Thanks Danny I was four handicap and had a brain haemorrhage in 2012 Now you have helped me get eight handicap again. With your help I want to be five before I'm sixty years old. The basics are so important. A building is built from the ground up. I would love to meet you.
Started golfing two years ago. Started watching dannys videos last month and finally broke 100 over him. it's a lot for me as I'm a short driver hitter. Thanks so much man. And keep watching the videos lads it works. Even watch the same video twice helps a lot.
I want to start off by saying I have only been golfing for 3 months I am not good but I watch your videos every week and try to apply what your videos show and I have noticed things have been getting better thank you so much
Danny been following you since you started on you tube I call your videos my Saturday Golf School after watching I go practice and it’s the weeks theme of practice. I visualize my swing for feel and now you have shown me an even better more locally focused method. Thru the gate I will call it. Best video to date IMHO. 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Danny, this is one of the best , if not the best, golf tips video ever! 3 "Visualization Rules" per shot and 3 (different) "Set Up Rules" per shot related to stance, body position and ball position for Driver , Approach irons, Chipping and Putting. These are the Best Golf Tips I've ever heard or seen. Kudos to you and your video production team. Tom, in Niagara, Canada.
Morning, Dan - been struggling for any distance lately with Irons and woods. But, found an old video of yours from 8 years ago 😁 only just over two minutes long. Message was simply “ Set up to the target, not the ball” well, I’ve realised I am setting up to the ball not the target, so I look like the letter A. Think this is best tip I’ve seen that can help me so I’m over the range tomorrow - already taken a few practice set ups indoors and feel have more freedom and more room to pivot. Fingers crossed will benefit me 😁👍 All the best, Ken
I watched this video last Friday, went golfing on Tuesday determined to follow these steps of visualation , aiming at a specific target, then focusing only on striking the ball. I'm typically scoring low 90's and hitting 5-6 fairways per round. Today, using this technique, I found 13/18 fairways/greens. I was hitting much straighter drives and getting extra distance. Birdies/pars where I typically get bogeys. I've followed Danny for about 18 months and I've reduced my score by 4-5 strokes but have been frustrated by the mental part of the game . This was a game changer for me!!! Thank you and hope to see more on the mental approach to the game!!
Thank you, Danny, to give simple advice to one of the most important topics of golfers with any handicap level. Please more of this. It will improve my routine for sure. I remember another video instruction of yours, that shows the red/green zone before execution of the shot. Since than, it is part of my routine (deliver now, no thoughts but action ) and definitely one of the best that I have. 😊
Thanks Danny. I pick something on the green when Im putting and aim for it same as when I play my irons. You explained every golfers fear on the first tee. Just make contact and move on
This why your channel is the only golf instruction I watch! I am +1 handicap and played my best round in several months after watching this. I needed to be reminded of the process. This is brilliant.
Invaluable again. You manage to see things from the point of view of us amateurs and break things down so they're simple. I have to keep reminding myself to do the "hit thru the window" trick, but when I do it inevitably works, even with poor swings. As you said before, the ball is not your target. I'd love more like this please Danny, watching you assess shots as you play certain holes and situations. It's priceless.
thanks for another great lesson Danny but harking back to last weeks lesson i adopted your tip about ball position with my irons i.e. one clubs width inside my lead heel the results were amazing no fat shots ,no thins , and ball then turf most of the time brilliant vic young
Our 18th is a fine stage for this excellent lesson. Focussing on the smallest possible target with the bigger clubs really works for me - it took me bloody ages to realise that ! Thanks Danny.
Been following you since I restarted playing golf last year after 12 years off. Had to completely change my swing since the flexibilty and muscle mass is also so different. This year I surpassed my old PB of 84 and actually just shot twice into the 70s (78 and a 73) :) thank you for the amazing technical tips!
Played an almost identical chip at the 18th earlier this summer and slotted it in for a birdie and a tie in our match. My opponents were heartbroken! Love this playing format. Keep up the good work Danny.
This was awesome. It is very helpful to understand club selection all the way going into the hole and the lies you face. One of the biggest obstacles I face sometimes is what club to use and what strength of shot to take. Of course I could always strike the ball better, but confidence on the course is huge in having fun.
Great video, Danny. I had a very similar routine, with the main difference being that I line up the farther and closer 'targets' while standing behind the ball, not side on. My game had dropped off in the last month and I realised I wasn't following the process and just got back to it. This video absolutely confirms this. I will definitely be re-watching this many times, to keep on the ball, so to speak. Very, very helpful.
Great advice that really helps set the mind and position the body for the shot. I believe this part is the most import part of golf and so often skiped. Thank you Danny, your lessons on TH-cam have had such a positive impact on my game.
Been playing for about 3 months now. Lots more to learn than I thought, but enjoying it. Your videos helped me correct a slice with my driver, now just working on consistency. Currently shooting around 105, best has been a 96. Next goal is to consistently score in the 90’s. Great content for learning in simple terms that are easy to take to the range/course 👍🏼
Hi Danny, A lot of useful information iin this week's video. I always focus on the target in the distance but will now try and bring the target in front of the ball. Thanks!
