That transfer case hole I believe is caused by the pump rocking back and forth in the case , they put case savers in them now same thing happened to my 03 half ton , I go through Nelson auto out of hiderdahl Minnesota, it’s a salvage yard that only deals with 99 and up GM, I got a used transmission and a remand transfer case for 1100 bucks and they warranty it to
Welllll shit. I've been chasing the same issues with my 05 2500HD Duramax. Had several issues and each item I've changed has solve one or more. NBSU got the truck to start again. Solenoid wiring harness for the truck to shift into gear again. But now I still have the Shift Range Inhibited and Service Brake System flash every so often. Was about to do the speed sensor until I washed your follow up video. Merchant Auto has tail housing repair kits for around $650. You think that would solve the problem instead of a whole transfer case? I'm about to trade this thing in for a Cummins before I drop $3,000 on a truck with 235,000 miles.
Im thinking just cough the 3150 fr the transfer case . 600 a that is core charge . I did read some forums vthat the service brake system is a tcm issue . Only the half ton has brake sensors . Worst truck ive owned in my life ! Constantly something !
You can get just the rear half of the tcsse that's made from T-6062 with new pump, case saver, gaskets, seals, and tools from Merchant Automotive. If the shafts in your case is good then you don't need a new case.
I'm not sure I believe the service brake system issue is a TCM. You were on to something with the speed sensor. TCM needs input from the truck for speed to make adjustments. For some reason I thought the Allison had a turbine speed sensor as well but I haven't found anything on that. Might be the Allison 3000 in RVs and Kodiaks only.
Sucks man!! I feel for ya with these transmission problems. I'm doing my best to put a oldschool back on the daily driver job. Tired of the electronics and tail chasing issues of today's vehicles. 🤮🤮🤮 there all crap.
@@theweldor757 They are stupid expensive however, prolly the strongest in the world. ( That means, they are much much cheaper than anything for a new truck ) Thats also why I dont have anything much later than '03. Id go for it even if I had to cut a hole in the floorboard for a shift lever! :)
