    This is one of the best paper reviews I have seen so far. You verbally explained everything you felt was necessary to get across, plus you gave visual support for your comments. My only concern is will these papers pass through my printer? I worry anything that heavy (thick) will not pass through as with my printer the paper must do a ‘180’ as it leaves the tray, wraps around a rotating bar as it is printed upon, and then sent out of the machine. I guess the only way to find out is to ask for some samples from the manufacturer and do the tests you just did. Thank you for this video. It was very professionally done.

      Hi Robert thank you so much, really appreciate it. I’m take my time to research when it comes to my art prints 🌿 I would recommend like you said to ask for a sample, my printer, the canon takes, in theory up to 300~300 gsm, but I’ve tested bit thicker papers and it worked just fine, but testing it definitely a good idea.

    Thank you SO much for sharing this information! I started using the staples matte photo paper last year after watching your previous video and I still use it to this day for my art prints! I’ve been able to stock up on them but I’m sad to hear they’re being discontinued. I’ll definitely be trying out your suggestions in this video ❤️

      Hi Elizabeth! I'm still using my Staples too, I also stocked up🙊 But I'm happy to report, there's many other good options out there for out art prints:) And I'm very positively surprised with them!

    I found your channel looking for iPad Pro vs iPad Air comparisons by artists. Thanks for that.
    I’m a photographer, and have been printing my own work for 30 years. First traditionally in the darkroom, and then digitally.
    I appreciate the detail in your reviews of each of the papers. It makes me happy that artists still seek out and desire certain qualities in paper. The digital tools we have are amazing, but I still believe printing is the ultimate way to present.
    Personally, I’m a big fan of Hahnemuehle Fine Art Baryta for my black and white photography. It reminds me of high end darkroom paper.
    For color I prefer Hahnemuehle William Turner. It has a very rough surface.
    I would suggest looking into Paper Profiles for your printer. They attempt to correct the amount of inks based on the color and absorption of the papers which will balance things out cooler and warmer papers. So if you find a textured paper you really like, but think it’s too yellow in the print area, you can install the paper profile, and adjust it to look more like your original.
    Hope that helps!
    And again, it’s great to see artists still embracing prints.

      Hi William, thank you so much for the in-depth comment. Thank you for that, I’m always happy to see how other artists work and their techniques. Definitely, I agree that print is the best way to present your work, unless is animation :) and I will definitely look into the colour profile for papers, I should have included that in this video, but it’s a great idea for a follow-up 🌳 thanks again

    I read somewhere that warmer coloured print papers are for warmer-looking drawings and cooler coloured ones are for cooler-looking drawings.

    A very good review, thanks for making this video! I use the Epson Archival Matte photo paper myself, and I'm very happy with it -- although I too find it to be thinner than ideal. Still the best I could get my hands on in that price range. Looking forward to giving the Hahnemühle papers a try in the future! :)

    Hello Asia, I loved your review of many papers, thank you for this video. :*) I would just want to share out of my own experience, if you would love to have long-lasting quality prints with minimum light colour fades try to stick just to fine art quality paper, Hahnemühle paper is lovely, you also can try cotton fine art paper which in my opinion are the best. I use usually Canon & Epson paper for photography prints with my awareness that they do change very quickly in room light. Good luck in your career dear xoxo. By the way, I'm also an illustrator living in The Hague, so if you want to meet up once for a fun day out sketching and sharing art passion with a friend let me know ;)

    Thanks so much for making this video! I've been trying to search for a good matte paper for my own prints as I currently only offer gloss paper in my store - I love Hahnemuhle's watercolour paper so I'll definitely have to give the Photo Rag Bright White paper a go :)

      @AsiaOrlando  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s so great Anna, I really liked the overall quality of the Bright White, it doesn’t show super week on screen, but in person, the print looks amazing. I mean all papers I’ve tried look really good, but this one is absolutely great 🌿 let me know how it goes

    awesome video very informative i was searching for someone to make video about paper and you're has a very large sample of test!
    yours was very complete and is think will help me a lot, plus you put all the link in description so thank you so much for the great video!
    but one critisim I must say is that your camera can be a bit shaky at time, which can make it hard to concentrate on what you are showing when there are a lots of half focus shot and the over the shoulder angle that might not make it very clear. Maybe a photo of all the differents prints on the table shot front the top might have been good.
    that being said i'm sorry for the unprompted advise/critsism. I hope you take it like a helpful tip from an non-content, terrible non professionnal photograph/vidoe maker.
    ps : your image quality is send from heaven themself tho!♥

    Thanks for creating this paper-update video. After watching your last one and seeing the difference in prints-with Staples' paper really standing out-I tried to get my hands on it-with no success. Will definitely be giving Photo Rag a go. Thanks so much for this insightful video and, I am all signed up for your class-just need to make the time to actually do it. Definitely looking forward to it. 🙂👍Love your art. 🥰

    Hi Asia! thanks for your video!...Creo que hablas español, no? Me gustaría preguntarte si es más rentable imprimir tus reproducciones en casa frente a hacerlo en una imprenta profesional...he estado mirando la impresora que usas y parece ir todo genial. Pero me da miedo pensar en el consumo de tinta, más el papel...yo quiero imprimir en Hanemühle de 300 gr, y me gustaría hacerlo en casa porque donde vivo no hay ninguna imprenta especializada en Fine Art...qué consejo me puedes dar según tu experiencia? Mil gracias!!!!

    • @AsiaOrlando
      @AsiaOrlando  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hola Beatriz. Todo depende, en mi caso me gusta controlar la calidad y el proceso. Lleva tiempo pero me permite imprimir sin necesidad de tener stock. La tinta se consume, pero rinde muy bien.

      Sorry, that wasn’t meant to be condescending, but it totally depends on the amount of prints that someone makes.
      Asia could be doing 10 or 1000 prints a month.
