I actually bought Star Wars Battlefront on the PC and like it a lot. I never play BF4 on the PC, it gets me bored right away. Star Wars already felt like an evolution of Battlefield with the cool laser effects trough the forest, crazy sound effect, crazy graphics and the gameplay isnt bad. It sadly lacks content, but since the game is different to everything you play, it will be fun and good for when you are tired of the regular MP games like Battlefield, COD...

Poorly placed checkpoints are my #1 pet peeve. I can't stand it when brand new games put a check point BEFORE a cutscene. Forcing you to watch it over and over again before you even get to play!
I wasn't ever referring to difficulty. Simply that developers should be smart enough to setup a checkpoint after the cutscene rather than immediately before. It makes no sense at all. It doesn't add or subtract difficulty, it just forces the player to skip the cutscene each time (or watch it if they can't skip it).

No Joe, as a hardcore Killzone fan this is not what pleases me. Shadow Fall was such a disappointment for me. The gameplay felt awkward because Sony wanted to show off all of the new features. The story made no fucking sense at all. It was like how the ending of Mass Effect 3 made no sense but Guerrilla made it an entire fucking game.

I really do sometimes feel ashamed to be a gamer ... all these assholes putting a bad name for us; "Oh, Playstation is better than Xbox!", "Xbox is better than Playstation!", "PC master race you peasants!". It's painful to watch/read. I support competition, but this is pure dick behaviour. And as a PC gamer, I'm disgusted to see my fellow PC friends behaving just as bad as all the rest. I am in a maybe sorta different camp than most people because I am a PC gamer who desperately *_WANTS_* to love consoles, but just can't. See - I *_was_* a console gamer. It's all I had, all I needed, all I wanted. But look what happened to me... I started with the NES and Genesis. Then I had an N64 and Gamecube, and then my glorious PS2 time... ... and then I bought a PS3. And then I got a good PC... and - well... I am not lying: *_I FORGOT I still had my PS3. I honestly forgot until I noticed it while cleaning up, all dusty on a shelf, and I sold it._* See what happened there? I think it speaks volumes of what is going on and of how I, personally, feel about console gaming: *_I am disappointed and sad._* Console gaming *_really_* was where it was at, guys. But then, when the PS3 and Xbox 360 came around, I had a good PC as well and I just found myself not giving a fuck anymore. It was the first online gaming experience I ever had (I had the PS2 slim with the ethernet port- I had dial up at the time, so I ran my PS1 into my computer, "allow other computers to access this computers network", restart Windows 2000, boot u the AOL browser and connect the modem to the world wide web, then BAM :) Playing online.
Dude, Joe... have you seriously never played a PS3 Naughty Dog game? As a gamer, you're doing yourself a massive injustice by not playing Uncharted 2 or The Last Of Us. Uncharted 2 is the best third person shooter campaign I've ever played and The Last Of Us is BY FAR the best survival horror game of all time. They're complete masterpieces and all gamers, no matter which console you like, should get to experience them... I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog does with Uncharted 4. They're simply the very best developers in gaming right now. They're on a whole nother level...
Uncharted 2 has surely not the best Third Person Shooter campaign and The Last of Us isn't the best Survival Horror either. It's not even Survival-Horror.
I know Naughty Dog are good developers, I have played some PS3 games because they guy that used to be my neighbor had one. And to be honest, don't hate me for this, but Uncharted never really got into me, i didn't enjoyed it as much as I was thinking I was going to, and I ended up not liking the franchise. I was fearing a little with The Last Of Us but it was a great game at the end, good plot and Naughty Dog knew how to deliver the history, really smooth gameplay, really enjoyed that game.
I love my PS4. Yes. Big fan. But Xbox is just as cool though. Before back in the PS3 days, I would say PS3 was better than 360 cause online was free. But, now that they're both premium features, I'd say they're both equal. Only little KIDS talk shyt and fight about which one is "BETTER".

