free movement and less hand and arm control movements.
Yes, if I say to myself, I usually end up in the right hand rough, I will probably end up in the right hand rough. I'm going to start visualising and verbalising the track I want.
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I go through periods where all I'm trying to do is control the club and it leads to terrible shots. I always tell myself I need to work on technique, but when I let things flow everything self-corrects. Another amazing video. Thank you for all that you do!
Great tip, using my body to power my swing added 20-25 yards to my drives. Also I am striking my rescue better than ever! Overall I am hitting all my clubs crisply. Thanks so much.
Another absolutely terrific and hugely instructive video. You have improved my overall game immensely and after having a terrible slice on my drives, they are now cannon shot, usually dead straight. Thank you Danny!
Danny, this comes at a most appropriate time for me. After lock down was getting handicap going down, but then as a result of attempting to alter a few things, I have lost my way. I’m over thinking every shot and then basically not committing to the shot. I need to get back to a very simple pre shot routine and execute. Thanks.
Such a simple thought process that most of us including me just couldn’t grasp without you providing some insight and permission to go ahead. Looking forward to giving this a run. Love your videos. Another great one.
After applying this concept, I can say that I had immediate improvements in my driving. Tank you Danny, your videos have had a great impact in my game.
Took the 1st 2 steps to the my course comp yesterday and had my best round so far infact I will be cut by at least a shot. My big slice was gone. With a bit of practice my HCP will be shooting right down. Thanks Danny
I have been a subscriber to the usual popular other channels and watch a lot of tutorials and play golf regularly. I just subscribed to this channel and this first time I have actually posted a comment on any you tube channel. you make it extremely clear and concise and simple to understand the “feeling” side of things in the body. I play off 11 and also have tendency to tense up when it counts and swing plane can go slightly outside to in when that happens. Will try and practice that courage and letting go more! Thanks Danny
Without doubt, this is the best video I’ve seen on using driver. Put this into practice today and it all just felt effortless but with improved accuracy, swing speed and distance. Averaging 240 but a few went past 250, not seen those distances very often! Cheers Danny!
This is by far the video that has helped me the most in 3 years 🤯. I went from 190 with a heavy fade to 230 with a cracker or just a dreaded slice. To between 240 and 270 first round out even managed a little draw on a couple ..ye I hooked a couple and lost one or two right but 70 % were golden. I'm off 15 this could be a game changer
It certainly feels better. I've gotten so mechanical in my swing that I have a hard time getting club head speed at the ball. I took your advice out to my practice net this morning with irons and fairway woods, and it feels much more like I am swinging with my body driving the bus rather than trying to guide the club to the ball with my arms. Results were promising. I guess I'll just have to take this to the range with a driver and see how that works out. Thanks!
I am an 77-year-old golfer and only been playing for about 7-8 years. I do struggle with adding distance to my drive and hope this video will help. will get back after I try this at the driving range.
One of the best instructions ever. One of the quotes I heard in tennis was: "Loose muscles are fast muscles." I'm sure it applies to all sports. By taking the tension out of your arms and shoulders, it has to increase your club speed. Maybe golf is a sport where it pays to be "reckless."
Another great video. Especially the part about bringing it out on the golf course. Much too many of us amateur golfers are world champions on the driving range, but when we hit the first tee we tend to go back to the old and safe swing. Many TH-cam golf tips are fare to technical and difficult to implement on the course. So what have you gained? Nothing. Danny thanks for the video. Greetings from Denmark!
Watched this video this morning and have just come from the range. I’ve been struggling off of the tee for a few rounds now. It took only a few balls to get ‘the feel’ and I was launching the ball, carrying well past the 200yd marker. I must resist the temptation to hit it harder/faster. That’s when the slice returns. Can’t wait to get on the course tomorrow morning👍
Tried this out at the range this morning. Couldn’t believe the results! I’m not getting the extra distance yet but I was only doing a 3/4 swing to start off with. I went from hitting 9 slices out of 10 to hitting 7 draws out of 10 now. Unbelievable tips Danny!
