    Thank you. I have toe correctors and will be wearing them as often as possible. I will also work on building the foot muscles to support my pinky toe alignment, along with all foot muscles that need strengthening which is all of them.

      Sounds like you are on the right track - just watch out for narrow footwear as well. Bunionettes and bunions hate being squashed

      @@freestylefeet2063 Thank you. I started wearing barefoot shoes and toe spacers a few months ago. My widest shoes are Whitins and Lems Primal Zens but it’s more comfortable to wear toe spacers with my Earthrunner sandals. I will definitely be wearing my toe spacers more often and my VFF as well. Also my toe expander device from Earthrunners seems to be effective for bunions. It can quickly get uncomfortable to wear but I will slowly increase my use of it, or take lots of breaks.

    I keep reading articles saying a bunionette cannot be fixed without surgery. That once the bones move like that, they are permanent and only the pain can be treated/improved. But you're saying we can "fix" it? Like the bone can go back to where it's suppose to be?

      The bony growth cannot be removed without surgery. The alignment can absolutely be changed. This is what is happening when the bunion or bunionette progresses- the bony alignment is gradually changing over time. Which then raises the question - why is this happening and what influences that change.

    The foot doctor I went to said I could have surgery for this, but that's not gonna happen. like to try these methods first.

    I have a really painful tailor's bunion come up only past year. I've been wearing wide toebox shoes for 4 years and I gave alwats been able to splay my little ties VERY far apart!? So why do I have a bunionette? I've bought one of those bunionette silicone separators with soft cover for the bunion itself

      In that situation take a look further upstream- what I mean by that is look at the ankle function and see if anything higher up may be contributing . Knees and hips?

      I have one on my left foot I used this stuff with acid in it and it went away only to comeback stronger my foot hits so much sometimes I can barley walk I don’t know what to do this interfering with my whole life

      With regular exercises and rehab, some small changes can be seen sometimes within weeks

    How long can I wear the bonion separator per day?

      We suggest starting for 20 mins/day, but building up to say 4 hrs in an ideal world. It is really as tolerated.

      You are welcome- most importantly avoid narrow shoes . They practice spreading the toes apart every day as an exercise to strengthen the abductor muscles. Wearing toe spacers will also really help- build up to 4hrs/day if you can

    Should you were the toe separators with shoes while on your feet at work?

      We have a lot of clients who use their toe spreaders inside their shoes at work, or running in them - but the footwear needs to be wide enough to accomodate them.

      Start off wearing for shorter times, they are often uncomfortable at the start - especially if there is not a lot of room and movement between the toes

    These are made in Oregon . I was sold some by the dudes brother who makes them. He says “I don’t make any money on these” and I wanted to say “yes but your brother does”
    All of this is just to avoid surgery but it doesn’t help me

    i literally cannot move my right small toe on its own and i also cant hold it when moved with the fingers. how can i train the muscle to actually start working?

      you are on the right track, keep at it - but also use some massage underneath the foot - to help loosen things up and get things moving

    Had a gruelling 10hr flight wearing air max 270s (super narrow fits) and I’ve come home and my little toe is swollen and caving inward. What should be my next steps? Do I rest it and will the swelling go down? As when I put the toe spacers on it swells it up more

      @@freestylefeet2063 as an update, my swelling has gone significantly down and I’ve been wearing toe spacers daily for about 6hours per day and it’s looking a lot better now. I even went to the gym and for a walk and no issues, but I’m going to stay on top of wearing toe spacers

      @@carlaalayon1175 yeah completely gone, I went to see an Osteopath just to double check and he said it was more irritation of the skin than a structural issue. I basically got a symptom of tailors but not because my feet were going outward but my shoes were going overly inwards and causing friction. But it has made me wear toe spacers a lot more and consider bunions more generally

    It looks like they cut off circulation. Her toes where white when he removed them. How long are these to be left on?

      Ideally 20 mins minimum, most people can tolerate them up to 2 hours without any issues.

      Have you looked at some brands like LEMS, Vivo and in running shoes - brands like Altra? They have wide , natural shaped forefoot areas that should accomodate a bunion or bunionette

      Some of our patients certainly do, but we don't usually recommend it - as you tend to wake up sore! Sleep is really important for overall health, so we really want to avoid messing it up.