Killzone 1-3 were better, but the visuals were stunning on Shadowfall. At least the Owl bot wasn't bad like DinkleBot. Lol. I bought my PS4 for Shadowfall and Infamous and don't regret it for a second. Although the singleplayer for Shadowfall killed some of my hopes and dreams. At least Shadowfall is better then Titanfall, :P

Bazooka Moose I did play Titanfall. And honestly I enjoyed it, it felt a little short and considering it had next to no story it wasn't all that great. I don't trust most reviewers scores, I enjoy watching reviewers so I can complain about their review just like everyone else. :P

agreed joe nailed it, i loved killzone 2 and 3 was good too, but killzone 2 was the best in the franchise! shadow fall is just so monotonous and boring, the levels have no flow, their is no motivation for the player to complete the missions, the story is not fleshed out at all. Such shame to, the main character is so forgetful and generic, even to this day when i replay killzone 2 all the missions, the ai, the set pieces, the graphics, the characters, rico, garza etc all were great! EVERYTHING was pretty much awesome, killzone shadow fall is so rushed, and its plain to see! i like joe for keeping it real

I actually gota agree with Joe. This game felt like a giant tech demo, amazing graphics, action, FX...but thats it. The KillZone lore is quite interesting, but this game falls a bit flat. The only thing story driven in the game that i like is that now, we see the bad side of the Vektans.

We need a plot where you are literally not a hero, but someone who does shit his own way, and only wants the world to like him/her and has plenty to do besides shoot like jump fancy on walls, uses everyday objects to build himself an arsenal, or simply has a point of just making his own big aim of turning the world into his playground. I figured, it IS possible to be a cool character that doesn't need weapons, but can use the wits of imagination. And you can choose to pick your own home town to feel some connection.

Joe really should play this game again. They added tons of free maps, fixed absolutely every issue he complains about, from voice chat to the falling sequences, and even made the collectible dlc free. He should give it a second look.

Horizon was boring as hell with the exception of combat against the machines, that was fun. Aloy is a bland, uninteresting protagonist, the open world is super generic and the story gets boring as soon as you leave your clan. I always end up getting bored and never managed to complete the game.

The first 2 Killzone games were the shit. It then started dropping the ball after em. Still love the later games tho. But dude, killzone 2 multiplayer was so crazy. First time I've ever seen 64 player lobbies on console multiplayer. The craziest multiplayer ive probable ever played in terms of sheer chaos. Yall Killzone fans know what i''m talkin about ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Those were the glory days. You would have absolutely loved it Joe; You and the angry army.
Killzone 2 is still the best game. Killzone 3 went too far down the COD path, and Shadowfall just took it further, with the shitty production quality to match.

But everything I see from this game can be done/has been done on mid-range PCs already. I mean, this does not look much better than Crysis 3 on settings between medium-high, something that can easily run on a $500-$600 PC ...

I'm a PC loyalist myself, but I'm actually pretty happy that the next gen of consoles is finally coming. That means we (hopefully) get better looking PC versions of games in the future - that extremely long console cycle was really holding PC gaming back in that department.

Wow there are a lot of console wars. Am I the only one to have both a playstation and an xbox and just not really notice a difference? Maybe if you're really picky, but there's really no earth shattering problem with either machine. And I've never really tired PC gaming, but personally I don't like the idea of sitting a foot from the screen all day.
ouch. i was having high hopes for better reviews for this game but oh well. at least you were honest and explained all the goods and bads of the game. i played the only the multiplayer and i actually enjoyed it. i was so damn shocked at how smooth it was for a killzone game. im kinda glad they took out the aim assist as i never used it and the PC crowd always complains about it, but it would have been better to leave in the option to turn it off. lets hope future games are much more fun. i have a lot of faith this gen will really pick up next year.

The fact that anyone expects better from Killzone 4 in this tide of modern shooters is foolish. It was a launch title, and it's a modern shooter. Two massive red, and white, flags there.
Actually, the criticism Joe has of this game and it's endless padding seem to be a trend among most recent games - especially in franchises. Seems to me a lot of these franchises are starting to run out of ideas and inspiration and just seem to go through the motions. And speaking of new consoles - just because they may be superior does not mean better games. The industry - especially triple a titles - seem less and less inclined to do something unique or stand out too much from the crowd, so I'm actually not surprised to see the same thing happen on the new consoles, which is a shame.
Developer's will continue to make less than inspiring games because they know that people will still buy them. Back in the day, I rarely saw games make it as a trilogy. Now, we have Halo 5, Battlefield 4, CoD 10 (Ghosts). Seriously, it's getting pathetic. Some games just need to end instead of having sequel after sequel after sequel. But from a business perspective, the developers know that they have a large population of people that would buy the game simply because of the name Halo, Battlefield, or CoD and continue to make games with less and less effort. Why should they try their hardest to impress us when we're going to buy it anyways?

