5:06 you can use a dry wipe/white board marker to remove any errors with a Sharpie/permanent marker. Easier and safer to use than acetone. Awesome video as usual, keep up the great work!
I really liked the way this car came out. If I were to change the color, I'd go for blue. The only issue I'd have taken care of would be stripping the paint inside the car, so no traces of the old color would be visible. I do that in all my restorations.
I know this might just be a single person's opinion, but could you please include the electro-polishing footage now and then again? I found it incredibly satisfying to watch and it's my favourite part of the restauration!
When I was a kid I would have turned this into the General Lee if I actually had a Charger in my collection, but I didn't...Being grown up I would rather see it restored to it's original color of Magenta.
Hi there, I love your work. I need to restore a charger, but the bearings are not exactly removable. Can I safely expose the base to paint stripper without damaging the bearings?
I would use masking tape to mask off the little buggers before squirting paint stripper on it, although unless the base on yours is painted there’s no real need,
im 50 ive never owned nor played with these type of cars,[that i can remember] yet watching this guys videos,i shocked myself and my wife, when she was out the door this weekend,to go garage sale hunting i called out to her, to keep "a eye out for any old dinky/matchbox cars",it was out my mouth before i knew it,where did it come from?this guy is obviously educated,is he slipping in subliminal messages, hypnotising us,or is it a cool hobby thats fun and affordable WELL I GUESS ILL FIND OUT, now to remember where my spray brush kit was packed up 12 years ago..thank's baremetalHW
Really wish that content creators would put links to vids, when they do this kind of thing. Let the audience choose something and then create a follow up video, only to never be able to find it again. This is over a year ago and nobody knows what color was chosen or how it turned out, since there isn't any link to the follow up video. Such a shame...
I'd almost be tempted to make the car look like the General Lee. All you need are a set of jump ramps and a good mud puddle for some good old Dukes of Hazard break for commercial jumps.
Just love the ideas you have with some of your builds , I have tried to do some work on some of my old cars but they never looked anywhere near as good as yours keep the cars coming and maybe some day I can get you to do one of my old cars Thanks again
Hi, I have a couple of of damage toy cars here, when I Watch your video it inspires me to restore my damaged cars, but I don't have the tools, nor the budget to buy them but at least please tell the name of the spray you use to remove the paint of the car...
Since you can always repaint. Why not do a few custom tanpos- paint? Orange or any lighter color and since it is. Charger. Add the RT bumblebee bee stripe- black. Also since it had a "6 pack hemi style hood scoop" flat black, maybe add a vinyl roof. Some simple engine painting, interior, under carriage paintings. Underside of hood and inner engine compartment, cowl are painted true to what a Charger would have been. Basically try to recreate a Charger RT???
These vids are very entertaining. I like watching them. I hear mention about the tedious sanding process quite a bit. Have you ever thought of using a small blast cabinet with plastic media? It should strip something that size in a few minutes. I don't believe the plastic would affect the car's surface, but it would be prudent to check on that for yourself.
If I don't have access to paint stripper, can sandblasting work as a substitute? I plan on restoring and customizing Hot Wheels cars, and I want to take as many notes as possible.
Not seen any revised videos so I don’t know the colour you finally picked. Personally, I would go with either a Blue or a Burgundy. As you may know, they reissued this car a couple of years ago in this green colour.
So what color did this one end up? I looked for a follow up video but didn't find one. I have one that I am customizing as a General Lee, but will probably pick up another one to restore back to original.
Hey Maddie how I happen to have won the most oldest toys going back to my great great great grandfather and it's completely metal do you think you could restore it I just don't want to damage it could you please reply
Go for magenta, as it was originally
The Stig's German Cousin didn't expect to see you here.
The Stig's German Cousin why green looks better in my opinion
Matte Black looks okay.
You watch these too?
My name Jeff sure I do
Orange is my favorite color so that would be my vote.
Never clicked on a notification so fast lol
Edit: Definitely go with brown, a super under rated colour for classic muscle cars!
SideWayz Moose ye I it is under rated
Brown looks surprisingly good on most classic and muscle cars.
A lot of kids here that want the speedy wooshy blue.
SideWayz Moose true but won't that make it ugly?🤔🤔
Dre Peary are you kidding? A nice dark brown looks amazing

Mine too! Although your final results always blow me away. Flawless work
Go orange and do the general Lee. Maybe a flag decal up top, probably would solve the discoloration issue? Just my thought.
General lee
YESSSSS!
*ITS REWIND TIME*
When I was a kid I would have turned this into the General Lee if I actually had a Charger in my collection, but I didn't...Being grown up I would rather see it restored to it's original color of Magenta.
PLEASE paint it orange! Its such a classic color for a Charger!
you're thinking of the general lee, which was actually painted corvette flame orange
Barak Mosgrove I think you should go with magenta. I have never seen a redline Custom Charger in that color before, that would be cool.
Just watching your video now so no need for apologies for tardiness
I’m the one who’s late !
Keep up the great work !
Blue, since you don't have the original purple. It's okay, though, mine's still purple. Great vid. Ty.
Choose orange so that it can look like the General Lee.
do The Dukes of Hazzards General Lee!!!!!! so orange!!!!!
Came across your channel and love it...very thorough..
I like it the way it is. I think you did a great job on the metal.
This car is my dream car in rl and watching u restore as a redline hot wheel makes me happy😊
Orange duke is life
Orange. As the General Lee was and still is my favorite Dodge Charger of all time.
Black. Bullit.
Orange, gotta pay homage to General Lee
Did the repaint ever get done? I can’t seem to find the video. Can someone link me it?