I've been watching TH-cam videos on golf lessons for the last 2 years! And even though i understand everything these teachers are saying, i can never do it myself. I've tried everything to get myself a swing i can use by watching these vlogs and vids but nothing works 🙃 I'm so close to quitting now but want to thank Danny for his content and great advice 👍
You nailed it again Danny. I could'nt agree with You more. It's just that it is sometimes very difficult to just let go. And that is very annoying! But the feedback of a relaxed and effortless swing is so great that it is absolutelly worth seeking.
Learn to let go and wow what a difference. Keeping my arms loose is what ive been missing this whole time. Went to range today and I couldn’t hit a bad one w this swing thought, so simple
This is such simple advice. So many of us amateurs grip tight and try to hammer the ball. A big smooth, loose swing is effortless and produces great results. It's just training your brain and body to do it. Why do I struggle with this so much??
Howdy Danny. This video makes a lot of sense. I gave up on golf 10 years ago at a handicap of 2 as i lost interest in the game due to to many forced errors per round and feeling like i just wasnt good enough shooting 75 a round. I just couldnt go any better and the more i tried the more i controlled and the worse i got which made me frustrated and try harder and control more etc etc. Its a vicious circle and looking back no=w 10 years on i can see that. I am getting back into golf and will have my first game on wednesday 21/9. Im very excited to play but will definitly keep this video in my memory as this is the mindset i want to have and i never want to return to that complete control mindset again as it is very destructive to a good and enjoyable round.
I been working with like a wooden man to achieve the correct positions club toe down shallowing over last three weeks. Downhill on scores big time. Last week Erased those thoughts and went with a similar approach to yours. Much better results and accuracy. A few bad ones but in the whole felt so much better. I watched the Tommy Fleetwood driver warm up. Like the hands over right shoulder Sweeping higher for a draw. Visualising the shot.
Been working on draw shot for a while now Danny...concentrating on swinging golf club along my feet line But after watching your video I realised that I was not Swinging club Properly but just sort of trying to place club along the line of my feet Will def now try more fluent swing And try and get that wooshing noise from club through impact Cheers Danny...keep up the good tips..
Great video Danny....I Identify so much with what you say....tightening up, having a series of movements rather than a swing and not getting the distance despite the effort I put into the shot. Can’t wait to try this on the range before building up the courage to try it off the first tee.
This is the most effective drill I’ve personally ever used. The idea of “heavy shoulders” just clicked for me and enabled my body to turn more in the swing. For me it just worked and dramatically improved my ball striking.
I’m a professional musician, and so much of golf translates into playing an instrument and vice versa. Years ago my teacher told me “now you have to learn the Golfer’s Prayer - “Oh Lord, please give me the strength to hit easy.” Keeping everything simple and relaxed is so much better than a death grip and an Unleash Hell attitude.
Danny great tips as always, explained in simple, common sense terms. I often refer back to your vids and will take tips away and play with them at the range. Bunker vid with your Dad ive worked time and again. Love to get in repeatable routine with shots, that really breeds confidence on the course. Cheers mate, keep em coming
This made such a huge difference for me today. I was so rigid I was only ever using 2/3 or 3/4 of my swing. Felt so good relaxing and increasing the club head speed.....increasing the ball speed to 150+ from a previous 130! Really want to get out in the course now.
Went out to play yesterday and was paired with a scratch golfer who basically said the same thing in helping me out with my wedge shot -- soft hands, arms totally passive, body turn only. Then rewatched the video and made sense to me. In applying to irons and hybrids I'm seeing at least 10mph increased clubhead speed and feels like much better in the slot consistency. I'm also making sure to not lift the arms but rotate and keep the backswing low. I'm getting really good distance and more dynamic loft. This ties everything together quite well.
This makes so much sense, I am new to the game and started having lessons, even though the lessons have made my swing look better I have struggled with the changes as I feel like I have become robotic and have lost the feeling of just swinging the club as I am over thinking what I am doing
Feels the same for me. Couldn’t have seen this year-old video at a better time. This is the first time I’ve heard someone say to release the tension in my shoulders. I’ve heard about the arm-club unit, but never to have the body sling it. Reckless and courageous! This might get interesting.