GG has been going downhill. Killzone 2 was amazing, but 3 was only decent. Shadow Fall is boring. Worth a rent maybe. GG is really starting to scare me. Seems like they lost their touch. Cambridge made a better Killzone and they were limited to the Vita(the irony haha). Wouldn't say it's bad, but it's nothing special. Disappointed

Killzone in my opinion was better than halo, sad to see it died out right before I started playing. The multiplayer is fun as heck and it’s still fairly active to this day, meanwhile the campaign was meh but the gameplay of it was good to the point I really want an open world killzone kind of like halo and horizon. Currently my score for shadow fall is 9.5, for killzone 2 I rate it an 10, while with 3 I rate it also a 10
I just want PS4 to succeed. I still don't trust Xbox after the events of the Xbox One where it would have wrecked the economy. Merely because Xbox was willing to do that, I cannot trust them as a company, let alone Xbox One seems to have had a few fail titles already such as Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare and that one Rome game everyone literally forgot about when the commercials stopped. Titanfall had genius tactics and designs but plotwise...ehh...
I did not really are about them, and now I realize who shitastic their company is, though it was the division itself and people working for that that desired to do the big Xbox One thing. Where they would cut out the middle man and force you to buy their games online, in which, because they have outsourced pretty much every tiniest of thing, all of that money Americans put into Xbox, leaves America.

As a PS4 owner and Sony fan I am quite pleased with his 6/10 score. It was fair, balanced, and unbiased. Good review. Not one of their best launches with this generation but definitely smoother than the PS2 launch. I can't wait until he gets his hands on iNfamous: Second Son.
Seems fair to me. Killzone has never been the most amazing series so I wasn't expecting too much. I'm not expecting much from either console until mid to late 2014

I think what went wrong here is that the folks at Guerrilla Games felt it was necessary to rush the game to catch up with the PS4's release. I have yet to play it yet, though other reviewers have basically said the same thing, single player is meh, multiplayer is good.
Horrible I honestly can’t believe this was a killzone game all other 3 were mainly about the battlefield war but in this it felt more stealth gameplay and it was just terrible The multiplayer was a huge no Killzone had a progression towards weapons and classes but this straight from the get go all but one class specific weapon for 3 CLASSES which you have to get from supply packs or whatever with a chance for it and when the Insurgent showed up I thought okay the infiltrator is back I guess but no I was Completely wrong Honestly its like they thought making it look amazing in graphics would make up for all this crap
It's likely because I lived through the original Console Wars, but I don't see things in such a polarizing way - I love that each system has it's all-stars and seeing another exclusive just means I have an additional reason to pick up the console....eventually, Bloodborne is still at the top of my must-play 😔
Kinda sucks how he based this review so much on the campaign. :/ This is a multiplayer based game. It has so much depth to it and it's the core of this game, just like battlefield. Not the singleplayer
The Campaign is the reason they make the game in the first place and the online should be the same engine just player on player which is kinda obvious in first person shooters how it will turn out. He should review the campaign as thats the core reason the developers make it, Multiplayer is important but not the be all and end all for everyone. Other wise they wouldn't bother with a campaign at all would they! Plus he gave both a mention anyways, so how does that suck.
Your mixing Killzone with other FPS games... It has always been Single player first (similar to classic FPS games) and the Multiplayer was just another awesome layer.
Happy that you'll be reviewing PS4 games too... but you did skip a whole lot of bitching good games on the PS3 that deserve your attention. A pity that you didn't review those!
Joe, I feel that you would of got a much better impression of the Killzone series if you had started with Killzone 2. When Killzone 2 was released on the PS3, it was mind-blowing with its awesome graphics, "heavy" gameplay, and a fantastic multiplayer that's still great today, even with bots. Granted, Killzone: Shadow Fall wasn't really bad, but Killzone 2 is a much better game to start with if you're newcomer to the series, including a better campaign.
I don't know, all FPS plays the same to me really with some slight variation. I got sick of that genre quite a long while ago. Not to mention I like games that make me think, not just testing how twitchy I am.
A perfect example that graphics DOES NOT make the game. I want Sony to do well this gen because they're actually trying to cater to gamers, but this boring launch title was not a good start.

