I just got this a few weeks ago and love it! I have the 9 tray timer excalibur as well and its amazing but this one takes less space and Love the option to do two different times and temps.

Yes we think this dehydrator is a good solution when space is an issue and the dual zone is a nice feature.

My excalibur is coming today! I want to be able to dry herbs in it, but you don't show what the programing is for the herbs (just the infused oil). What is the programming for the herbs? Thank you!

It depends on the moisture content of the herb and the air humidity of your room or region. Usually we use 35C for lower moisture herbs and 40C for higher moisture herbs. We start with 4 hours for things like mint leaves and sometimes go up to 24 hours for roots. Just check it every few hours.

Hello. You can see it here (www.sana-store.com/excalibur-food-dehydrator-exc10el) for pricing - the price will vary depending on the country. The trays are 11.4 x 14 inches. This dehydrator isn't very loud - it is a lot quieter than the standard 5-tray box-style Excalibur we have at home. I hope that helps :-)

This appears to have the perfect temperature setting i need for making tempeh
    My concern is the fan
Can i turn the fans off or dial them real low?
Too much fan airflow will ruin tempeh
    Cheers

Hello. Unfortunately only time and temperature can be controlled. The fan is always on. Our tempeh fan likes to use the Sana Breadmaker for tempeh. th-cam.com/video/2R7HYI47yqk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mmivJ03KOMcABbwI

Is there a plastic casing on this dehydrator or is the whole thing stainless steel or aluminum?

The body and trays are plastic.
