Their performance at 'Live Aid' is seriously in the record books. Once you watch it immediately follow with the movie ' Bohemian Rhapsody' I swear it won't disappoint
Still another side of Queen.... Gotta listen to QUEEN: WHO WANT TO LIVE FOREVER. This is also a chance to hear from someone else beside Feddie singing.
Queen had 4 songwriters in the band... so each member brought a diverse element into their music. This track was written by bassist John Deacon... it became a global #1 single in 1980. It also marked a change for Queen in a pop direction - in the 70's, they refused to use synthesizers in their records. This album 'The Game' used synthesizers. So in subsequent Queen records, they went more pop... and as a result, their US popularity fell, even as they were superstars worldwide...
I was at that concert in Montreal! It still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I have yet to see a band duplicate that chemistry on stage. And I have seen hundreds of shows
@@Terry_Callaghan_Unfiltered I've been t a number of shows myself. I've seen who I believe to be some of the greatest vocalists in rock, Freddie, Ann Wilson of Heart back in 1977 and Steve Perry of Journey in 1982 & 1983, hell I'd even throw in Dennis DeYoung of Styx as another who I saw in 1978 & 1983. Nobody compares to Freddie as far as having complete command of an audience though.
Queen is one of my favorite groups of all time, partly because they don't have one style but are unafraid to let their music evolve and try new things, but also because of Freddie's amazing showmanship. Now I want to see you guys react to the official video of "I Want to Break Free." I think you guys will have fun with that one. It is definitely the fun side of Queen.
@@ajruther67 aww man that is just wrong, the Live Aid performance is the epitomy of Freddy's greatness and it showcases why he is the absolute legend he is. Rami Malek is talented and did a good job portraying him but no one can match Freddy's stage presence.
I don't like being so old but I really appreciate that I got to see Queen and some of the other bands you have reacted to. Great that you love all this stuff so much. On another video Amber was talking about how a lot of the older music seemed to mean more than some more recent music. I don't totally agree because it is only the good stuff that gets remembered (I remeber plenty of things in the charts in the 70s and 80s I have no desire to hear ever again). Love your channel - keep it up.
Personally, I think it’s better to hear the studio version before watching a live performance because then you’ll see how freaking brilliant they were live - all four of them.
@@gafre2757 no, this is the official video - Queen several times filmed videos that were set up to just *look* like a live performance, but we’re actually done on a soundstage or rehearsal studio. They did the same with the official video for Don’t Stop Me Now and yes, for the “live” parts of the Bohemian Rhapsody video. More examples of official videos that are pretend-live performances are the ones for We Are The Champions and for Friends Will Be Friends. The “audiences” in those were members of the Official International Queen Fan Club.
THE GREATEST BAND with THE GREATEST FRONTMAN EVER In HISTORY! This was their take on Disco, thanks to John Deccan for writing this fun song(even if it too short) you just can’t beat the bass riff. Unfortunately the “riff” in this song never gets on the “greatest riffs in history “ because it’s on a bass instead of guitar. Freddie Mercury is greatly missed 😪😭wish he had lived longer so I could have experienced what other great hit he would have sung.😍🥰🤟🤟🌈
This is such a dark song to have such a cool vibe! I think that's why I loved it so much. After I got the album, way back when, I was blown away by the beginning lyrics.. the lines and the way Freddie sings it, hitting every syllable as he struts: Steve walks warily down the street With his brim pulled way down low Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet Machine guns ready to go Are you ready hey are you ready for this? Are you hanging on the edge of your seat? Out of the doorway the bullets rip To the sound of the beat yeah.. Excellent performance!
As a 5 year old kid living in Alaska... I sat on my babysitters bed and she opened up a record jacket... looked intensely at the label... flips it over... looks again... sets the record on the player and carefully places the needle and this beat hits me... I've been hooked on Queen ever since... this was 1980...👍

Who Wants to Live Forever and it came out in 1986, on A Kind of Magic, two more albums would follow before he would pass, The Miracle and Innuendo
Funny you should mention that song. Watching J. and Amber's reaction decades after his death, I thought to myself, "This is what immortality looks like."
If you want to really see Freddy and Queen own a crowd and the stage watch the full set they did at Live Aid it’s been talked about for over 40 years now
Is amazing!