The NexGen console are currently in the tech demo phase, where almost every first party game looks great but seriously lacks in gameplay and story. when 2014 hits that's when the "good games" start coming out and when they do then I will criticize Sony and Microsoft games.

Bloody Roar Well when you use mouse your view is mapped to the table surface and you know if you move your hand to the upper right corner 3 inches you gonna be looking up 70-90 degrees and right 30-45 degrees. When using thumb stick you need to know when to stop. With mouse you are limited to the length of your arm or mobility of your wrist lol. Idk it is just more intuitive to me.

If all these CoD clones go the way of Guitar Hero games, I would be gladder for dev time not being wasted on them -_- They really should have called FPS something else, like Modern Military Shooter, because it just gets confusing to bundle it with Classic FPS, which itself is a dead genre. So if they were actually both dead, I guess you'd be in the same boat as the old guard to complain about it. Also, launch games always suck. Always. There's been, like, 2 or 3 launch games throughout history that haven't sucked.
Yo Joe ! Much appreciation for your extensive review on Killzone. Makes me glad I gave it a pass. I DID pickup the co-op mode KILLZONE SHADOWFALL INTERCEPT, which I DO enjoy playing with a few friends. I think that mode is fun on it's own and deserves a review. It may not be as badass as Mass Effect Multi-player mode, or Destiny's multiplayer modes, but it is still fun and has far fewer of those awful moments and problems you describe in the single player game. Yes the Helghast still shoot too accurately, but at least cover works.

I actually bought Star Wars Battlefront on the PC and like it a lot. I never play BF4 on the PC, it gets me bored right away. Star Wars already felt like an evolution of Battlefield with the cool laser effects trough the forest, crazy sound effect, crazy graphics and the gameplay isnt bad.
It sadly lacks content, but since the game is different to everything you play, it will be fun and good for when you are tired of the regular MP games like Battlefield, COD...

Poorly placed checkpoints are my #1 pet peeve. I can't stand it when brand new games put a check point BEFORE a cutscene. Forcing you to watch it over and over again before you even get to play!

I wasn't ever referring to difficulty. Simply that developers should be smart enough to setup a checkpoint after the cutscene rather than immediately before. It makes no sense at all. It doesn't add or subtract difficulty, it just forces the player to skip the cutscene each time (or watch it if they can't skip it).

No Joe, as a hardcore Killzone fan this is not what pleases me. Shadow Fall was such a disappointment for me. The gameplay felt awkward because Sony wanted to show off all of the new features. The story made no fucking sense at all. It was like how the ending of Mass Effect 3 made no sense but Guerrilla made it an entire fucking game.

-You can only fire two shots from the LSR44 railgun form

-You should be able to choose what side you want to choose in campaign
-1 inch drops kills you instantly
-OWL's gun cant kill sh't
-Need more gun customization

I really do sometimes feel ashamed to be a gamer ... all these assholes putting a bad name for us; "Oh, Playstation is better than Xbox!", "Xbox is better than Playstation!", "PC master race you peasants!". It's painful to watch/read. I support competition, but this is pure dick behaviour. And as a PC gamer, I'm disgusted to see my fellow PC friends behaving just as bad as all the rest.

