    Dude your advice on adjusting fan speeds and wattage literally dropped my GPUs temps from 90* to 73-77* (mostly hovers at 75*) playing Warzone. Your video and your knowledge earned you a subscriber. I’m writing a review on Best Buy for this pc and I’m suggesting people watch your video if they buy this lap top.

    If you want to get the most out of the speakers in this machine, when coupled with THX Spatial Audio, it is absolutely insane, idk the exact decible, but louder than dynamic boost in dolby, and the spatial audio is sickeningly intuitive considering the sound is coming from just two speakers. Better sound than 99% of the laptops ive ever used, no joke.

    what I love most about this laptop is that whenever you need to pack a punch for gaming, this device will cut it; but on the other hand, if you just wanna go about your day creating spreadsheets, presentations, taking notes, watching TH-cam on the go, this laptop will definitely power up to last for about some good 6 plus hours (which in on itself is impressive for such a hungry processor). I was deliberating if getting a Macbook Pro M1 or this Zephyrus and so far I'm more delighted by the Zephyrus, because M1s are still settling their position on the laptop realm, specially with the lack of compatibility with most x86 programs.

      @@aliceweiss6711 lemme say this, you can easily turn off the cpu boost so it runs at 3.3 ghz and it doesnt pass 75 c and on top of that it runs games with little to no fps drops as most games performance are reliant on the gpu. That being said in cpu intensive task you can turn on boost and ive found if you find a way to elevate the laptop a inch or two off a surface it will not exceed 88 degrees in temp rlly and averages 85 which is perfectly fine. Also you can turn on manual mode and set a custom fan curve to drop temps further. Or undervolt the cpu to run at 3.8-4ghz so your still getting increased cpu performance but running a lot cooler. Thats just if you wanted to run the boost which like i said you do not need its plenty powerful . I could get a different laptop but i love the g14, its nice and small, fits anywhere , good screen and features and can be turned into a full blown out setup with the right peripherals and monitor. Absolutely love it , best pc ive owned laptop or desktop.

    After watching this review and couple others I went ahead and finally got one on sale for a total of $2100 CAD-AMDRyzen9 5900hs/FHD 144hz GeForceRTX3060 with ROG boost. It was finally restocked and on sale for $1895 and I needed a new laptop immediately for my program at school and to replace my PS4 because both are incredibly slow. I come from a Intel HD 620 GPU and intel i5 7200u ACER Aspire E15 for like $800 a few years ago. So this new laptop was something that was a huge step for me, therefore I wanted to make sure I did all the research and comparisons with all specs and features of equivalent models. This laptop replaced my laptop and my PS4 since I didn’t want to spend $$$ on a PS5 with a $$$ compatible monitor along with a PC $$$ for school as well. This laptop is the one if you’re in a position similar to mine. They said “light/casual gaming” but you can really push this baby and it won’t even complain, it actually likes it if that makes sense. The graphics with the RTX 3060 and multiple applications running on just performance mode is still exceptional for games like rocket league and fifa. When I really feel like I should then I just turn off background applications or use the turbo mode for a bit if there are any issues which are rare. All in all it’s only been a few days so I can’t say how long this awesomeness will last but 3 days in and it’s already 1000x better than my old laptop and PS4. The ONLY complaint I have with this laptop is the neglected wired Ethernet connection, but there are simple work arounds for that on google if you really need to, I’m still using my 2.4g WIFI with 250mbps and I rarely lag anyway. Hopefully this will be my long term device until I can build a PC too. Oh and I got the grey one it looks and feels amazing. it’s a simple laptop sitting there and but under its hood is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

  • @Arcrinato
    @Arcrinato 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I know it's been a while since this laptop was new but thank you so much for the tip to reduce the power limit. The thermal throttling was insane. Playing games like Helldivers 2 and Darktide it would dip around 20FPS with almost everything on low but still be in the high 90's for temps. Now after limiting the wattage I can actually play stuff at a usable framerate with the graphical settings looking pretty good. And, at idle/non-gaming, it stays at much more reasonable temps with quieter fans, and in general the chassis doesn't get as uncomfortably hot. Plus I would think this helps save battery life too. Really goofy how Asus just let the wattage go crazy but it actually can preform worse for it. I always wondered why it would hover in the high 90's for temps but some games would still have issues, but now after doing that wattage limit it's great. Again, thanks a ton.

    Great review! I had the 1440P version and it was freakin' awesome but the pixel density was too much for my eyes so I ended up sending it back and ordered the 1080P version instead. One thing that I would like to note is that if you disable the GPU (iGPU mode?) this laptop is crazy! In fact, I was able to play quite a few games quite well on the internal GPU easy. I gotta say, sending that thing back was extremely difficult as I think the screen was better (bright and I didn't notice any ghosting). • @usafballer79

    I've had this laptop for a few months - my testing lines up 100% with yours. Same thermals - I'm not really a fan of (pun??) of manual mode as fiddling gets tiresome and Turbo mode seems to work better or get close enough. I generally run in performance mode! I've recently been playing Metro Exodus Enhanced (just released) - can drive both internal and an external QHD monitor with RT Ultra, Graphics High, DLSS and get largely or almost entirely above 60FPS no problems. This is wildly impressive to drive one of the latest and most demanding RTX enabled games on a QHD monitor. Of course some games are more demanding, like Cyberpunk - but I just think Cyberpunk is not all that impressive a graphics engine in terms of efficiency. Cyberpunk can still do 50FPS at FHD with RTX on (optimized settings from Hardware Unboxed).

    Thanks for the great review with coverage for all aspects and mentioning all the small details and tweaks. I must say, your reviews contain huge amounts details and analysis than most of other reviews. One Request, will it be possible to test a small set of GPU bound games in Turbo mode to see how much extra performance it can provide since that allows the higher GPU power boost? Also, is it possible to tweak the Turbo mode to restrict CPU wattage to 35W or that's just possible in Manual mode?