Hi Danny, Many thanks again for a great lesson. Interestingly enough, I felt the exact sensation you're talking about in the video yesterday out on the course. On this one particular hole (not at all a 'nemesis' hole, I might add), I felt myself all tensed up at address. So I told myself to let those arms hang loose, feel the tension released from the shoulders and hey presto, I immediately felt much more comfortable and athletic over the ball, made a much bigger turn, got that lag at the top you often talk about and really ripped through it, easily my best drive of the round. Of course, the trick now is to be able to do that every time!
Joe and Kevin, I am going through lessons now and you are sport-on. Once I let go of other swing thoughts and relearn the fundamentals, then my shot displacement is closer and alignment straighter. Well done Danny!
Hi Danny great video, I've been keeping firm grip but not too tight , relaxed arms with no tension and hinge and re-hinge my loose wrists and finding great results and now more draws than fades. Thanks again
Danny, I haven’t added 40 yds, but the slice has gone. Im now on the fairway, maybe 20 yds back, but confidant enough with my irons. Shot 36pts today, should have been 40 + but for some putting errors. Also, the chipping lesson with the my golf guys you did has improved my game massively. Great work, loving it.
Really kind Jake
I wish I lived in GB to get an in person training session
@Jake Elliot - Key word here is “seem”!
Probably one of the most insightful golf videos out there. With all the swing thoughts/positions that dominate our golf swing so much is lost. Not only distance and accuracy - but the very joy in the golf swing that comes from letting go. This formula certainly can be applied to so much of life - outside of golf. Thank you!
Absolutely Steven. There’s always a place for mechanics but we don’t want to live there permanently
Danny I live in the states and every night when I get home from work I get on You-Tube and watch your videos., you are a great Coach.... Martin
Trust and letting go.... such an under stated aspect of the swing. Brilliant Danny, thank you!
Absolutely, it’s something that takes time to learn but it’s worth persisting
I have been watching these because I am trying out for my high school golf team. Right after I watched this, I went straight to the range and tried it! It worked tremendously! Thank you! I am more confident than ever!
well done Henry

I agree. I’m just learning the game and this makes so much sense. I am thinking of 4 or 5 things I need to do each time I come up to swing off the tee. I can’t wait to try this later today! Thanks
The smile on Nick’s face says it all. You are coaching swing but providing hope and joy!
One of the reasons I love to coach
Danny- living here in the NE States I haven't been able to hit any balls recently. But I have been practicing this swing thought and technique in the garage. Thank you so much for changing my thinking and vision about my club path, release, and power!!!! Can't wait to hit when the snow is gone.
My pleasure Peter, here’s hoping to be back out on the golf course very soon
Super coaching Danny thanks, the more I watch the more I'm learning & the better golfer I'm becoming
That’s great Peter, really happy to help
You're genius Danny,
Delivered any tip in a simple way and easily to understand
Really happy to help
Danny, you're simple the best!!! Today before a round of golf I was looking for a video that would help me improve my driver, your words and your drill were so simple that I immediately applied them to drivers and irons, I can't explain to you how easy the round was for me
Amazing to hear, thanks for taking the time to share
Danny Maude, you are the man!! I took these tips to the course for golf league tonight for 9 holes and hit every fairway and picked up a easy 20-30 yards! Oh, and I shot a 38!
That’s amazing! Well done

Great video Danny. What a good idea to put captions underneath given that many non- English speakers ( i.e. Americans) would struggle with your accent and rapid speech pattern.
Things I found that helped me get a draw shape in addition to your tips today
1) I added 20 gm lead tape to the heel side of my driver ( if all else fails)
2) I grip the handle lightly in the second section of my fingers, not between the third section and knuckles/ palm.
3) I take a strong grip ( I usually use inter- locked) then release my right hand only and change that right hand grip to baseball grip. It really works to close the club face for me. My push to the right miss happens less often now.
So awesome to hear Kym, thanks so much for sharing 😁👊🏻
Are you interested in moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan? ;)
With Danny's help I'm now hitting driver farther and consistently straighter. Time to use this video for getting draws and fades back. So excited!!
Look forward to hearing how you get on 😁
Perhaps I watch too many video golf tips!