I am in a maybe sorta different camp than most people because I am a PC gamer who desperately *_WANTS_* to love consoles, but just can't.
See - I *_was_* a console gamer. It's all I had, all I needed, all I wanted.
But look what happened to me...
I started with the NES and Genesis. Then I had an N64 and Gamecube, and then my glorious PS2 time...
... and then I bought a PS3. And then I got a good PC... and - well... I am not lying: *_I FORGOT I still had my PS3. I honestly forgot until I noticed it while cleaning up, all dusty on a shelf, and I sold it._*
See what happened there? I think it speaks volumes of what is going on and of how I, personally, feel about console gaming: *_I am disappointed and sad._*

But then, when the PS3 and Xbox 360 came around, I had a good PC as well and I just found myself not giving a fuck anymore. I had my PC and I had my PS3, but without even noticing it I started only using my PC.

It was the first online gaming experience I ever had (I had the PS2 slim with the ethernet port- I had dial up at the time, so I ran my PS1 into my computer, "allow other computers to access this computers network", restart Windows 2000, boot u the AOL browser and connect the modem to the world wide web, then BAM :) Playing online.

Dude, Joe... have you seriously never played a PS3 Naughty Dog game? As a gamer, you're doing yourself a massive injustice by not playing Uncharted 2 or The Last Of Us. Uncharted 2 is the best third person shooter campaign I've ever played and The Last Of Us is BY FAR the best survival horror game of all time. They're complete masterpieces and all gamers, no matter which console you like, should get to experience them...
I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog does with Uncharted 4. They're simply the very best developers in gaming right now. They're on a whole nother level...

i've tried uncharted, and hated it. too linear and never really does anything to keep me interested, but hey that's just my opinion.
I know Naughty Dog are good developers, I have played some PS3 games because they guy that used to be my neighbor had one. And to be honest, don't hate me for this, but Uncharted never really got into me, i didn't enjoyed it as much as I was thinking I was going to, and I ended up not liking the franchise. I was fearing a little with The Last Of Us but it was a great game at the end, good plot and Naughty Dog knew how to deliver the history, really smooth gameplay, really enjoyed that game.
I love my PS4. Yes. Big fan. But Xbox is just as cool though. Before back in the PS3 days, I would say PS3 was better than 360 cause online was free. But, now that they're both premium features, I'd say they're both equal. Only little KIDS talk shyt and fight about which one is "BETTER".

Killzone 1-3 were better, but the visuals were stunning on Shadowfall. At least the Owl bot wasn't bad like DinkleBot. Lol.
I bought my PS4 for Shadowfall and Infamous and don't regret it for a second. Although the singleplayer for Shadowfall killed some of my hopes and dreams. At least Shadowfall is better then Titanfall, :P

Bazooka Moose I did play Titanfall. And honestly I enjoyed it, it felt a little short and considering it had next to no story it wasn't all that great. I don't trust most reviewers scores, I enjoy watching reviewers so I can complain about their review just like everyone else. :P

agreed joe nailed it, i loved killzone 2 and 3 was good too, but killzone 2 was the best in the franchise! shadow fall is just so monotonous and boring, the levels have no flow, their is no motivation for the player to complete the missions, the story is not fleshed out at all. Such shame to, the main character is so forgetful and generic, even to this day when i replay killzone 2 all the missions, the ai, the set pieces, the graphics, the characters, rico, garza etc all were great! EVERYTHING was pretty much awesome, killzone shadow fall is so rushed, and its plain to see! i like joe for keeping it real

I actually gota agree with Joe. This game felt like a giant tech demo, amazing graphics, action, FX...but thats it. The KillZone lore is quite interesting, but this game falls a bit flat. The only thing story driven in the game that i like is that now, we see the bad side of the Vektans.

We need a plot where you are literally not a hero, but someone who does shit his own way, and only wants the world to like him/her and has plenty to do besides shoot like jump fancy on walls, uses everyday objects to build himself an arsenal, or simply has a point of just making his own big aim of turning the world into his playground. I figured, it IS possible to be a cool character that doesn't need weapons, but can use the wits of imagination. And you can choose to pick your own home town to feel some connection.

Horizon was boring as hell with the exception of combat against the machines, that was fun. Aloy is a bland, uninteresting protagonist, the open world is super generic and the story gets boring as soon as you leave your clan. I always end up getting bored and never managed to complete the game.

