Roskilde 2011 is better, same with their live in the k pit show and pretty much everything on their workhorse chronicles dvd. This is a great performance tho

I started listening to Mastodon back in 2011 (can't believe that was 12 years ago) right before The Hunter came out which still remains one of my favourite albums of all time to this day. I saw them live back at Download 2013 and even so I don't think I've ever heard them sound better than this. They have truly become iconic, Troy is an absolute beast of a frontman, Bill is one of the tightest rhythm players of all time, Brent is an absolute wizard on lead guitar and Brann is one of the best metal drummers of all time.
the guy on the synth should become a official member of Masterdon he plays a big part already, plays in allot of their shows and if he can give creative input - it might add to their songs!
Great Rasta, he is excellent technically. For those who don't know, he is very famous in Brazil, he has a humorous attitude, but with a very high intellectual level
João 'Rasta' Nogueira, besides music he does humor based social commentary , but I feel this style simply does not does justice to his musicality, versatility and technical ability.

Here and there over the years I've had the thought that Mastodon should have had a dedicated front man, like a freakishly talented vocalist who could do all the voices (and more), but I now know that person doesn't exist, and of course the band wouldn't have had the same unique sound.
