I TOTALLY agree. Chris Harris is my all time best car reviewer and after him, there is Jeremy Clarkson. Chris has this simply way of communicating the most nerdy bits about a car with the driving experience that makes you feel like you have driven the car as well. Lastly, this is my dream car
The detail CH goes into - the explanation of how the seat contributes to a less good ride at low speed, and the heat haze behind the car - is great geeky stuff.
@Hòmè Ďeçoŕè Turning on closed caption at 12:26 was helpful. 😂 But seriously, John McGuinness is an amazing sportsman. Here he is at the Isle of Man TT in May 2022: th-cam.com/video/5njRjcMWIpo/w-d-xo.html The most hair raising motor sport event in the world. Nothing comes close.
“Not that I’m an arse man! “Perfect Chris Harris comments. By far the best car reviewer and driver on TH-cam. Agree also, it always comes back to the Porsche 911. Great video.
All my rev-matching heel & toe downshifting (or "blip") practice I did as a youngster in the old Mazda 1300 is now reduced to a checkbox on a screen. 3:56
So they made the 911 - a road car - and then made a racecar version, then they adapted that for the road and made the 911 GT3 - a racecar for the road - then they made it back into more of a road car - the 911 GT3 Touring, a racecar for the road, for the road.
@@wronggg It's not that confusing really. It's a hardcore, track-focused but dramatic Porsche, for people that don't want to attract too much attention or just don't like wings.
Damn I luv the GT3-T. Chris is always spot one. The best car reviewer hands down. But do want to give a shout out to Harry’s Garage. Watch both these chaps on a regular basis.
This man could explain the dynamics involved in the movement of a snail for 2 hours and I would listen with rapt attention! So many insane little details he picks out.
Another cracking video. The way Chris manages to stay so humble when he talks about his ownership experiences puts most TH-cam influencers to shame. The very best motoring journalists manage to take you on a journey whilst they fill you with all the key facts about a car and the way Chris weaves his magic in this regard is almost unrivalled. The videography is also superb. Bravo 🙌🏼
Lovely review, and great to see McGuinness pop in at the end! May his sphincter never tighten, and he remain safe on the utter chaos of tarmac hell that is the IoM TT.
And that is why I love Chris. He actually gives a review of the car by someone who knows cars. Like KNOWS what the **** he's talking about regards to handling. More Chris please!
Chris Harris could make a billion dollars a year SELLING Porsches! Imagine being in a Porsche dealership and Mr. Harris walks up to you with all that knowledge, personality, energy, passion, and charisma. ..Jesus! SOLD!
I have a 991 GT3RS and god I love that car. It’s crazy Chris I watched you review the lava orange one and that was my dream car when it came out. Now that same car is in my garage. Thanks for the honest reviews.
Car review perfection: at the same time raving about how good this car is, basically saying it's the best every day sport car out there, whilst complaining about the cupholder and it's arse. Good stuff
I'm so glad we are still improving things, rather than refining them to maximize profits. So refreshing to witness the intersection of passion and execution
Chris talking about the GT3 wing being better on the 992 than the one on the 991 and then catching himself going on a tangent "it's getting complicated" is why I love this man. He could talk nonstop about Porsches and would love doing so. God damn would I love to get a beer with the man
Honest review Chris. I too think that the ride is perfect, It's a GT3 so it's meant to be firm. As for the rear spoiler, I choose the wing as I don't like the normal 911 spoiler. A ducktail would have been perfect imo. So spot on!
"And with the money from this, are you going to sort out the old gnashers?" I think I just pissed myself!! As always, very engaging to watch, but that cameo appearance of John McGuinness was just brilliant!
Thank you for pointing out all of differences between the 991.2 Touring and the 992 Touring. I recently acquired a 991.2 GT silver car and going to buy a 992 Touring next year.
The best marketing any car company could ever hope for: "I get to drive everything and still it comes back to this car. It's just the one that you'd have if you enjoyed the subject." Where do I sign?
Now that’s an automotive dream team….I’d chuck in Matt Watson for the more lighthearted segments. I’d also have Henry’s team do the cinematography…their video production is next level.
I dont know many people who can refer to their personal cars by just their color, but they must be living quite a blessed life to be able to do so. Not too many average people wake up and say " I think I'll take the yellow one to work today". We should all attain that goal one day. Keep grinding, fellow car lovers!
Chris is my favorite motoring journalist of all time, print or video. His taste, prose, and attention to detail are without parallel. You can live the dream vicariously onboard any piece he's presented. GT3 Touring - because you can, so of course, you do. Brilliant. And a cameo by John Warren McGuinness MBE, again simply because he can. Mega!
… and just when you thought you made up your mind and settle for a GTS, this video pops up and throws everything you thought of out the window. So damn beautiful!
I think the idea of the GT3 Touring is great, but unfortunately I miss the wing somehow. Either I want an uncompromising track tool or a GT car for long distances.
This car with and without rear swankneck spoiler is lovely beauty. I like colors variety in this 992 generation and the shark blue is simply sublime. High-end sound of the engine, although still spectacular, is too hoarse at idle, 991 sounded higher pitched, more metallic, same like the new Cayman GT4 RS that sounds awesomely adictive at 9.000 rpm.
I've always loved 911s, but imo this is probably my favorite looking version yet. Just wish I could actually buy one without being some sort of millionaire with connections.
Agreed sir, it’s a bloody joke trying to get one. They don’t like ‘investors’ buying them but Porsche main dealers sell second hand ones for way over list price, bloody hypocrites!
Another great video, thank you Chris and by the way I totally agree with you about the ride and handling of the car, I’ve had my GT3 for just two weeks and I think that it rides and handles just the way that a GT3 should. Furthermore, for what it’s worth, I also hate the stupid drivers cup holder, the old pop out ones were brilliant and the new removable thing is a load of rubbish. When will Collecting Cars be coming up to the North West of England?
Mr Harris you get as geeky as you want because that's what I want, you're outlook on life, your opinion. So.... many thanks and all the best. There's me thinking what a lovely video THEN you spring the guest on us GLORIOUS.
For me the touring just misses a trick, why does it have to be so close to a standard GT3? It could be an epic road car sister to the GT3s epic track/fast road bias. Very slightly soften it down, ditch the dodgy uncomfortable fronts and give it rear seats. The clue should be in the name, Touring.
Yeah, I feel that. Adding a back seat and toning the car down would be a good way to make the Touring package more distinct from a regular GT3, beyond just removing the wing.
@@TheDoosh79 Motors are electric... engines are combustion... well you know what I mean ;-) but I agree with you wholeheartedly... the GT3's engine is the heart of the car..

I don't know if you are still with top gear if you are i hope there are paying you in gold bricks. This format of Chris Harris with out all the top gear fluff around it is what we love and want more of.

Confoederatio Helvetica is very detailed.
It’s funny. I just noticed the heat haze today after watching his review. Pretty cool to see.
Not even geeky, that is actually one of the fundamentals of a good car.
