I'm so glad TH-cam suggested this video to me today -- I used to LOVE Boyfriend. I know it's a celebrity scent and all the "good" perfume people turn up their holier-than-thou noses at it, but it was the *only* scent I had for YEARS, and wore it happily. By far my favorite at the time, and I was super sad when they discontinued it. I would never have known they brought it back if it wasn't for you. So thank you so much!
I picked up a byredo selection set and have really enjoyed all of the scents. On top of that, I got three additional samples which has allowed me to explore even more scents. I enjoyed a few of their florals including Inflorescence and La Tulip.
My current favorite rose scent is Killian After sunset. It’s a lychee rose scent that is fresh and juicy not powdery at all. Also had great lasting power.
If you’re looking to dable in rose i would sample Chloe de Roses. It doesn’t have that old/vintage rose scent. It’s a gorgeous fragrance for spring and warmer months

I love KayAli fragrances. I have every scent from the collection, my favorite is Vanilla 28. Vanilla 28 is my forever/everyday scent. I think if you want something that gives a rose vibe then try the Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper 25.
I love Scent Sunday! Keep hoping to hear you review Stora Skuggan’s fragrances. They put so much love into their bottle design so the perfume has got to be good. Fingers crossed we’ll get your opinion on them one of these days. 🤞
i loved Commodity brand as a whole prior to the sale of the company, and haven’t tried but 1 new fragrance with this new tiered type of power of the scent. I went on a buying spree and am stocked for years w/Orris, Vetiver, Nectar and Moss. Milk and velvet are on my list to try from scentbird which I haven’t used in over a year but am likely going to reactivate. i get samples from influenster, so post, random brand ads, and always GWP. I also occasionally buy a bundle of samples and/or decants from fellow fragrance junkies! edit typo
Yayyyyyy I just love these videos!! I love all of your videos, of course but I’m so intrigued by fragrances these days again!! Can’t wait to see what you have!!!! I ordered the KayAli amber as soon as it dropped because I’ve been an amber fanatic for 30 plus years. I got. I sprayed it. I said, huh? It smelled exactly like cherry. I kept the bottle and kept on using it. It grew on me but I definitely never ever got a true nice amber type scent out of it. I just finished the bottle though. I also got Mojave Ghost and do not understand the hype. Either I got a dud or something is wrong. I spray it and I swear it smells like nothing in the air and then on me I can ever so slightly detect a smell but not even enough to describe really what I’m smelling. I really want to try that Milk and the 1015 and Inatio? Red Tobacco! What do you think about the decant sellers on eBay and Etsy?? I did buy some dupes for Love Don’t be Shy, Amber Reign, crap, 2 others I can’t even remember. Each 2 were from 2 different sellers on Etsy. Only thing is I don’t know what the originals smell like!🤪 But the Love don’t be Shy dupe does smell really yummy! I guess I’m the only person that wears my amber, woodsy, smokey, leather, tobacco scents all year!! Ok I left you a comment about Boyfriend today on your latest video, then saw this one… you HAVE to put it on the skin. It does not smell good any other way. It smells downright terrible to me on paper or clothing. On the skin, all of the sweetness and vanilla comes out. If you still have this sample, just try doing a walkthrough style spray on your chest and back. It’s so much better than you’re getting from that paper. Also the rollerball version is way sweeter, way more vanilla (relatively speaking, it still smells like Boyfriend). I really think you’d like this one if you try it again on the skin only, and let it wear for a whole day.
Yay scent sunday!! I really like Rose of No Man's Land, it is such a beautiful fresh rose scent. My sister and I sprayed it next to the Rose from Le Labo and MFK A La Rose and Byredo won, although the other two are also beautiful and similar in that they smell fresh and light like a real rose. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thinks Delina is a bit too much lol.
I really need to check that one out! I’m super into Le Labo’s Rose after getting a sample set, and have considered purchasing it at some point. But if there’s an even better rose out there? 🤔
@@Rain_Reign LOL Byredo won but that was only after spraying all three on my arm in store so not the most accurate test perhaps. I am more comfortable saying that Byredo, MFK, and Le Labo have similar rose scents that are beautiful and fresh and not at all heavy. Might be worth getting a sample of the Byredo one though if you are interested ;)
I love the sample session! I won’t order from Sephora until there are fragrance samples in the pick your two free samples now. I’m trying to build a fragrance collection. Mine is currently tiny. I have the new Black Opium, the Skylar Vanilla Sky and the Juicy Gold and a couple of older things hanging around.
You should definitely check out Nishane Ani. It’s a beautiful bright vanilla scent that can be worn all year. It’s one of the best fragrances I’ve ever smelled. Nishane is a great niche fragrance house!
I picked up the Ellis Brooklyn Chronicle sampler and was quite surprised at how much I enjoy RROSE on myself. It's not as feminine or heavy as I was expecting. Won't be picking up a full size, but it did help me realize I don't have to steer clear of rose scents