Freddie, Michael and Prince all entertainers that will never have an equal. Literally kings or a queen in their own fields.
I highly highly recommend you watch the live aid set. Queen absolutely killed that performance and I think you’ll love it, Freddie had the whole crowd mesmerised and wrapped around his finger.
Queen Live Aid Best 20 minutes of music in HISTORY ♥️
Watch “Now I’m Here” live from Wembley to see the whole band jamming! 🔥🎶🔥
Freddie was the greatest front man in the history of rock and roll! What a great showman!
As mentioned already, react to the Live Aid performance. It's about 20 minutes long, but it has been considered the best live performance ever. Freddies control of the stage and crowd is unprecedented. Do it! You'll thank us later.
You are, by far, the best reactors on TH-cam. Keep up the awesome work!
Somebody To Love live in Montreal is a must see!! You'll have a new respect for his vocals and just how well the preforms together!!😊
Save Me is another great one from that show. I saw them during that tour in September 1980 at Madison Square Garden and that song was amazing live.
This song is recommended for CPR. Perfect rhythm.
Great reaction - got to see Queen at Live Aid in 86 - best performance ever.
I love this basically Queens answer to Disco!!!!! A funky song you can dance In the Club to, but still very much them too!!! 🤗❤✌
Freddie....untouchable! Great reaction guys!💕
For Freddie's swag watch Live Aid and watch him strut.
Hi guys, love the channel. You have so go to see Freddie and Queen at Live Aid, how he sings with the crowd is magical!
You need to see Queen at Live Aid 1985. It's 20 minutes
Yes they need to react to that
@@Alliebaba7782 They still haven't yet but they watched the movie first which is just wrong
@@ajruther67 aww man that is just wrong, the Live Aid performance is the epitomy of Freddy's greatness and it showcases why he is the absolute legend he is.
Rami Malek is talented and did a good job portraying him but no one can match Freddy's stage presence.
Queen at Live Aid you will not regret it!!! It is the greatest live performance in history.
For twenty minutes Queen ruled the world 🌎.
No Rick Dees “Disco Duck”😂
Hey man, we may be old but we got to see all the COOL bands.
@@patriciamcelroy3581 😳🤫
@@patriciamcelroy3581 YES!! And let's hear some "Convoy" and "The Streak". LOL
@@dlcalbaugh "Dead skunk in the middle of the road"
Queen is the "king" of sporting event songs. Another one bites the dust, We are the champions, We will rock you
Personally, I think it’s better to hear the studio version before watching a live performance because then you’ll see how freaking brilliant they were live - all four of them.
Agreed
Agree. Watch the live version after you are familiar with the song.
With Queen there isn't much difference between the live and studio version.
this is the studio version dubbed over a live performance.
It's time!!! Ya'll need to do Queen from Live Aide full set!!!! 💯😉❤✌
John Deacon (( Bass player)) wrote this song; all 4 wrote Number 1 songs for the band
This song was written by bass man, Mr Deacon. Indeed, all band members of Queen wrote #1 hits! A feat not even the Beatles did!
This is such a dark song to have such a cool vibe! I think that's why I loved it so much. After I got the album, way back when, I was blown away by the beginning lyrics.. the lines and the way Freddie sings it, hitting every syllable as he struts:
Steve walks warily down the street
With his brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet
Machine guns ready to go
Are you ready hey are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat yeah..
Excellent performance!
The Show Must Go On is probably my favorite Queen song!
As a 5 year old kid living in Alaska... I sat on my babysitters bed and she opened up a record jacket... looked intensely at the label... flips it over... looks again... sets the record on the player and carefully places the needle and this beat hits me... I've been hooked on Queen ever since... this was 1980...👍
An awesome song, you can't go wrong with Queen!
He's the consumate showman ! He OWNS the stage, your eyes are drawn to him. His performance at Live Aid is incredible!
Try "save me" live. Brilliant performance.
Freddie is one of the greatest rock vocalists ever!
I have enjoyed y'all reacting to the sound track of my life.
Yasss! Freddie is " that man"! I'm so happy Amber is coming around to Queen. So much more to see. Check out Freddie singing opera with Monsterrat Cabballet
Queen! There's nothing like them. Freddie's voice is unbelievable.