I'm a PC loyalist myself, but I'm actually pretty happy that the next gen of consoles is finally coming. That means we (hopefully) get better looking PC versions of games in the future - that extremely long console cycle was really holding PC gaming back in that department.
Most people who disliked this video probably already bought the game. It must hurts to hear someone bash the shit out of something they spent $60 on.
I was disappointed with this game and agree with your review completely. Killzone 2 and 3 were much better games than Shadow Fall. Hopefully, they make Killzone 4 much better than this shit. Love your show, Joe! Keep up this awesome series and work!

Wow there are a lot of console wars. Am I the only one to have both a playstation and an xbox and just not really notice a difference? Maybe if you're really picky, but there's really no earth shattering problem with either machine. And I've never really tired PC gaming, but personally I don't like the idea of sitting a foot from the screen all day.

ouch. i was having high hopes for better reviews for this game but oh well. at least you were honest and explained all the goods and bads of the game. i played the only the multiplayer and i actually enjoyed it. i was so damn shocked at how smooth it was for a killzone game. im kinda glad they took out the aim assist as i never used it and the PC crowd always complains about it, but it would have been better to leave in the option to turn it off. lets hope future games are much more fun. i have a lot of faith this gen will really pick up next year.

Actually, the criticism Joe has of this game and it's endless padding seem to be a trend among most recent games - especially in franchises. Seems to me a lot of these franchises are starting to run out of ideas and inspiration and just seem to go through the motions.
And speaking of new consoles - just because they may be superior does not mean better games. The industry - especially triple a titles - seem less and less inclined to do something unique or stand out too much from the crowd, so I'm actually not surprised to see the same thing happen on the new consoles, which is a shame.
Developer's will continue to make less than inspiring games because they know that people will still buy them. Back in the day, I rarely saw games make it as a trilogy. Now, we have Halo 5, Battlefield 4, CoD 10 (Ghosts). Seriously, it's getting pathetic. Some games just need to end instead of having sequel after sequel after sequel. But from a business perspective, the developers know that they have a large population of people that would buy the game simply because of the name Halo, Battlefield, or CoD and continue to make games with less and less effort. Why should they try their hardest to impress us when we're going to buy it anyways?

GG has been going downhill. Killzone 2 was amazing, but 3 was only decent. Shadow Fall is boring. Worth a rent maybe. GG is really starting to scare me. Seems like they lost their touch. Cambridge made a better Killzone and they were limited to the Vita(the irony haha). Wouldn't say it's bad, but it's nothing special. Disappointed

Killzone in my opinion was better than halo, sad to see it died out right before I started playing. The multiplayer is fun as heck and it’s still fairly active to this day, meanwhile the campaign was meh but the gameplay of it was good to the point I really want an open world killzone kind of like halo and horizon. Currently my score for shadow fall is 9.5, for killzone 2 I rate it an 10, while with 3 I rate it also a 10

I just want PS4 to succeed. I still don't trust Xbox after the events of the Xbox One where it would have wrecked the economy. Merely because Xbox was willing to do that, I cannot trust them as a company, let alone Xbox One seems to have had a few fail titles already such as Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare and that one Rome game everyone literally forgot about when the commercials stopped. Titanfall had genius tactics and designs but plotwise...ehh...

As a PS4 owner and Sony fan I am quite pleased with his 6/10 score. It was fair, balanced, and unbiased. Good review. Not one of their best launches with this generation but definitely smoother than the PS2 launch. I can't wait until he gets his hands on iNfamous: Second Son.
Seems fair to me. Killzone has never been the most amazing series so I wasn't expecting too much. I'm not expecting much from either console until mid to late 2014

I applaud your honesty, Joe. Nice to see you applying the same ethics to PS4 reviews that you did to PC and 360 ones. Not that I thought you would be any different, mind you.
I think what went wrong here is that the folks at Guerrilla Games felt it was necessary to rush the game to catch up with the PS4's release. I have yet to play it yet, though other reviewers have basically said the same thing, single player is meh, multiplayer is good.
Horrible I honestly can’t believe this was a killzone game all other 3 were mainly about the battlefield war but in this it felt more stealth gameplay and it was just terrible
The multiplayer was a huge no Killzone had a progression towards weapons and classes but this straight from the get go all but one class specific weapon for 3 CLASSES which you have to get from supply packs or whatever with a chance for it and when the Insurgent showed up I thought okay the infiltrator is back I guess but no I was Completely wrong