It so is 👍
I've started use this swing technique on all my full swings with every club and I'm hitting the ball better than ever! Thanks Danny.
Well done Mark, awesome!
This is pure gold. After watching this I realized I had been pretty locked up. Took a few swings in the yard and it felt great. Can't wait to go out to the course and try my new freer swing.
Have fun Mary
Absolutely fantastic advice. Tried it out last round and noticed a difference right away. Well done Danny Maude. Great teacher!
That’s brilliant Thomas, happy to help
Have been letting go and releasing the club and I have picked up 20-30 yds on all my clubs. Thanks your instructions are the best. Wish you were in the states. Thanks for all your help. I never miss a video.
Great to have you here Paul, so good to hear you've managed to add a few extra yards
This is a real game changer I have practised this and it does work went from D river 210 to over 260 and I’m 70 so thanks Danny
I can’t see anything in this video that would make someone pot a thumbs down 🤷♂️ Danny has got to be the most natural instructor on TH-cam, so easy to follow instruction and a great personality, get a grip, unless it’s another TH-camr scared of the competition
Never change Danny, your channel is brilliant matey 👍
I tried this today after watching your video. It works. I am going to incorporate this into my warm up and training. Thank you very much. In just over an hour I added 20-30 yards to my carry. At 56 years old that is HUGE! Thanks for the training
Amazing! Well done Rob
Wow! Another game changer simple golf tip! My confidence and skill level has really gone up since I started following your channel. Thank you Danny!
That’s great to hear David, thanks for taking the time to share
My god Danny, I just noticed you're approaching 1million subscribers. I'm so glad for you mate. Your way of instructing is fantastic, full of humour and understanding. The sound of your club swooshing with ease is what I'm going to aim for. Thank you
I know, can’t really believe it
@@DanielMaude Not a surprise....
Brilliant your the only pro who tells amateurs the truth how to get better others just want our money & tell us any rubbish . your the man Danny boy
Thank you James, really happy to help
Thanks to me and my golf for showing me your account, this video alone cleared so many questions in my mind. I have been holding my driver so hard and really been locking my left arm to try to have a straight left arm through my swing. But it just feels stiff and I feel like a lose alot of power. So excited to give this reckles and couragious thought a go. And with a new sim driver I could seriously pump up that carry number. Love it Danny, will come back for your videos for sure
Great to have you here and thanks for taking the time to feedback
Loved this video , especially the end about being courageous. I tend to try and control my driver, but I just watched my 9 yr old granddaughter hit a drive wonderfully with total abandon. So I decided to imitate her swing and just swing freely with momentum and looseness. It worked! My husband said he was so impressed with my drives after our round, and I said I was copying our little granddaughter Logan.😊. Exactly what you are getting across in this video. Thanks for your enthusiasm and passion!
That’s wonderful Lynn, well done
, the ‘lazy swing’ has helped me so much in getting more distance and accuracy, I used to have a slice, now I have a slight draw. Thank you so much!!
Enjoy Naya 😁👍

Thank you Quentin; mind and body are one
Thats wonderful Scott, well done. Thanks for taking the time to share
I played golf for years before I realised why it was called a golf swing and not a golf hit. Great stuff as always Danny.
Thank you Ivor, great to hear you have found your effortless golf swing
Just tried this on the course for the 1st time and hit my driver 265, 3 wood 235......its added 30 to 40 yards to my game!! Thanks so much Danny
Amazing!! Well done...thanks for taking the time to share
One of the top two videos I watched all year. Coming off my best driving rounds of the year!
Thats great to hear Chris, thanks for taking the time to feedback
@@DanielMaude I think we all get caught up on hitting positions sometimes and forget to swing the club.
Thank you once again for this!
saadhamidkhan that’s wonderful to hear thanks for taking the time share
Literally tried this today and was starting to get 250yd carries consistently! Thanks so much Danny.......love the videos!!!!
Brilliant, well done Michael
Thanks!
You are very welcome
Danny, I took this lesson to the course today, in my mind. Wow! Straightened my driver out amazingly. I have been fighting a hook all year, and I know this tip was more for the slicers, but it worked for my hook also. I used the driver 7 of the 9 holes, 6 of those were fantastic! Thanks. Keep the videos coming. Away I go!