I went to Nordstroms today and they had actual samples to fill up. I’m going to try 3. Tiffany, Mont Blanc Signature which I feel you would like because of the vanilla and the Flower Bomb Orchid (subtle sweet).
I'm sampling electric wood too. Ive also been reaching for MM Replica by the Fireplace over it so I'm not sure if I'm going to get a full bottle of this BUT I am sooo intrigued by Cherry Punk. Defintely going to grab a sample of that next.

You should try the Commodity Discovery Set! So great for the price and I love the concept. The Maison Francis Kurdijian sampler is also very nice, but expensive.

I love violet and blackberry as well! I believe Falling in Love by Philosphy is violet and berry. It's been a favorite of mine for 10+ years. It's just so lovely! 😍 I need to find more fragrances with violet and berries.
I didn’t connect with the Burberry and this I could really smell the peach. It is fresh and airy soft and powdery. A scent you could wear anywhere. I love it wish I had gotten the big bottle from lucky scent. Twisted Lilly too pricey for me. I do like the matching option. You should try Nishane Ani a warm vanilla.
I just got the Commodity discovery kits this month and am really enjoying them. I couldn’t get into Milk. The lactonic creaminess was making me a bit queasy. But so far I love Moss and Gold +. I already had a decant of Velvet and it is one of the favorite scents in my wardrobe. Have you tried Amber Classico Modern from the January Olfactif box? The more I wear it, the more I like it. Thanks for mentioning Olfactif. I subscribed after I heard you talk about it the first time. Really enjoying it!
Have you tried Thin Wild Mercury scents? They’re some of my favourites and they have a sample set you can get of all 4 of their scents! Laurel Canyon is my favourite. Whiskey is also excellent, especially mixed with Chateau, though I don’t much like Chateau on its own. Their scents are some of the most complex I’ve ever worn where every time I got a whiff of it I could pick out a different accord.
I really love Rebecca Minkoff EDP. I think you'd like it! It's spicy but creamy. I believe there's cardamom and pink pepper in there along with a few other notes. I really think you'd enjoy it!
I used to wear very Valentino in the 90s and I absolutely love viktor and rolf bonbon but the couture version which they are discontinuing 😢 I get compliments all day, sweet, caramel but with a darkness to it . I'm buying Jo Malone peony and blush suede. Is BR worth it ??? It's so expensive but I want to ty it.
I enjoyed Kate Walsh on “Umbrella Academy”, and I heard she was behind a fragrance. It sounds interesting. Definitely for cold weather for me. Love from the spooky Pine Barrens in NJ
Did you try delina? I am also not a rose kind of girl but it’s refreshing and light type of sweet rose. Very nice, subtle but sophisticated in its simplicity.
I got the commodity sampler and fell in love with milk but then I picked up Eilish when it arrived at Ulta. Finally, a reason to cash in points. I’m definitely picking up Milk next fall. I also want to try out the new flowerbomb perfume. I love nectar so I have to get a sample from Sephora.
I love Commodity Milk, but the Expressive version. And Velvet Expressive too. My latest full bottle is Replica Bubble Bath, it smells like a clean baby + bergamot
I love both of those Commodity scents! I had ent tried the Replica Bubble Bath but it looks up my ally. Does it last? Im trying to only buy things right now that I can keep smelling for a bit. Replica’s lazy Sunday and by the fireplace do that for me while Autumn and Lemon Tree don’t last at all. Beach Walk is in the middle.
@@rubyrayne8 for me Jazz Club, By the Fireplace and Whispers in the Library last for me, but they are the heavier winter scents. Bubble Bath does not last like those by nature of it being a fresh and clean scent. But the drydown is gorgeous in my opinion, my fave of their lighter fragrances. Lazy Sunday morning and Beach Walk were too floral for me as I am averse to Lily of the Valley and Ylang Ylang notes. See if you can try Bubble Bath in store first or get a sample
i used to work in cosmetics and because of that i think i am SO turned off by the idea of having to pay for a sample. It's just absolutely ridiculous to me and i wont do it unless i am just DYING to try something. Not that i'm judging people who do, its more so that i'm like fuck you to the brands for not providing them for free like they should LOL. I always just walk into a store and ask for a sample of whatever new scents they have. This limits me as far as brands because a lot of more niche brands are not available in store near me unfortunately. Sometimes i'll get more interesting stuff in beauty subscription boxes or with cosmetics orders though.
That Rose Struck one is intriguing! I don't usually like black currant, but the matcha and rose together sounds divine! I just grabbed a few samples from Twisted Lily (using your code 😉) and my favorite one is Floraiku Sleeping on the Roof. It's nice and green, making me really crave Spring!!
I love Byredo Young Rose! You should give that one a try. I’m the exact same as you, I don’t like super powdery or intense florals. It’s a little musky but also fresh and juicy with an iris note! Also ambroxan which I know you like. :)
Over the years, I've learned I should avoid violet, plum, green notes, marine notes. I'm still learning though. But those notes aren't always prominent enough where I can detect them.
Lauren I am so shook that you thought Electric Wood was heavier and really wood forward! On me Electronically Wood smells so bright and fresh-like a spring forest scent instead of a fall forest scent. I will probably wear a lot of this come spring time because it’s still woodsy but so bright!