It's likely because I lived through the original Console Wars, but I don't see things in such a polarizing way - I love that each system has it's all-stars and seeing another exclusive just means I have an additional reason to pick up the console....eventually, Bloodborne is still at the top of my must-play 😔
Kinda sucks how he based this review so much on the campaign. :/ This is a multiplayer based game. It has so much depth to it and it's the core of this game, just like battlefield. Not the singleplayer
The core of Killzone used to be the intense and difficult single player campaign; the good multiplayer was just an additive.
The Campaign is the reason they make the game in the first place and the online should be the same engine just player on player which is kinda obvious in first person shooters how it will turn out. He should review the campaign as thats the core reason the developers make it, Multiplayer is important but not the be all and end all for everyone. Other wise they wouldn't bother with a campaign at all would they! Plus he gave both a mention anyways, so how does that suck.
+FloMaxster their are other fps with great campaigns and multiplayer for ex. cod4, battlefield bad company, halo reach etc. this game is no exception.
Your mixing Killzone with other FPS games... It has always been Single player first (similar to classic FPS games) and the Multiplayer was just another awesome layer.
Happy that you'll be reviewing PS4 games too... but you did skip a whole lot of bitching good games on the PS3 that deserve your attention. A pity that you didn't review those!

Joe, I feel that you would of got a much better impression of the Killzone series if you had started with Killzone 2. When Killzone 2 was released on the PS3, it was mind-blowing with its awesome graphics, "heavy" gameplay, and a fantastic multiplayer that's still great today, even with bots. Granted, Killzone: Shadow Fall wasn't really bad, but Killzone 2 is a much better game to start with if you're newcomer to the series, including a better campaign.

I don't know, all FPS plays the same to me really with some slight variation. I got sick of that genre quite a long while ago.
Not to mention I like games that make me think, not just testing how twitchy I am.

A perfect example that graphics DOES NOT make the game. I want Sony to do well this gen because they're actually trying to cater to gamers, but this boring launch title was not a good start.

The NexGen console are currently in the tech demo phase, where almost every first party game looks great but seriously lacks in gameplay and story. when 2014 hits that's when the "good games" start coming out and when they do then I will criticize Sony and Microsoft games.

I'm getting my PS4 sometime next year and I really couldn't care less about Killzone. FPS on ANY console? Hell no. I can't play an FPS with a controller after using mouse and keyboard. Feels so nasty and unnatural... and not in a good way either. O_o
It depends if you can get used to it, for example, I've been on PS3 so long that mouse and keyboard feel awkward for me.

Bloody Roar Well when you use mouse your view is mapped to the table surface and you know if you move your hand to the upper right corner 3 inches you gonna be looking up 70-90 degrees and right 30-45 degrees. When using thumb stick you need to know when to stop. With mouse you are limited to the length of your arm or mobility of your wrist lol. Idk it is just more intuitive to me.

I'd be fine if that were actually true, I think humanity's had its fill of FPS this last generation. If all these CoD clones go the way of Guitar Hero games, I would be gladder for dev time not being wasted on them -_-
They really should have called FPS something else, like Modern Military Shooter, because it just gets confusing to bundle it with Classic FPS, which itself is a dead genre. So if they were actually both dead, I guess you'd be in the same boat as the old guard to complain about it.
Also, launch games always suck. Always. There's been, like, 2 or 3 launch games throughout history that haven't sucked.

Yo Joe ! Much appreciation for your extensive review on Killzone. Makes me glad I gave it a pass. I DID pickup the co-op mode KILLZONE SHADOWFALL INTERCEPT, which I DO enjoy playing with a few friends. I think that mode is fun on it's own and deserves a review. It may not be as badass as Mass Effect Multi-player mode, or Destiny's multiplayer modes, but it is still fun and has far fewer of those awful moments and problems you describe in the single player game. Yes the Helghast still shoot too accurately, but at least cover works.
