Kirk adding wahs at random moments is the most Kirk thing I've ever seen
It's good to see that Lars has obviously been practicing and got himself back in shape. He had reached a sad meme status for a while. And I'm not sure how it's possible, but James Hetfield's voice sounds better than it ever has.
Those tribute band getting mention must be an amazing feeling knowing lars taking attention to those.
@@enginestarter664 Lmao!! That's what I was thinking too.
@@enginestarter664 So what you are saying is that you know mothing about music.
James voice sounds awesome 🤘 best shape in a long time! Whole band sounds just great!🤘
I noted the same about James, he sounds really good and physically looks to be in some of the best shape over the last 10 years or so.
I feel the same on James. Lars is unpredictable as usual, sometimes he’s tight as hell, sometimes he’s very sloppy. Kirk seems to have problems remembering some leads here and there. He plays wrong notes/chords from time to time still. Rob is rock solid as always.
If I heard this video playing in the background I'd think it was the studio version. Picture perfect performance.
They change some things. Kirk's lead interludes are different and Lars uses the toms on the big fill at the end.
I bet Lars got the lawyers to follow up with the cover bands to collect licence fees
This is the tightest I’ve heard Metallica in a long time. They’re re-energized.
The fame they received in the series Stranger Things really brought them back.
How is that even possible at what age 60??!! What a spark what energy!! They look and sound so awesome! Killer song.
This is the best they've sounded in years. Killer stuff
Man... the sound mixing is always 💯 on Howard Stern.
With the metallica team, also on jimmy Kimmel, they don't do it without there own team
@@michelmeijer yet on Kimmel Lar’s drums were so loud on Master of Puppets that they overpowered everything else on stage, sound level wise. It was kind of absurd, the ego he has.
Wow the whole band sounded fantastic! That's the best I've heard Lars play since the 80s
lmao he could barely keep the tempo, he kept rushing or dragging and couldn't steady
@@Josh-it6uy mostly was slightly rushed, some of the cymbal chokes had to be a bit dragged where the guitar filled in but was hardly a disaster.
@@Josh-it6uy
You should contact him - maybe you can give him a few drum lessons. Then Metallica might finally become a successful band.
🤡 🤡 🤡
Lars did good here. The best thing imho is that he didn't improvise fills and stayed 'on script'. Sometimes that's all you want from a drummer 😊
I’m sorry, I’m still a Lars fan. This whole band just brings the energy. Absolutely legendary!!!
@@MaYstruction Arguably the richest drummer alive should learn to play the drums? 🤡
My god could be 1983..I don't know how James kept his voice..Lars is definitely back and out of his downward spiral as a drummer...James looks sober and super healthy-
James vocals sound the best they ever have...he's really impressed me in recent years. His voice on this new album is my favorite its ever been.
I don't care what anyone says I love Kirk's solo! It's just so visceral and raw and explosive, just a burst of emotion. I love the whole damn song! And James's singing is on another level! They killed it!
That was incredibly tight. They haven't sounded this good in a long time.
Such a tight/solid performance. Hetfields vox are beyond amazing, great to see they're all still on top of their game🤘🏻
James’ voice is stronger than ever 🤘
After all these years they’re still doing the dam thing and sound amazing. Love it
Lars is back baby. James is killing it.
This mix is butter.
the more I listen to this song, especially live, the more I like it
That was so tight. One of their best performances as of late.
Wow totally - I have not listened to Metallica in 20 or so years (moved on to heavier less "mainstream" stuff), and definitely prefer their early 90s sound, but this one surprised me, including James doing some lower snippets. Respect.
Damn, that's a gnarly bass tone Rob has going. The mix and the performance is fantastic.
It is great to see these guys back doing what they do best. Thanks Metallica
Damn they fucking nailed it. Love the new album so far and I know it’s only going to grow on me as I listen more.
I swear james voice just gets better with age, one of the greatest vocalists of all time if not the best
I love the false ending near the 3:35 mark - and then the band says, "We're not close to done yet!" Great song, tight, tight, tight playing.
40 years on stage, close to turning 60 and still releasing kick ass music. Long live Metallica! \M/
Howards sound guys are amazing! When they all come in at the end of that opening riff... amazing!
Hell yeah! Metallica was actually playing and not just performing. Energy was awesome 🤟🏻
That track could easily be in their first album. Same vibes as Hit the Lights.
Metallica are still so great after all these years. They’re strength in songwriting is incredible.
LARS IS KILLING IT!!!
Lars' double bass is so tight
You can tell they are really proud of what they have created and have put in the work!! F’n amazing! Well done Metallica.
Wow! Tight and smooth. One of their best Stern performances.