Ohhhhhhh my god!! I totally forgot about Tokyo Milk!! I used to wear their fragrances years and years ago and they even made the most amazing and different watches and I’m a watch fanatic and I still have all of the watches that I bought by them!! I’m going to have to go check them out again!!!!

I will definitely follow your rose journey. My ONLY perfume I wear was Stella, now discontinued. It’s rose. But every other rose perfume I’ve smelled, I hate. I CANNOT find a new perfume I like & I’m depressed! The closest I’ve come is Kayali sweet diamond pink pepper. But after that dries, the spice overwhelms the rose. Good luck! I’ll be staying tuned!
I recommend trying Carolina Herrera very good girl. I do not like rose scents at all but I can't help but love VGG, delicate but not powdery, just beautiful

@@rubyrayne8 for me Jazz Club, By the Fireplace and Whispers in the Library last for me, but they are the heavier winter scents. Bubble Bath does not last like those by nature of it being a fresh and clean scent. But the drydown is gorgeous in my opinion, my fave of their lighter fragrances. Lazy Sunday morning and Beach Walk were too floral for me as I am averse to Lily of the Valley and Ylang Ylang notes. See if you can try Bubble Bath in store first or get a sample

i used to work in cosmetics and because of that i think i am SO turned off by the idea of having to pay for a sample. It's just absolutely ridiculous to me and i wont do it unless i am just DYING to try something. Not that i'm judging people who do, its more so that i'm like fuck you to the brands for not providing them for free like they should LOL. I always just walk into a store and ask for a sample of whatever new scents they have. This limits me as far as brands because a lot of more niche brands are not available in store near me unfortunately. Sometimes i'll get more interesting stuff in beauty subscription boxes or with cosmetics orders though.
That Rose Struck one is intriguing! I don't usually like black currant, but the matcha and rose together sounds divine! I just grabbed a few samples from Twisted Lily (using your code 😉) and my favorite one is Floraiku Sleeping on the Roof. It's nice and green, making me really crave Spring!!
I love Byredo Young Rose! You should give that one a try. I’m the exact same as you, I don’t like super powdery or intense florals. It’s a little musky but also fresh and juicy with an iris note! Also ambroxan which I know you like. :)
Over the years, I've learned I should avoid violet, plum, green notes, marine notes. I'm still learning though. But those notes aren't always prominent enough where I can detect them.
Lauren I am so shook that you thought Electric Wood was heavier and really wood forward! On me Electronically Wood smells so bright and fresh-like a spring forest scent instead of a fall forest scent. I will probably wear a lot of this come spring time because it’s still woodsy but so bright!

Ohhhhhhh my god!! I totally forgot about Tokyo Milk!! I used to wear their fragrances years and years ago and they even made the most amazing and different watches and I’m a watch fanatic and I still have all of the watches that I bought by them!! I’m going to have to go check them out again!!!!

I will definitely follow your rose journey. My ONLY perfume I wear was Stella, now discontinued. It’s rose. But every other rose perfume I’ve smelled, I hate. I CANNOT find a new perfume I like & I’m depressed! The closest I’ve come is Kayali sweet diamond pink pepper. But after that dries, the spice overwhelms the rose. Good luck! I’ll be staying tuned!
I recommend trying Carolina Herrera very good girl. I do not like rose scents at all but I can't help but love VGG, delicate but not powdery, just beautiful
