There's actually an explanation for this. That demonstration has a chance to softlock the game, and end the run. It's pretty rare. When I was doing anthology runs, I had several runs make it to that scene on really good pace where I was unlucky enough to get the softlock. I wanna say it happened about four to five times in the span of a week. So needless to say, I was pretty nervous going into that section.

I think the thing that makes certain speed games fun to watch isn't the entertainment factor of the game, it's popularity or even it's nostalgia factor. It's the content creators for that game, and how they promote their game by making high quality commentary videos explaining what the hell is going on. Watching someone teleport through a game with no commentary is not entertaining or engaging. Listening to a guy named tomatoanus give an in depth explanation on how cover sliding, punch warping, speed cripple and coc all work and lay out the strategy of the speedrun, now that's same engaging. Anyway, with that setup out of the way, here's my comment - tomatoanus, you are the reason the fallout games are my favourite speed games. And your name is funny.
Ok this might not actually save any time but when you are talking to doc Mitchell and he tells you to sit down at the beginning of the game you can get up right before you are forced to stay sitting down if you time it right. I do it pretty much every time I play just for the fun of it.

Speedrunning as a concept sort of baffles me but I watched this entire video after viewing your Fallout: NV "Sleep With Everyone" speedrun. Speedrunning as a concept sort of baffles me but I watched this entire video after viewing your Fallout: NV "Sleep With Everyone" speedrun. Commentary is funny, explanations are clear, and watching how everything comes together more-or-less without a hitch is really fascinating. I don't really have anything insightful to add except that "VLC clipping" got a huge chuckle out of me as well as someone in chat saying "I like to imagine that post-apocalyptic New England decided to switch to speaking French simply because it is faster." Keep up the good work!
