    Im a 32° Scottish Rite Mason in Illinois. Thanks for making this. It was respectful to the craft. You should get in touch with your local lodge and follow in your Grandfather's footsteps. He would be immensely proud of you.

      @@citadelblu637 how would she know if any degree in any of the appendage bodies are worth getting unless she has received them at last check there's only a very very small amount of Masonic lodges allow women in the fraternity and even less on women being in the appendage bodies the Masonic aspect that is primarily for the women is the eastern star which they must be either be married to or the daughter of or a female family member of some sort to a Mason

    What a fantastic video. I journeyed to the Cathedral from Detroit in 2022, also to honor my grandfather. I also paid a visit to the Grand Lodge (across the street) and was able to get a copy of not only his Masonic record, but I found out HIS father was a Mason as well. Several months later, I found another generation of Masons in Indiana.
    The trip to the Scottish Rite Cathedral was powerful for me; and seems it was for you, too. Perhaps one day, you’ll follow in his footsteps. I did, and I’ve never once regretted it.

      I think our culture teaches us to distrust that which we don't understand.
      We must remember, when the promise to 'keep the secrets' was founded, a man could be put to death for simply questioning the teachings of the church.
      A man could be put to death for stating he thought the earth was round if the church said it was flat.
      That's a pretty good reason to have a practice to NEVER discuss what is said inside the building with anyone that hasn't sworn an oath.
      I'm not a mason so I can't pretend to know what's discussed in their group but my gut says these men wouldn't be advertising their membership with a ring or on their tombstones in the family plot if what they did or said would in any way bring dishonor to their family or their memory

    I've heard stories that there are tunnels that lead in and out of that Cathedral. My three times great-grandfather it was an officer in the Civil War for the North has a giant marker on his gravestone of the Masonic symbol. Also my first real job when I got out of high school, I literally work for stonemasons for a period of 6 years is a hod carrier. That cathedral downtown is absolutely impressive. I would imagine they have a tunnel straight over to the Masonic headquarters not but a couple blocks over. Which itself seems to be an imposing structure. I think it would be interesting to be a part of that club

    • @AdventureswithRoger
      @AdventureswithRoger  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      There’s a ton of tunnels underneath downtown Indianapolis. I knew a lady that once worked at Wishard, and had to take a body to the morgue. She got hopelessly lost in the tunnels with a dead person, ended up half across town!
      I’ve been through the section below Riley Childrens Hospital and Indiana University School of Medicine, and also from the State Capital to the shopping area (used to be called Claypool Court). IUPUI also has tunnels, Marion County Jail too. There’s also the really old tunnel section, you enter below the farmers market. It’s called the catacombs and is pretty spooky from what people have told me.

    • @Mr._Infamous
      @Mr._Infamous ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I work down in the morgue when it was still Wishard with my uncle who did pipe insulation. They also used to do experiments on animals down there in that section as well. I saw an opening that was the main wet wall when I was down there it went all the way to the top. It was pretty spooky. Also I was born at Wishard in 1981. I haven't got to Traverse any of the tunnels but I had heard about a bunch of them. I'd say it's probably like that in every major city in the United States for the most part. I literally stood right outside the doors of that morgue but didn't get to go inside. Now I don't know if that area is even there anymore. That was probably a spooky time for that lady they got lost halfway across town with a dead body

Lost contact with the neighbor that was trying to get me in and never heard anything else about it ? 🤷

    I enjoyed the video Roger. My father and I are not Masons, but a few of my distant ancestors were. I am not a big fan of oath bound societies with secret rituals, but I was amazed at the architecture of the Scottish Rite temple. When doing genealogy I discovered that my 1st great grandfather Pierce -or an older cousin of his with the same first name- was both a Mason and an Oddfellow, and once represented the (no longer existent) West Baden Oddfellows at a statewide convention. Keep the videos coming.

    That leather bound book should have been returned to the lodge upon death. There should be a line or 2 on the inner firs or second pages about that. His gold 14 degree ring goes back as well. At least thats how its supposed to be in our jurisdiction. Good video though. Well shot. Well thought out. Good stories.