That’s awesome Philip. Thanks so much for taking the time to feedback
Have fun finding it 👍
Your advice at the end about courage is so very important. I've always said that my best golf shots are the ones where I was afraid that I might miss the ball entirely or even fall down; I felt out of control. My goal for my next round is to be a little "reckless," and see what happens.
Enjoy it, may take more than one round before you get it 👊🏻
To bad your not a true sox fan whitesox that is!
Thanks Danny, I’ve had similar face to face lessons, and not absorbed the message. Your demonstration is very clear physically. It makes clear sense and as you say all correct changes make the swing and the hit feel easier when one allows more free movement and less hand and arm control movements.
Absolutely Janet, thanks for taking the time to feedback
Brilliant lesson Danny I've finally broke 80 this week 78 and it's all down to you videos cheers 👏👏
Must be a great feeling .. I’m still mid 80s
Brilliant!..........visualise the shot you want, not the shot you usually play.
Love it
Yes, if I say to myself, I usually end up in the right hand rough, I will probably end up in the right hand rough.
Thanks.
Nick, you and me both. Great comment and another great tip(s) from Danny
Such a simple thought process that most of us including me just couldn’t grasp without you providing some insight and permission to go ahead. Looking forward to giving this a run.
Love your videos. Another great one.
Thank you, I wish we could all let go more
After applying this concept, I can say that I had immediate improvements in my driving.
Tank you Danny, your videos have had a great impact in my game.
No problem!
Thanks for taking the time to comment Craig, welcome to the channel 👍
Without doubt, this is the best video I’ve seen on using driver. Put this into practice today and it all just felt effortless but with improved accuracy, swing speed and distance. Averaging 240 but a few went past 250, not seen those distances very often! Cheers Danny!
That’s brilliant thanks for talking the time to comment appreciate your support 👍
Best swing advice I've come across. Thank you! Instant improvement on my swing. Amazing! Best coach ever!
John Cheeseman hell yeah 👊🏻👍
So glad i found this channel. Thr lessons are easy and concise and very easy to transfer to the range . Thanks Danny!
36 pts in the stableford today and blobbed the last. Got accused of handicap protection !! The game is sooo much easier from the fairway 👍
BTW... the last at my club is a par 3🤦♂️
Don’t know how I missed this gem of a video for so long! Thanks Danny.
Thanks Ed 😁
Tried this out at the range this morning. Couldn’t believe the results! I’m not getting the extra distance yet but I was only doing a 3/4 swing to start off with. I went from hitting 9 slices out of 10 to hitting 7 draws out of 10 now. Unbelievable tips Danny!
100+ great golf coaches on TH-cam..
I subscribe to Danny.
Cheers again from Virginia!
Thanks so much, great to have you here
As usual. You articulate your point very well. You were born to teach golf. Cant wait to start practicing. Thank you!! Danny
Thanks for the support Ronald
I've been watching TH-cam videos on golf lessons for the last 2 years! And even though i understand everything these teachers are saying, i can never do it myself. I've tried everything to get myself a swing i can use by watching these vlogs and vids but nothing works 🙃 I'm so close to quitting now but want to thank Danny for his content and great advice 👍
Do you find that they give you too much to think about over the golf ball?
No they are spot on Danny 👍 I will still watch your vids incase something clicks. Thanks for your reply
Thank you Danny......very helpful. You've added 20 yards to my drives and I haven't even tried it yet!
That’s awesome Gregg, well done
You nailed it again Danny. I could'nt agree with You more. It's just that it is sometimes very difficult to just let go. And that is very annoying! But the feedback of a relaxed and effortless swing is so great that it is absolutelly worth seeking.
It is indeed, so important for us all
Learn to let go and wow what a difference. Keeping my arms loose is what ive been missing this whole time. Went to range today and I couldn’t hit a bad one w this swing thought, so simple
That’s great to hear Ray, well done and thanks for taking the time to feedback
This is such simple advice. So many of us amateurs grip tight and try to hammer the ball. A big smooth, loose swing is effortless and produces great results. It's just training your brain and body to do it. Why do I struggle with this so much??
