This GMC is sporting Two - Tone Brown Exterior Paint with Painted Stripes, Polished Trim, a Black Bedlined Bed, 15'' American Racing Wheels with 35x14.5R15LT Nitto Mud Grappler Tires, After Market Headlights, Chrome Bumpers, and a Cowl Hood! Inside, this '87 is fitted with a Brown Interior with Beige Carpeting, Bench Seating, Seat Belts, Power Windows, and After Market Gauges in the Stock Location.
Under the hood sits a 350ci V8 Engine with a Brawler 4 Barrel Carburetor and an Edelbrock Intake Manifold as well as an Aftermarket Aluminum Cylinder Heads! Mated to the 350 V8 is a 700R 4 - Speed Automatic Transmission. Power is put to the ground through the 10 Bolt Rear Axle with Limited Slip and approximately 3.73:1 Gears and a Dana 44 Front Axle! How a truck should look!
I had the 85 Scottsdale 1500. 4+4. 7’ with 35’s mud terrains. Was one of my favorite trucks. Had the factory midnight blue and sky blue two color combo. Mine even had factory coded antenna in the windshield and the quarts clock.

had ‘77 and a’78 77 had small block 400 78 had 350

I wish I had the money for that truck. I used to have a 1984 Chevrolet 1500 4x4 6 inch lift, 350 bored .40 over, cammed, 600 cfm Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, headers with duel 6 ft. straight pipes off of them, 35 12.50 15 inch tires. Was a very wicked truck.
This thing's HUGE! It's A Monster Truck! Only thing it needs is an even louder exhaust, custom Monster Jam decals and some car smashing.
Have the exact same truck but blue interior. Ready for painting this spring. Body work and mechanicals all done. Not cheap to do all that work but looks great so far. 70k original miles.
Got damn!!! So much cooler than the new ones! Impractical, not as reliable and worse gas mileage but off the charts cool factor! Easier to work on and fix yourself too. This one's so nice I wouldn't even want to use it.

1987 was the last year for those generation GMC & Chevy half ton & three quarter ton regular cab pickups. The one ton regular cab pickups on the other hand were still in production up through 1989, & same with all of the rest of the models except they stayed in production up through 1991.

My mom had this exact same truck minus the mods. She bought hers new from Jones GMC dealer in Cheboygan. I thought maybe this could be hers but hers had power windows and locks.

My friends had a 81 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 and his brother a 84 k5 Chevrolet blazer and their cousin had a 84 Chevrolet square body one of them had a 81 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Camaro later on they had a 77 Silverado with a 373 gears as well they wish they kept them I helped them on a few restoration jobs

The only problem I see is the bounce as you hit bumps, leaf springs suck on a lifted truck, they should have 4 linked it with coilovers for a better ride, other than that it is gorgeous, I had one before and wish I still had it.

A friend of mine beat Me to the Chevy dealer in Temple and bought that same truck (short wheel base)off the showroom floor, I waited 3 months for a short 350 new body style,unfortunately they totaled that truck out coming back from a festival and a year later my buddy run a red light and totaled out my truck on the way to the beach
All I think of seeing that truck is Fall Guy.
