This is what I posted on Dr. Greger's video Fasting for AutoImmune Disease. (I just found out about you a few days ago.) The How Not To Die Cookbook, by Dr. Michael Greger, MD, FACLM: I am on page 102 and read this recipe book word to word out of one of the most fascinating books that I have ever read. I can not stop reading and rereading this book. At age 18, I lost my dad when he was 52 from arterial sclerosis. It was like having a heart transplant without anesthesia or a heart placed back in my chest. (Heavy smoker/meat eater/social drinker, yes, went to church every Sunday. I was adopted and raised on Coco Puffs for breakfast. I have Hasiomoto's and went Vegan after falling upon Forks Over Knives. I just feel that there is so much compassion mixed with so much science, and so much brilliance that I can not stop reading and being obsessed with this book. The fact that this doctor donates more than I can imagine to healing us back to the Truth makes me know that this doctor and his loving family is a Godsend in this cold cruel world of the Almighty Dollar. Honest to goodness, I really want to stop writing this and get back to my cookbook. I have installed the Daily Dozen on my phone and am waiting on the delivery for How Not to Die. I started making the Morning Grain Bowl, (I just take the banana and the tumeric and the ginger, mix it in the Vitamix) and my body feels cleaner in four days and I am addicted to this "cleansing" like an inner sauna. Books I wish I could, "take with me" are: 1. The Bible 2. Man's Search for Meaning 3. The How Not to Die Cookbook. I found 'Nutmeg Notebook' who made a dish from the cookbook, and I really was grateful to see these breathtaking recipes with gigantic mouth savoring photographs of each individualized recipe put into action. Dr. Gregers' personal comments are not only mind enlightening but connect me to his mission in his very own personal style. Every friend I have heard about this. Dr. Greger is one of the most greatest doctors, and I consider it an honor to be blessed for the rest of my life which is free from chains, barbed wire, suffering and clotted arteries ever, ever again. (My husband and I have a rescue dog that has taught us compassion and given us more joy like the man at the beginning of the cookbook). He will love to eat the "scraps"! I am crying ending this because I don't ever want to live another day without hearing from my Dr. Greger. X O X O X O X O X O.

Just made some of this, it was really good. I didn't have any plant milk on hand so I subbed 2 cups of water and a 1/4 cup of rolled oats. Looking forward to enjoying this recipe on many cold days, thanks so much for the recipe!

This looks so good! I was just thinking about hot chocolate the other day. Would you put it in the microwave to heat it up, also?

It depends on how strong you want it. Start with 1 teaspoon and see what you think. Enjoy!