    I’ve always been a fan of the history and the architecture of the Free Masons. Went to the Masonic Theatre in Detroit for a band called “Sleep Token”, and I’ve never felt such an ominous feeling. Constantly delivering food to the temple here in Fort Wayne and I get a similar feeling. This is an amazing video Roger! I was really close to my grandpa, him and my grandma took care of me. So this video was just all around heart warming but mysterious at the same time. Loved it!

      Some places definitely have presence. People have a wide range of sensitivity to these places, from feeling nothing at all, a sense that something is off, to getting succinct impressions. A friend of mine is an empath, picks up all kinds of things, from feeling the history, to getting contacted. That’s a gift I wouldn’t want.
      I’m hoping to do another unusual place in early January, after I wrap up the current huge project.

      My friends son and grand daughter have it, but will immediately walk out of a building, if they sense anything. They want no part of it. It’s a blessing or a curse.
      I’ve taken my empath friend to places I felt were “off”, to get their impression. The strangest was a deserted park at Dana, Indiana. As soon as we got there, my friend got out of the car, looked around and said, “This is not a good place. Someone was killed here. My ears are ringing like crazy! We should leave.” Unknown to my friend, my ears were also ringing. We got out of there, and our ears rang for several hours afterward.

    When I first realized there was something dark about my dad, who I only met a few times in life, I began a shallow journey , off and on, about the Freemasons. I was told he was a Shriner..never thought much about anything with my dad until he showed me his Rolls Royce with 666 on the license plate. I was still technically a Catholic ( a cult as far as I'm concered) but even not knowing Jesus or the Bible until years later, I knew that was a dark clue about where he was in life. As I watch this video, I realized that if my own parent is crony of the devil, I need to stay as close to Jesus as I can. Where I am at right now us close Mirmon country. My studies of Mormonism, enlightened me about the connection, rituals and symbols that interconnect, Mormons with Freemason. We won't even talk about Bohemian Grove..its a scary world out there. I'm glad I have Jesus as my Lord and Savior...........

    • @AdventureswithRoger
      @AdventureswithRoger  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Many texts reference Joseph Smiths inclusion of Masonic style rituals in Mormonism. I really haven’t went very deep in studying that area.
      What I do know is that my Father studied Masonry out of intellectual curiosity. After doing so, he neither joined or wanted us to. He was convinced that rituals threatening violent murder, were completely against Bible teachings.

    • @manicmurph

      The Shriners are the perverted ones. The fact that he put 666 on his license plate is crazy. There's a video on TH-cam if an old Shriner saying that he is Lucifer and he's pure and virtuous. You can see the darkness and evil in him. Why do they need to take oaths, do rituals and they ask you to do it on your own free will? Lots of masons end up praying to Jesus cause they know the bad they've done. They are into some weird shit. Definitely into sex magick. I need to do a little more research on the Shriners but I know that one Shriner who ran a child hospital was accused of being a pedo. So there ya go. I'm sure they doing very bad things. That's why all the masons are rich, cause they sold their soul when they took these oaths. They probably don't even realize it. The higher the degrees you go, the more satanic it gets. Jesus would never make you take an oath and swear that you won't tell the secrets of they'll rip out your tongue and bowels and put you in the bottom of the ocean. Does that sound like a good thing?

    • @manicmurph
      @manicmurph ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AdventureswithRogerThe Mormons also have a lot of similarities to masonry. Pretty much all the secret societies are based off the principles of masonry. If my dad showed me a license plate and his rolls Royce I'd be asking questions. Mormons believe in having multiple wives right?

      @@AdventureswithRogerin the Degrees, those are just a part of the story reenactment for which one man unfortunately suffered.
      They are not true threats. And they must never be committed. For murder and treason are not allowed and are not bound to secrecy. Because if any member was ever to commit such heinous crimes, they would be reported to the police, and their membership revoked and kicked out of the organization.

    yea its ornate, seen actual churches though that are more ornate, but as you say some things are better left unknown, there is some stuff that is great and terrorable, and better to not be known, for all the things they do to help in masonry, some say there are very troubling rites that go on at the top and espouse beliefs antithical to Christianity, this has been stated many times by former practicing masons, they do many things though and have large influance in the usa since day 1, and do make some of the prettiest buildings, and theaters that is true, the old scottish rite in fort wayne now part of the the university of st frances is pretty nice, and one cant deny the ornateness of the murat shrine theater at the old national center, or the medina building in chicago.
