It's a long process. I first transitioned to zero drop shoes around five years ago. I began wearing "barefoot" shoes 3 years ago. I started doing some barefoot walking last year. Now I'm working on these types of exercises and treatments. I started wearing toe spreaders. My feet have improved but slowly. I still have bunions but I noticed that when I straighten the big toe on my right foot now, the bunion almost disappears.

This is quite a workout and also seems to the real deal, unlike so much bunion advice on YT. Never seen this enlightening explanation of the two key muscles involved anywhere else. Thank you.
It's helping already, after just one session. I have only a mild bunion on one foot, which might be why I noticed a change simply from the massage. I felt it - more than once - a release of the muscle, almost as if the toe was clicking back into place.

I've suffered with bunions all of my adult life, and yes it is hereditary, all the females in my family have them. I am seriously considering surgery, the pain and inflammation of the joint is horrendous and throbs like a bitch! They are so prominent now they create that shape into the shoes or boots I wear. Finding pretty summer sandals is also a nightmare for bunion sufferers, all those little strappy shoes just make the bunion stick out between them and looks so ugly. I really hate my feet because of them!

Walking barefoot 1/2 hr day or more will help your feet. A lot of the stretches he shows you feel walking on a trail barefoot. I did it a lot this weekend. My calves were tight from all the barefoot walking.
Step 2 make sure you walk with your chin in. It’s like a miracle for me. My gluteus medius tighten up. My abs tighten up.
BTW I walked barefoot on mountain trails by our campground.

As somebody who suffers with bunions, every time he pushes on her foot, I cringe! I know how bad that hurts. I have a client who recently had the bunion surgery on one foot. She said everything was great for a couple of days and then all of a sudden her foot started hurting really badly, and she had blood coming out of the tips of her toes. She went to a physio / physical therapist. He wrapped her foot in KT tape and told her when the tape falls off, it'll be better, and it was. Apparently all of the ligaments have stretched in her foot and when the surgery was completed there was nothing to hold that stretch so they finally just collapsed. I'm guessing the blood coming out of the tip of her toes was actually some sort of pink tinged interstitial fluid. It wasn't anything I had ever heard of, has anyone here?

      Hi! Thanks for watching.
You can definitely improve your pain and function. Some slow deep treatment into your sore and stuck spots followed by some exercises is a start. Walking and exercising barefoot naturally gets you in touch with pure biomechanics. Purchase some toe spacers too. It helps to spread the toes and realign the bones over time. Be patient. Things will get better 🙏

Pointed toe stilettos should be banned forever. It's what squashing the toes together pushing the bunion out. Whoever invented this shoe should be put to shame

I have known men who don’t wear high heels sporting bunions too

I've never worn a shoe higher than an inch, and I've never worn a shoe with pointy toes. But I have terrible bunions. I just don't want to have surgery. There are a lot of reasons people get bunions besides stilettos, like having wide feet in a narrow shoe world.

Had bunions all my life. Never worn high heels, never worn tight shoes.. not been able to Was in special orthopedic shoes until 15 , then told to do every single one of these exercises to prevent worsening symptoms. They take up masses of time every single day, and they didn't work. I've tried everything imaginable I've seen to deal with them , seen countless doctors, been prescribed different kids of insoles (one lot gave me stress fractures in my little toes) , different exercises , but was always told I didnt need surgery. I am now well into my 70s and can barely walk. My big toes go across my 2nd and 3rd toes at an angle of almost 90°, I have hammer toes and twisted S shaped toes where they've been pushed out of place by my big toes. Arthritis kicked in during my 40s and the joints are mostly fixed now...I have VERY little mobility in my toes, you couldn't move them like this girls. And it is so painful to walk....not the bunions themselves, they have never been painful, but the rest of my feet. I gave up on the exercises after I had my youngest daughter at 35. They had done nothing to help, but made my feet incredibly sore for hours afterwards....... I hope it works for her though.