This is great, Danny. I've always imagined aiming the ball at a point a few feet away when putting. It works, but it never occurred to me to apply it to all shots. Thanks.
I have spent the last year and half watching your videos, practicing and applying your tips. I have gone from a +14 to +8. In August I had three consecutive rounds in the 70's. Still have lots of work to improve. That best part of this recent journey is that my game now travels well. LOL Just want to say thanks! 🙂
I've been working on stance width on approach shots. It's easy to get too wide thereby increasing the swing arc. Your drill helps reinforce the proper set up.
These tips complete make me rethink my shots. It's probably not a good analogy for a lot of players, but I have been playing golf video games for years when I was not actually playing. Taking this concept into mind seems almost second nature now. I have only tried it on the rang so far but tomorrow I will take it to the course and see how it goes. Thanks again for a great video.
Danny- been following you now for quite some time and love your approach to instruction. After playing a less than great 9 holes I realized it was more mental than anything else - too many thoughts racing around my head and getting in the way of having fun. I like the simple 3 step rule. Mechanics are one thing but the application on course is the mental challenge which really creates the frustration for me. Thank you for your dedication! First time ever commenting online to anything or anyone.
these are all superb tips, visuallising the shot is key to informing all your other decisions. during the putter sections, danny says i dont need to look at the target, then proceeds to look at the target, which just goes to show that old habits die hard
Great tips, as always! I love the on course, playing a hole format. One thing I've always found very useful with chipping is taking as many practice swings as necessary, while looking at the spot that I want the ball to land, until I feel like I have the swing length to land the ball where it needs to land. Other than that, everything in this video is fantastic!
Dear Danny, the way you visualizing the shot, and drawing the imaginary lines, is absolutely very helpful. That is what I learned and did as well, looking at 1 feet spot in the front of the ball before teeing off. Thank you so so much, I always enjoying your helpful videos and applying in my practice shots and during play on the course. Greetings from my beautiful Indonesia. 😁.
Great format here Danny. It would be interesting to watch you take a mid-high handicap student around with the same ideas. How would they play the shot vs how you recommend they play it. Have a great game!
Fantastic videos Danny, started playing about 5 weeks ago, only been to the range but your tutorials and tips have got me striking quite consistently in such a short period of time. Thank you the constant content
The not looking back at hole when over a putt before striking the ball seems like a tough one … but ,ill give it a try today .. i usually am looking back at the cup to reaffirm the “power” of my swing as much as anything ,so imagine a way short or long putt or two today 😬✌️👍🏼
Simple explanation as always Danny, great use of graphics and will be taking this approach on the course. Agree with other comments that taking us through actual holes on the course is really relatable to show how to get up and down 👍👍
Still working on my out to inside swing, this helps but need to fix the path, another video on that in the future? thanks again Danny these videos are rock solid.
Thanks, Danny! As a beginner playing my 2nd ever 9-hole round next week, the 'window' visualization really resonated with me. I've been trying to aim at blades of grass, but that window gives me a better focus. Whether I get it through the window is another story 😂 Excited to try it out some more!
Thanks! That was great! I have visualized my landing spot on drives for years (fairly but not always consistently!) but never thought about the shot shape....and for some odd reason, never thought to do it for approach shots. Can't wait to give it more of a go before the season ends where I live.
@@DanielMaude Could you add a small section on tee boxes too. Aiming/alignment but also more importantly uneven boxes, muddy, sandy and not level. I find the transition from level range mats to an unavoidable ball above or below your feet on a tee box hard to manoeuvre.
Morning Danny, I'm on the injured list ( cataract surgery ) back playing in 2 weeks can't wait. As to set up I was at a Nick Faldo clinic and he made a big thing about set up and he had one thing he always did, before each shot, he tugged the crease of his trousers which was his first move before settling in to his set up
@@DanielMaude Danny, I have incorporated this tip into my pre shot routine for every shot. It has helped me immensely. I now look forward to every shot and make more pars than ever before. Thank you
Great content and informative all so important and easy to understand, notice how there is no rush in just hitting the shot .Really like the small window ideas to all shots especially putting where I focus on a large circle around the pin whereas focusing on a window very close to where the ball starts , share some more of these on the course videos to help us all on this great game beers up Danny the peoples coach 🍻👍
@DanielMaude Amazing! I bet. Here's why- from my perspective as a 90-100 golfer: It's nice to see an entire hole and the various choices made and broken down shot by shot. There's SO much content out there that's like, "here's how to fix your slice, here's how to get more loft, here's how to add 50 yards to your drive etc." But to just see someone play a whole hole from start to finish is so refreshing, and sort of reminds all of us golf-scrollers, "Here's how someone simply gets the ball into the hole in as few shots as possible." (I.e. the game of golf 😅) Love all your videos! Have a great week!
