A product demo has no business sounding this good.
Nekopara must die.
But, yes the music is good. What did you expect, it's RDJ
Got the monologue solely because of this demo
Right!? It just makes the users frustrated to the point of insanity because they won't be able to make it sound this good.
Taylor Everard yep but when you Know you have the same device, all you have to do is practice, and practice again, that’s what makes the difference.
@@vinesaucevinnyfanedits1914 biny
I can't believe Aphex went and did the snare mod on the volca beats in an official korg tech demo the absolute madman
he probably just used volca sample for the snare
Katie Foal He started making music by building his own synths from scrap, so it’s not so sacrilegious. They should release an official Aphex mod kit for the Beats because the Beats is crap by itself.
HE CARES COS YOU DO?
Did he actually? I was wondering that
The what?
you could give richard a gameboy and have the best chiptune track in the world

Not actually chiptune, but close.

how a demo can be a masterpiece
Its aphex twin
Its Richard D James.
Because you’re tonedeaf.
Listen to the Roland R8 demos, they were basically full bangers made on a drum machine.
Yeah became one of my top 10 RDJ tracks, I listen this so much
KORG introduces Aphex Son™ now with microtuning.
wonder if his son is a computer controlled acoustic... i remember Richard saying he was messing around with human embryos... what has he done???
fucking lol
The old dirty bastard..kept in the basement!..funky remix, eh?!?!👑

circuit-bent Son

virtual Son
This really shows that it’s not the tools you use it’s how you use them
lmao this is made with really fucking good gear
@@px3r. bro most of the drums were made on the volca beats, one of the worst sounding drum machines on the market

@@canon5204 I know I'm late, but he modded his volca beats snare, and also uses 3 monologues lmao
@@wavyeenYES I honestly don’t get how is it supposed to make the monologue look good if you need at least 3 of them, 2 vintage korgs and fucking Richard out of all people in the world to make it work🤣
"Why can't I get that vibe even I got all those gear?"
"Cause you're not Richard."

Hearing that riff just kick in again is absolute magic dude!
TheModulator seriously tho it’s heavenly
crazy tasteful harmonies
how come mine doesn't sound like that
Because Aphex Twin 😆
Cause buddy was using three of the fuckers
You can make it sound like this, just spend time with it and experiment
@@undervalium There is a point... but try just one of them with three osc's. Use the tuned and keytracked filter as the third and you're going into very heavy territory...
@@danielelston7457 and buy two more of them... and get a way to make a longer sequence with external gear...
give Richard a fucking air conditioner and he could make Mozart look like a 13 yr old rapper from Atlanta.
Nah Mozart gotta be one of the only people in history that Richard doesn’t absolutely dwarf in talent and genius. Both are inhumanly good at making music.
is that good or bad
You have so many machines, Richard
He hasn't got that many.
@@Gencoil I hope he never have enough of them tho!
He can make anything sound great
@@danielelston7457 i wish he would make a track using GarageBand and GarageBand presets
@@Gencoil three years between call and response! Beautiful.
the bassline coming in at 1:08 is so killer i can't even understand how a sound like that is possible. he's the world's best no question
ridiculous isnt it. Proper gorgeous sound
him and DJ Screw, born the same year 1971 non-coincidentally
Pretty sure that's the ms20 and not the minilogue , because you also clearly hear a resonant high pass filter which is NOT on the monologue
@@WARDISWARD he's using the resonant frequencies as another melodic element, harmonizing with the rest of the synth lines, pretty ridiculous

After such a shitty weekend, this is exactly what I needed.
edit: 4 years later I'm having a great weekend and this is still exactly what I needed.
Joel How’s your weekend now?
Lol the next Aphex track on the Melodic selection playlist is uploaded from this guy
Moral of the story is that Aphex twin is exactly what we need.
I have a good weekend ones after 4 years of bad weekend
longest weekend ever - where you like in a time loop- never heard of a 4 year weekend thought they were just 2 days
quality tuss vibes
Synthacon 10
It has syro u473t8+e vibes but smoother and less aggressive.
WasteOfResources The Tuss was/is my favorite.
Klopjob
I have seriously never heard anything like this before in my life. Incredible.
down the AFX rabbit hole u go ~~~> enjoi it !
Listen to syro some insane stuff
Aphex Twin and Squarepusher discography and you are good to go.
@@arturor5205 hmm, by this time, he should be just about finishing richard's stuff :)
dont forget luke vibert
The harmony between the melody + bassline at 2:22 is great

3x Monologues for this! One for funky bassline/1 sub/2nd bassline synth with preset of monologue.

lol He'll probably just get jumped all the time with this theme song playing continuously lol

Hehe 😄
Lmfao 💀
i can't stop listening to this
Joyfully innocent melodies, expansive wobbly pads and tight af programming. Everything I love best about RDJ. I need a whole album of this.
Polgeria Sucks Shit, I laughed
Check his bleep store, there is now an album of monologue recordings :)
He did an album with same setup as here, plus korg ms20
HOLY FUCKING SHIT HOW MANY FUCKING MASTERPIECES THIS MAN HAS
Staccato n Pitch bend=lushness.Bliss.That riff is delicious.
I think i love Korg even more now because of this, thank you Richard.
EpicBlargman they’ve always been amazing but yeah the diversity in sound, my godddd
Best bassline I've ever heard.
Dude Aphex Twin is fucking insane
feels like this is more a demo of Aphex Twin than of Korg Monologue itself)))
STOP MAKING THAT BIG FACE
HEY, THAT'S NOT FAIR
You've got so many machines Richard!
Sounds like the same kid! But couldnt possibly be since the amount of time that has passed. I always love his vocal samples.
yeah but credits says son on vox and the sample "monologue" is quiet clear taht its new;)
Richard's children all are machines that he built - they will not age.
Unmistakably Aphex. Fucking belter.
Why aye!
holy krap :) everytime I listen to this, it's better and better
Damn straight I've played it about 30 times
IKR
That production is indescribable.
Game over, guys. Go home everyone.