Been listening to these guys since 84. They are like family to me. We are close to the same age and Hetfield going to Downey high school by my house makes them see closer. I’m 57 and they have been going on while my life goes through different seasons.
Luz Æterna is one of the first song I heard in the new album and I already knew that "72 seasons" was going to be a masterpiece
Out of all of the 80s rockers, James’ voice has held up better than any of them in any genre. And I’m not even a huge Metallica fan, but it is just undeniable he’s sounds better than the vast majority of singers from his era. He sound fantastic!
Tight, energetic and good to dance to. Metallica is always an inspiration!
I love how well Lars played, and he didn't do any unnecessary fills, he did the same ones in the song for the most part.. and even did one that wasn't, and it was fine.
Well done gentlemen. After all these years you sound amazingly refreshed and still totally pumping, All power to you. Your well-respected position in music history is so well deserved. Long may you continue.
I love the way lars stays slightly behind in tempo, such a unique sound none will ever recreate, so punk they sound amazing
On fuckin' point... outstanding performance , everybody was on FIIIYAH!. . well done MetallicA!
Howard’s reaction was pure emotion! He’s the best
One thing I always loved about Metallica's songs is their accessibility and how fun they are to play
That “Light It!” was gnarly 🔥
Most people don't understand how hard this band works. Inbetween European and South American and North American tours and rehearsals for them, and constant random shows here and there, they are writing, rehearsing and recording new material, probably more aggressively than in the 80's and 90's. That's not mentioning the videos and the myriad other things they have going on. And the are all hands-on Family men!
Amazing performance - James and Lars are on fire in this song!
One of my fave Metallica songs now
Coming back to “And justice for all” days and fricking shedding it. Fricking AWESOME! 🤙🇦🇺
Motorhead vibes here....what a belter of a tune
Holy shit they sound good
Everyone besides Lars, but I guess that can just go unspoken at this point lol
@@Tdrummer888 Lars actually sounds better than ever in this recording
This song is so much fun. I really can’t get enough of it.
This is by far my favourite song
It’s a kick in the ass in the morning get up get going full energy
Great song. After all these years the Band continues to play with passion and great energy
Robert looks like he's having so much fun playing with his hero's !
I mean he’s been with them for 20 years… longer than any other bassist so he’s just as much part of the band now.
Awesome version! How the bass is rollin’ … how James’ voice sounds … really great performance. I am so much looking forward to see the “boyz” live again. 🤘💀🤘
as Metallica grows stronger with time, i can't imagine the fun to hear and see them doing this in 10 years!! This will be massive and unreal, yet i'm absolutely sure they'll go for it with a wild joy
Great song, great band with incredible musicians. Brilliant.
Beautiful voice! Owesome!♥️🔥
That was quite energetic and almighty badass, I must say! 🤘🏻 Been a huge fan since ‘85. They are reborn.
Wow. They played very tightly together. Awesome!!!!🎉
they always give 100% performance no matter where.. The Legend 🤟
James making sure that Lars is up to what's happening throughout the song is the most Metallica thing of history
Wow, how much energy in this video! Great performance guys, greetings from Brazil. 🤘🇧🇷
Now that´s just amazing! Lars is better than he´s been in many years it seems. And James voice is just great!
Man they sound phenomenal 🤘🏻
Hey there, Lars. Happy to see you finally back from the shadows!
Boys sounding great and the sound mixing is fantastic!
It's been some decades I haven't heard new stuff of them (I wasn't curious since relaod).
They kept the same energy. ! So awesome.
It remembers me the previous millenium.
This actually blew me away!!
Metallica is on a new peak. It’s great to see them absolutely killing it
This is what happens when you master your craft................................ Legendary
That was amazing! Im so happy for the band and the energy they bring! 👌🎉
Love how loud Rob is 🙌
This was probably the tightest live performance of this song so far
Fucking incredible that these guys still bring this energy level to it. Tight.
Que pedazo de presentación, es sorpréndete ver a Lars con Doble Bombo de nuevo
Se rifaron muy cañón.
howard and metallica always seem to have a great chemistry when theyre on his show
Sounding better than ever 🤘🤘
Today I bought tickets for me and my 10 year old daughter to see them in Aug 2024. Can hardly wait!
They sound incredible, better than before, and at that age! Admirable
James Hetfield is a national treasure.
This mix is incredible
Been a fan since '86. This is badass.
I'm just impressed Lars made it through without keeling over. Especially as they sped up ever so slightly towards the end.
They actually killed it for you this. That was absolutely amazing
For me - one of the best Metallica Songs 🤟 great performance
Holy crap, that was actually impressive! The band is tight, and while I can't say the songwriting is classic-Metallica-memorable, the song still bangs.
And it sounds even better live, that was a tight performance. The sound guys are good.
James voice is a miracle! Great!
