Over time, these fraternities evolved into a more speculative organization, which came to be known as Freemasonry. Today, Freemasonry is a fraternity that is open to men of good character who believe in a Supreme Being. On the other hand, The Knights Templar were a medieval Christian military order founded in the 12th century. The order was created to protect Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land. The Templars quickly grew in power and wealth, and they became one of the most powerful organizations in Europe. They were also known for their secrecy and their distinctive white mantles adorned with a red cross. The order was dissolved by Pope Clement V in the early 14th century, and many of the Templars were arrested, tortured and executed.
While Freemasonry uses the imagery and symbology of stonemasonry as a metaphor for personal development, the Knights Templar were a religious order. Some people believe that Freemasonry has its roots in the Knights Templar, but there is no evidence to support this claim. Some conspiracy theories suggest that the Templars went underground after the suppression of their order and that they became the basis of the Freemasons. But there is no historical evidence to support this claim. Furthermore, the principles and beliefs of the two organizations are vastly different. The Knights Templars were a religious order and the Freemasonry is a fraternity, with no religious connotation, but it requires its members to have a belief in a Supreme Being.

I had some older Masons who visited with me, asking me to petition to become a Mason. These were both incredible co-workers, who told me at that time, 2007, or ‘08, that they cannot just recommend a person, but that I had to do blah blah blah.

I think that the Knights Templar were attacked and executed for the simple reason that they had grown so wealthy and loaned so much money to so many powerful men, including Kings and Popes, that they were paying back huge sums of money to the Templars and Philip either just did not want to pay or could not pay, so he got rid of the Templars, it's as simple as that and the Pope, who owed them huge sums of money as well went along with Philips plan and excommunicated the Templars as heretics to justify any actions taken against the Templars, but it all came down to money, huge sums of money owed to the Templars.

There are several tidbits of information precariously left out of this video. Firstly when the French king sent his army to attack the templars, it was only a particular segment of templars that had been singled out and attacked. Not all templars came under attack. The pope who finally agreed to condemn the templars was himself a member of another Templar wing. The knights of Malta were another wing who were not attacked, they were called knights hospitalier at that time and from them we have today's Red Cross. The pope who rescinded the papal bull that protected the templars, was a bloodline descendant of a Templar family called De'blanchfort. One of the original nine knights that dug in the ruins of Solomon's temple was a De'blanchfort. So that pope's family had Templar roots. To say that all templars were attacked or eradicated is a gross misnomer. Secondly, the Templar construction in Scotland (ROSSLYN), wasn't built as a chapel, it was much later in time that it became inshrined as a chapel once Scotland fell back under Christian domination. These are important facts that should not be discounted when re-telling the story because the truth shines a bright light on real facts not suppositions and conjectures.😮

One comment I’d like to add is the lodges is southern Italy are considered to be “red” or “irregular lodges” the “blue” lodges don’t recognize them to be legit. Same story with some red lodges in Portugal and around Europe and the world

However the Eastern Orthodox Catholic rellgion was established even after the Constantinoble was sacked, and that branch of the Catholic religion was not going to fade away.

I don't know about now, BUT I went there with my British wife back in December of 2004. we took the tube to to City of London and as i remember the building came to a point on two converging streets. If you were facing the triangle created and took the left path, you came to a door with what i seem to remember was a triangular shaped window that was covered.
