I'm glad you mentioned Henry Rose- Dark is Night. A lot of people dis this house...and I admit they dont have like stunning or overtly unique fragrances (they're kinda basic) BUT, Dark of Night is a standout to me...I love almost all of your choices- I think we enjoy similar fragrances. I got the travel spray size of Angel’s Share in the last Sephora sale and I love it! I am thinking of treating myself to the full size for my birthday in January, but it pains me to spend so much on one fragrance when I already have others I love, like Replica By The Fireplace and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (also in the travel size). I work from home so it’s mostly me smelling myself, but I do thoroughly enjoy fall/winter scents. I would love to sample some of the Initio scents - many of them sound right up my alley.
My favorit fall sent is Parfums De Marly Oajan! Its beautiful 🥰 think you will like it too! For me it smells like apple, spices, cinammon.. absolutly beautiful 😊
Grid Charnel is one of my top 5 for life. I cannot wait for the weather to cool down so I can wear it again. I tried it in the heat and it was NOT it. It really is a winter and fall beauty.
I bought a sample of Angel’s Share a few months ago and fell in love. It’s definitely on my wish list. Maybe for the Sephora sale this year. I’ve also tried gris charnel. I’m not in love with it on me, but I wish my house could smell like that all the time. I want a gris charnel candle.
Angel’s Share was my big Sephora sale purchase last year, and I have never once regretted it! It wears so incredibly beautifully. My body likes to bring out powdery notes in a lot of fragrances but not this one - it stays boozy and sweet and creamy.
The description to some of these reminds me of my (yes, more mainstream) faves which are D&G The Only One, Elizabeth & James Nirvana Bourbon, and Nest Midnight Fleur. The Elizabeth & James and the Nest one have been discontinued which breaks my heart but I am still buying them on ebay lol
Angels Share is my favoritttteee 😍 I’m southern so that apple pie/fried apple smell is everything haha. Love the boozy note too. When I first smelled it I was literally blown away by how good it smells. But yes it def smells like Thanksgiving/Christmas and I love that.
I picked up glistening amber this week and it has quickly become a favorite!! I think you would really like Euphories by Strangers perfumerie for the fall, it sort of reminds me of a spicy minuit et demi.
I love that you talk about the expensive and niche fragrances! I can live vicariously and I can't even be tempted to buy bc it's out of my price range. I also have asthma so it's difficult to test a lot of fragrances bc it's triggering lol. Plus I'm finding out my nose is really weird and a lot of scents just do not smell right to me or on me (not covid related I think it's just how I've always been lol)
Henry Rose Queens and Monsters is in my top 3 for life. It’s a creamy sandalwood with a vanilla and green note. It’s what I picture a forest nymph would wear. ❤
I think that I will be testing Gris Charnel extrait and seta in the cooler weather as both tend to be more fall winter and I am super excited about it. I love to wear nirvana black, and Burberry brit in the cooler weather. I also love d&g pour femme. I have jovoy's remember me on my wish list for fall. I may not pick it up this fall but its definitely a contender! I love a good tea note but also love me a gourmand.
Cherry + tobacco is a good combination imo, I liked BDK’s rouge smoking, probably my favorite with a prominent note of cherry that I’ve smelled, although I don’t think I’d go for a full bottle since I’m on a budget. It’s very sweet
I still have to try to many of these, but I can definitely say Initio Side Effect is worth every penny!!! Some I’m still deciding, have to try and I definitely want to try them all and more!! Chocolate Greedy I’ll be honest is not worth paying full price, as it smells great, but on me…doesn’t last as long as I want and I definitely love it, but it’s one to get on sale
I mean it’s just paper so either side is fine. I use the thick side when I spray, It’s too easy to miss on the small side. The only time I have seen someone use the small side was when they’re physically dipped into a bottle.
I’m experimenting with angels share rn because I find it smoother and less caustic than apple brandy (even though I like the smell, just maybe not for me?) I’m finding vanilla sky to be the right blender for most of my perfumes rn, including my fave from last winter, Black phantom. My god I love it so much. Yes I smell the coffee and the rum but to me the chocolate is something a bit different, maybe tootsie roll? Anyways it’s a bit dirty smelling and sometimes I really like the extra sweetness added.
I live in Miami so Fall is a mere concept. I would wear all of these year-round even on the hottest, most humid days. These are my favorite notes: incense, amber, rose, patchouli and vanilla. I collect vintage fragrances and adore the old school Guerlains. My favorites for Fall: Shalimar and Mitsouko are excellent Fall scents I recommend you explore-especially in a their 1970-1980 formulations. I’d also recommend you get samples of all of Andy Tauer’s fragrances. dark and twisted but bright and complex. Like you, I’m not so much into florals (gourmands and orientals are my faves) but that man knows his way around a rose in ways that challenge your idea of what roses actually smell like. So much fun!
@Lauren Mae Beauty you HAVE to try Zoologist Chipmunk. It is the ultimate warm dry woody scent. it is AMAZING one of my favourites. All of their fragrances are so unique. My other favourite is Koala which is super fresh and herbal. I would love to see you review their fragrance house. Its a Niche brand in Canada, but they work with all different perfume designers from around the world!
Ive tried both milk "personal" and milk "expressive" and I must say the expressive version is SUPERIOR. it's so so sexy (I think Tonka bean can make any fragrance smell sexy), rich, sweet and woody. I can't wait to be able to afford it!!! 🙏❤️

Have you smelled Erawan from Dusita? Oh. My. Gawd. It is a sun-drenched pasture with a cool breeze with a base of vanilla. I love that it’s somehow an herbal green scent and a warm vanilla. It smells to me kind of like an exclusive spa scent, but not at all generic. It’s both warm and cool at the same time. I live in a warm climate, so it’s still pretty warm where I am, and this is such a nice “in-between” summer and fall smell. I got a sample from lucky scent, and after one wear I’m so tempted to buy a full bottle. I would highly recommend it. Very unique to anything I’ve smelled, but I’m early in my fragrance journey. If anyone has any recommendations of something similar (or even more heavy on the hay/clean dry barn smell), I’d love to hear them!
I hv a 10 ml of angel share and will buy full bottle next month with Sephora sale 20% off. Love my Gris charnel, milk expressive, and all my Initio fragrances but for some reason with minuet Demi all I smell is caramel/ that’s all! 😅

I sprung for Lubin Idole which reminds me of the LArtisan perfumer Safran Troublant, if you know it. So yummy! And I am also enjoying Dear Polly which is similar in that I get spicy and warmth but also a citrus note.

I'm surprised I haven't seen you try Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab yet! They make exclusively perfume oils which definitely perform differently compared to commercial fragrances. Based on your scent preferences I would hazard a guess that Snake Oil and Antikythera Mechanism would be good bets for you from their line!
My favorite colder weather scents are TF Tobacco Vanille, Cafe Rose, and Lost Cherry. Then Zoologist Bat. Phlur Hepcat, and Hermetica Fig Fever and Vertical Cloud. Almost forgot Room 1015 Cherry Punk.
I also work in a perfume store & were taught to hold it the way she does, since the thick side is for writing the name of the perfume on 😅 I guess we’re all taught differently

Ooh I highly recommend Dedcool Xtra Milk! The OG is a layering scent but the Xtra is potent goodness! It’s a creamy musk that is perfect for Fall!!
