As an artist, I can understand your being in search of perfection in your work. As an art enthusiast, however, I must tell you that I find this piece to be absolutely breathtaking. Just beautiful!
Thank you Paula, you know how it is then, the other issue is I was already paid for it in trade, BUT she was absolutely thrilled with how this turned out, memories of her children collecting those shells captured forever !

Doug, this bowl is absolutely amazing. It is so evocative of the beach on a nice, warm, summer day. I swear I can hear the seagulls, and the lapping of the waves against the sand. I can smell the saltwater. It is just gorgeous. your work is breathtaking. The imperfections that you pointed out just add to the uniqueness of the bowl. Thank you.

The bowl is beautiful, it really looks natural! It seems that you are not completely happy, but you should be. Don't sweat the imperfections...nothing in nature is perfect, that's part of the charm! You do great work.

Though I think Kim won the bet by setting you up with those shells. The bowl didn't break and neither did you. But we could see in your eyes at the end it was tough going. You rule!

Absolutely stunning!! I'm actually surprised that shells are so hard to work with; they just don't seem like they'd be that hard. It sure came out beautifully!
I like that the turn-effect of the seashells actually enhanced the whole oceanic feel in a lot of places. There are spots where it almost looks like calamari.

Sea shells are made of aragonite and calcite, the latter being the main mineral found in limestone! So if those shells seemed to be as hard as a rock, that's because they are! Either way, that's a beautiful bowl!

This is a most awesome looking bowl. Love it. There is nothing wrong with longer video's too. Those of us who love craftsmanship in process, appreciate the longer videos.
Impressive! My husband is the wood turner and I can’t wait until he wakes up so I can show him this. Question, will the bowl still crack or is it stabilized with the resin?
Thank You , as far as I know the bowl still looks like this with no cracks, to be honest he isn't gonna like those shells, I had to grind most of them down on the inside to finish this, the tools just wouldn't take it.

The bowl is incredibly beautiful. The green really makes the would just pop. So it was a hard job oh, you stuck to it and you were successful. Even your logo burned in so deep looks great and goes along with all the interest on the bottom. I'm impressed and proud of you. The beard looks much better. Thanks for a great video