Orange. I would paint that Charger like the General Lee

Magenta 👍👍 casting came out nice
Magenta, something close to the purple it started as
I WANT THIS DODGE CHARGER TO BE GREEN
Paint the gas cap silver and front parking lights also you attention to detail demands it, and being my all time favorite. Of all muscle cars.
Blue! I like the original tone. Plus the Charger in the film “Christine” was blue.
paint it orange
orange plz
Cherry red is the perfect colour for a 69 charger
Now I would like to see what it looks like when you re-painted it.. 😊
Blue with a black stripe down the middle
Hey, I got an old 64' Riviera I was gonna throw away, how would I be able to send it to you?
Do you still have it
Just love the ideas you have with some of your builds , I have tried to do some work on some of my old cars but they never looked anywhere near as good as yours keep the cars coming and maybe some day I can get you to do one of my old cars Thanks again
Magenta would look amazing.
If I restored this car, I would make the General Lee 🤘🏻
Magenta!!
I vote for ORANGE!
When it comes to restoring old timer Hot Wheels toy cars, there should be nothing to it!
Blue hands down it has to be blue. It is just the perfect color for that car. Blue all the way for that car dude.
I want to see a General Lee. I want to see how you do the decals at that scale
Magenta!

I still think that a darker green would be the best colour for this model :) 👍

And don't forget the rear section above the bumper and around the tail-lights is flat black on Chargers as well
Magenta!
Although it looked incredible bare.
Great vid.
That car would look amazing in black

I always wanted one and never could find one great car that paint sets it off
Orange and please put the general lee decal on it.
You mean Rebel flag?
Damien Stone u literally just repeated what he said
There is a thing called the rebal flag dumb fuck
Why not the Nazi flag?
That’s it’s name
Magenta like it was originally
I go for blue, blue looks very cool on an Dodge Charger.
If I don't have access to paint stripper, can sandblasting work as a substitute? I plan on restoring and customizing Hot Wheels cars, and I want to take as many notes as possible.
GREAT JOB
Magenta 😍
Magenta is the way to go as it seems closest to the original color.
I subscribed and hit the bell.
I think i am going to try doing the restoration on some redlines!
Orange
orange!
Blue or magnita
Is there some way to contact you about a video idea that may require something being shipped?
Just wondering if you have ever considered molding and recasting the windows?
Orange...
I would have just clear coated it looked great Crome
Orange, but I would leave it. The discoloration is patina to me. I think it looks great as is.
Not seen any revised videos so I don’t know the colour you finally picked. Personally, I would go with either a Blue or a Burgundy.
As you may know, they reissued this car a couple of years ago in this green colour.
I want to say brown, but that Anti Freeze color looks so good, discoloration aside, I will go with GREEN!
Did you repaint it yet? Hopefully magenta?
Magenta (hope I spelt that right
Orange.
So what color did this one end up? I looked for a follow up video but didn't find one. I have one that I am customizing as a General Lee, but will probably pick up another one to restore back to original.

What if you could dip the entire car in sharpie would you get a good result? Thanks for making the video I really enjoy them.
So did you change the color?
Magenta! Taz car
MAGENTA
I have the same one, exept the hood dont open. It is in a kinda good condition. It looks really good.
i like this yellowish green its a nice color for this vehicle :3
Orange like the general lee
🇺🇸General lee🇺🇸
Mason Moser general lee was part of the confederation not America
that has nothing to do with the color.
if you google 1969 dodge charger general lee you see
and the confederation was part of America. the union army and confederate army.. all part of the US.
What?
Orange. Because general lee.
The only 68 to 70 charger i will afford to buy lol great vid
watching all your video's... really nice..
keep up the good work...
How do you get the rivets for the body undone and what glue do you use to put it back together
Wait, how did you remove that pin that fixes the metal body to the lower one?
Oh come on! You coulda made the general mayhem out of that!
lauri diked leave that sorta stuff for a modern casting. No use ruining the value of a redline
SideWayz Moose
Yeah, i kinda rushed my comment without thinking.
Did you ever re-paint this car?
Hey, i have a bunch of random matchbox cars and I don’t know what to do with them. Is there a way I can send them to you?
Orange!
YES
what size music wire did you use on the hood?
So bleiben die Modelle erhalten ... schönes Video.!