his lush analog studio gear would be a sight to behold. Ive pushed the eqs and compressors on neve and SSL consoles and this is the fat soupy goodness that you get. aside from his genius, his mixing is also other worldly and unlike no other. respect to the god
1:52 makes me cry of Funk bliss
Has there ever been a better hardware demo, except for maybe the Creative Labs keyboard guy?
wan, doo, fee, for ... dis ese wok aan wol
Let's play double time for the hihet! Double bass!
You have to check the ACIDBOX 3 demo then!
Or the guy in the MXR reverb pedal video!
the toontrack and AAS lounge lizard guy is really good
Cool, so if I buy all that stuff I’ll sound like him right?
reminds me a lot of minipops
Yeah me too. I feel like this would have fit fine on Syro.
G that's actually fucking dope
Reminds me a bit of MARCHROMT30a too
Terrific track from the master himself.
Long Live Master Richard 🙏
He is not dead
Jesus christ this is amazing
Love it! Been replaying this all week :)
Such a great little synth. The AFX presets sound amazing.
Nobody else in the world inspires me more to make music then Richard D James fact!
Sounds so rich
-ard.
Love how people are desperately trying to attribute this mastery to the Cirklon. It's not that you're talentless, it's just that you don't own
This is actually fire.
Richard is the master of producing sounds and combinations of those said sounds that would've been improbable to foresee, yet they somehow make perfect sense when put together in the EXACT way.
IMHO this RDJ snare mod should be standard on Volca Beats... Korg, please!
Artemiy Pavlov just do it yourself. it's not too hard and it's dirt cheap.
the full drum is Volca Beats!!
well done KORG! I've listened to what Aphex Twin can do with your synth and I just got one, today! but to make it sound like Richard is the long way to go. Great product!
Love it! All the rights sounds.
He’s the man,pure and simple…
This crazy microtuning that james uses. Jesus christ, there are so many possibilities in that. Really wish more artists would nerd around with microtuning. This is stuff that James comes up with, with his alternative tuning schemes, it's absolutely incredible and gorgeous 😀
just sitting here and smiling, thanks rich!!
Great demonstration Richard ;D
I LOVE YOU RICHIE!
I have all this Korgs and I can't sound like this... that is pure talent!
I love that it’s a demo for Korg but he clearly has the snare mod on the volca 😂
Sounds like it's always layered with a clap to me.
The force that is Richard D. James. He's our Bach.
Sounds like something from Syro
Where do i buy a richard d james
Dude this track is awesome
Best demo ever! :D
This is so good!
Such skill, genius !
I liked the bleeps and blooops the best
1:52 - 2:38 perhaps the greatest moments in music? Or is it just me?
You look like the physics professor at my university lol
you are correct
yes , goosebumps
The good stuff ... I liked some of the recent interview with the korg chap (the bits I could understand)
love love love that part @ 2:05 when the drums come back in, magik
He still has the magic touch :)
this is microtuning is phenomenal
great, finally a real demo
1:50 jesus christ! I had to listen to this part over and over again
tveskegg yeah i love that 2
it reminds me to the Chinese stage of The flintstones: The rescue of Dino and Hoppy from NES
really interesting harmonies along with his signature odd but satisfying rhythmic phrasing
My brain latches on to the harmonies and wont let go, I think the microtuning is creating intervals that ive never heard before and its bewildering and amazing
I love the whole thing but god yes. It says Korg Monologue x 3. Im thinking its 3 korgs with different tuning and filters and then that one just breaks off.
Just amazing....
This is duckin amazin
I have just bought a monologue, its an amazing analogue synth.
Best demo ever
This is why I want to learn synth.
i'm kinda sad for all the people that don't know or understand how freaking good this is
I'm sad as well. I try to introduce aphex to everyone I can but they just don't get it. It goes right over their head. They haven't got a CLUE how freaking good this is!! I don't want to be rude but they remind me of mindless zombies listening to crap when they COULD be listening to Aphex Twin :(
haha well said
Cherry Flowers Yeah I rembember when I was in my early 20's, I used to have Aphex Twin in my car all the time to the point several of my friends asked to turn off the weird music lol.
i think this song is pretty good but i think this is one of the most accessible song that aphex made. i think this would be easy to understand for everyone unlike druqks or other amazing albums like that
@@deejaydaniel4154 When druqks released back in the day it blew my mind.

Simply Glorious
i love this song and i love this synth... I love Richard (l)
amazing genius award
If Richard didn’t have people sold on this synth before then this is it right here. He kind of really put power into it.

Amazing 😍
If anyone from Korg is reading, any chance of a modern version of the kr55/55b drum machine? .i believe the sounds on these machines are the best analogue drum sounds ever made especially the snare.fed up of endless 808/909 remakes.
EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it!

wow awesome!
none of us have an excuse anymore beside not being a genius it seems. love it. gear doesnt matter.
Proof that gear really does not matter, great track.
Monologue is a great piece though.
imho this proves exact opposite, my opinion 100% wrong i think :-)
The gear doesn't hurt either 😋
pigo & pogo malescy How so? He is using a bunch of budget orientated synthesizers here, only one not being in that category being the MS20, and he managed to produce a great track with this stuff rather than his millions of dollars worth of other equipment.
I guess what you wanted to say is: Proof that very expensive gear really does not matter, great track.
