    Recently we were gifted the Excaliber RES10 from my bonus mom. My dad & his wife Allie were able to come & see our homestead for their first visit and see firsthand what we are doing and they expressed how proud they are of us and wanted to gift us something of use. We are just happy to have tools that help us work smarter!

      Thank you! It really was, I'm so grateful. This has eased some questions about what I'll be doing with some of the harvest. Do you use a dehydrator? If so, what things do you use it for?

    We love our dehydrator. I use it mostly for my own peppers, We then crush them into pepper flakes. We haven't bought any in years and you can make a mild, medium and hot blend. We also use it for basil :)

      I absolutely love that idea! Previously I've naturally dried my cayenne peppers and grind them but I am inspired to make my own blends of spices from our garden and that's part of the vision I've had. We appreciate you, stay blessed! 💕-Mrs. NG

      I recently learned I can dehydrate my sourdough start using it. It will be fun experimenting.

      I've wanted to try that too. Our move affected our success with ginger this year, hopefully next year we will have an abundant ginger harvest so I can use some for that. 😊 Stay blessed!

    We just bought an Excalibur dehydrator last year. I mainly use ours for drying herbs and my husband makes beef jerky. Just dehydrated all the cherry tomatoes off the last couple bushes that made it through summer. I ground them up with a coffee grinder into a powder. Figured I would use the tomato powder to make tomato paste as needed for recipes. Also dried a ton of kale last spring. I put the dried kale in my smoothies and it worked perfectly and took up so much less space than freezing.

      So far, I'm thinking most of herbs and making seasoning blends and possibly dehydrating my sourdough starter 🤔

    I am frustrated out of my socks with the idea of spending trillions of dollars to change the structure of our society. However, one item deep in the gigantic bill is; "$55 billion to promote climate-friendly farming and forestry research programs"
    I hate government interference but we must set aside this bias to promote responsible small farm research. If all the TH-cam channels who are showing the advantages to the environmental just farming would band together to do peer-reviewable research imagine what we can do to help return to sound family farming practices to reduce erosion, pollution and factory farming practices harmful to air-borne carbons.
    Who can get the ball rolling to prepare to influence at least a little how this money is spent?

    • @TheNakidGardeners
      @TheNakidGardeners  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Our focus is just trying to inspire people to grow SOMETHING and in a way that benefits soil for the long term. We are realizing it takes a lot of intestinal fortitude to even do a lot of what we do and many have a hard time just doing it. Stay blessed there!