I think we all make it a little too complicated sometimes
Been working on draw shot for a while now Danny...concentrating on swinging golf club along my feet line
But after watching your video I realised that I was not Swinging club
Properly but just sort of trying to place club along the line of my feet
Will def now try more fluent swing
And try and get that wooshing noise from club through impact
Cheers Danny...keep up the good tips..
Ok Danny I am going to try it. I so hang on to all my clubs but especially Driver. In Danny I trust.
Thanks for the support Neal
Great video Danny....I Identify so much with what you say....tightening up, having a series of movements rather than a swing and not getting the distance despite the effort I put into the shot. Can’t wait to try this on the range before building up the courage to try it off the first tee.
Speed...give it a rip
This is the most effective drill I’ve personally ever used. The idea of “heavy shoulders” just clicked for me and enabled my body to turn more in the swing. For me it just worked and dramatically improved my ball striking.
Wonderful to hear Jon
@@DanielMaude hands-down the best golf instructor on TH-cam. Cheers!
I’m a professional musician, and so much of golf translates into playing an instrument and vice versa. Years ago my teacher told me “now you have to learn the Golfer’s Prayer - “Oh Lord, please give me the strength to hit easy.”
Keeping everything simple and relaxed is so much better than a death grip and an Unleash Hell attitude.
Great to hear Peter, thanks for the feedback
This made such a huge difference for me today. I was so rigid I was only ever using 2/3 or 3/4 of my swing. Felt so good relaxing and increasing the club head speed.....increasing the ball speed to 150+ from a previous 130! Really want to get out in the course now.
Enjoy Matthew 👊🏻
Thank you! My drives were 200-210 yards but then I saw this video and after 20 shots I suddenly hit 260 yards! So again, thank you!
My pleasure Martti, really happy to help
Great video. It would be helpful to see Nick’s before and after swing. Way to go Nick!
Yes, would have been a good idea
Went out to play yesterday and was paired with a scratch golfer who basically said the same thing in helping me out with my wedge shot -- soft hands, arms totally passive, body turn only. Then rewatched the video and made sense to me. In applying to irons and hybrids I'm seeing at least 10mph increased clubhead speed and feels like much better in the slot consistency. I'm also making sure to not lift the arms but rotate and keep the backswing low. I'm getting really good distance and more dynamic loft. This ties everything together quite well.
Amazing to hear Michael, thanks for sharing
This makes so much sense, I am new to the game and started having lessons, even though the lessons have made my swing look better I have struggled with the changes as I feel like I have become robotic and have lost the feeling of just swinging the club as I am over thinking what I am doing
All I would say is my kids swings are taking shape and they have no idea what a backswing means
@@DanielMaude 7i
Another good one Danny. I think you are secretly seeing my game!! Your lessons are sooooo timely for me. Cheers!
Absolutely Jeff, I have my spy’s everywhere 😉
Feels the same for me. Couldn’t have seen this year-old video at a better time. This is the first time I’ve heard someone say to release the tension in my shoulders. I’ve heard about the arm-club unit, but never to have the body sling it. Reckless and courageous! This might get interesting.
Hi Danny,
Many thanks again for a great lesson.
So pleased to hear you've experienced it Boyd. Stick with it now
Joe and Kevin, I am going through lessons now and you are sport-on. Once I let go of other swing thoughts and relearn the fundamentals, then my shot displacement is closer and alignment straighter. Well done Danny!
Awesome to hear Ralph
Hi Danny great video, I've been keeping firm grip but not too tight , relaxed arms with no tension and hinge and re-hinge my loose wrists and finding great results and now more draws than fades. Thanks again
Danny, I haven’t added 40 yds, but the slice has gone. Im now on the fairway, maybe 20 yds back, but confidant enough with my irons. Shot 36pts today, should have been 40 + but for some putting errors. Also, the chipping lesson with the my golf guys you did has improved my game massively. Great work, loving it.
That’s brilliant to hear Roger, loved reading this
When you're working on your swing it can be difficult to let go. Really good advice, Danny. Another smashing video. 🍻