Nice job Danny. Amazing how many of the games lessons from the GOAT, Jack Nicklaus are still relevant today. Jack was always a big proponent of visually the shot shape and trajectory. Problem is my mental picture very seldom corresponds to reality😊
Danny, can u pls link some videos where u talking about the golfswing beeing an "up and down" motion with the arms. You know "down and around". I can only find one, but i know i seen some more! This is by far the most important part in the swing that stopping me from coming over the top, and i really want to get it right! So im going all in on that now! Cheers mate
@@DanielMaude Yes this is the one that i seen many times, and then i remember u have showed this move in other videos to! But i was to dumb to get it then lol..Now i cant find the vids. So if u know any more vids where u demonstrate this, pls sent☺ I know this one vid is plenty enough, but as important this move is, i gladly see more..
It’s amazing thinking about shape. I play with py partner and she has no real idea about golf but enjoys getting out . Jokingly I ask her about what shot shape I should play like she is a caddy and discuss what I want to do she has no idea but it actually helps me play better
Great video, Danny, as always. Thank you. Yes please, more playing lessons where you talk us through your thought and planning process, etc. PS. Did you have to do a second take of your second shot? I noticed the frame has jumped like there was an edit cut 😊 PPS. You did look up at the hole/flag a split second before hitting your put 😉
@@DanielMaude Could you please check if I’m moving up your queue for a 1to1 lesson with you. I sent an email request several months ago. Thank you very much.
Great video danny , i always visualise a mid trajectory draw on the first tee at my club because it suits the fairway , unfortunately i always fade into the fairway bunker or pull it ob left 🤷🏻♂️. I do however concentrate fully on what i want and pick a clear target for any fairway shot , be it a recovery or lay up , you cannot just hit it down the fairway your brain just hits it .. I never pick a landing zone on chip shots i go for the flag and let my brain process the requirements , if i pick a landing spot thats where the ball finishes up 🤦🏻. Also i wear varifocals so long putts are very difficult the read ,from above the ball is or can be totally against what you know it to be , my answer to this is just concentrate on distance and high side , occasionally they drop but normally i can get it within tap in , its near impossible to hit to a line when your eyes are telling your brain its wrong , you can however hit to distance with confidence . More on course please danny , maybe a video on the difference between right and left hand dominance and how it affects your swing/ release 👍
More "on course" instruction please. So useful for club golfers to be able to identify with different situations we find ourselves in.
More to come Kevin

YESSSSSSS DO ONE OF THESE A WEEK!
Will certainly do more of these as the feedback has been fantastic
@DanielMaude Amazing! I bet. Here's why- from my perspective as a 90-100 golfer: It's nice to see an entire hole and the various choices made and broken down shot by shot. There's SO much content out there that's like, "here's how to fix your slice, here's how to get more loft, here's how to add 50 yards to your drive etc."
But to just see someone play a whole hole from start to finish is so refreshing, and sort of reminds all of us golf-scrollers, "Here's how someone simply gets the ball into the hole in as few shots as possible." (I.e. the game of golf 😅)
Love all your videos! Have a great week!
@@Ben-gg3dp really appreciate you taking the time to let me know Ben
Nice job Danny. Amazing how many of the games lessons from the GOAT, Jack Nicklaus are still relevant today. Jack was always a big proponent of visually the shot shape and trajectory. Problem is my mental picture very seldom corresponds to reality😊
Thank you let me know how you get on 😁
Great video, Danny. One of your best.
@bpak510 thank you. Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
And away we go , Danny you must be a Jackie Gleason fan ! Another super video Danny ! 👍
Thanks Dennis!
Cheers mate
Here’s one: th-cam.com/video/qiVQxdlgf1M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7UhHSuWB9hRCnOze
@@DanielMaude Yes this is the one that i seen many times, and then i remember u have showed this move in other videos to! But i was to dumb to get it then lol..Now i cant find the vids. So if u know any more vids where u demonstrate this, pls sent☺ I know this one vid is plenty enough, but as important this move is, i gladly see more..
As usual a knowledgeable lesson. The Golf Club your at looks local to Dartford
It’s Canterbury Gary
It’s amazing thinking about shape. I play with py partner and she has no real idea about golf but enjoys getting out . Jokingly I ask her about what shot shape I should play like she is a caddy and discuss what I want to do she has no idea but it actually helps me play better
Absolutely Colin, when we are clear about our outcome are bodies are more likely to respond in the correct way
Great video, Danny, as always. Thank you.
Yes please, more playing lessons where you talk us through your thought and planning process, etc.
PS. Did you have to do a second take of your second shot? I noticed the frame has jumped like there was an edit cut 😊
PPS. You did look up at the hole/flag a split second before hitting your put 😉
No just sped up the footage to reduce the dead time.
@@DanielMaude Could you please check if I’m moving up your queue for a 1to1 lesson with you. I sent an email request several months ago. Thank you very much.
Thank you Danny nice hole.
Really kind Ralph thank you
Good advice
Glad you think so!
love you danny, love from Myanmar! 😊😊😊
Thank you, appreciate the support 😁
