I understand this video is nearly three years old; but I'm glad it popped up in my recommendations. This bike is my "goal", too; so I've been watching every video and reading everything I can find about it. Unfortunately, a lot seems to be negative; but I can't shake my desire for this bike. The heart wants what the heart wants. Thanks for the review. It was cool seeing someone that looks like me, and who is not rich; owning the bike of my dreams.

I was planning on to buy a Hypermotard SP but, after test riding this and at the price that it was... she came home. 👍👍
Really nice video ! This bike is beautiful ! I just got mine and i have the same problems as you do with the fuel sensor and the rear brake except my rear brake has lost all the pressure. I took it to the dealership here in France and apparently Ducati has found that the rear brake lines that go under the seat and just above the cylinder heat up quite a lot and it causes the brake to become mushy and having to pump in order to make it work. If you still have the bike might aswell check that out ! I'll report once i get it done myself ! And maybe you haven't had the misfortune of having a rock impact on your belt yet, but for any of you reading this the belt costs near 500€ and Ducati replaces it free of charge once in the lifetime of your bike.
Rear brake problem- sport mode makes the bike front brake focused allowing you to slide rear tire. Different modes change the brake to front or rear, or both. That might be the prob. Maybe
Seriously great overview. I have a 2016 s same issues ( rear brake, fuel sender). My dealer knew right away about it and took care of it. SEACOAST motorsports in NH. Freaking looooove my bike. Just figured out how to wheelie it. I might die.
Ducati should have issued a notice with that rear brake regards to how to properly use it. But in essence it works like a brake booster setup in road cars. You have to double pump it to get it to "work" and then modulate the pressure. This takes some getting use to and isn't that safe when panic braking, but actually works kind of well in normal city riding situations. A short pump, let off, then ease back on again.

nice bike! just viewed CycleCruza’s video about the 5 things he loves about his xdiavels. and he says that there is a recall on the rear brake. and ducati will replace/repair it for free under warranty. his is a 2016. so you might want to check it out. good luck! take care!

Have you tried removing the caliper and flipping it so the nipple is facing up?
I had done this with my 1098 streetfighter and voila, I had a rear brake again

As far as that rear shot goes, even with adjustment, it surprisingly sucks. LOL the nitron R2 rear shock will change your life.
With your termi exhaust, are you tuning your bike with rapid bike Evo or did you have the dealer install the up map?

Bike World oh Snaps a comment from Bike World 👐🏽! It's awesome I've only tried it once and it is nuts you have to hang on tight your legs really give you no support with the forward peg placment.
We rode the bike on the launch and they didn't want us testing it on the road.
I posted a video on the XD owners group , its pretty fun :P , RTFM though (i didnt) lvl 1 is not for unexperienced.
What shop redid the seat? I'd like something like that. Not exactly the same as yours, just different. The work looks well done and the materials they used look like they are good quality.

I like what you have done to your bike. next time you bleed the rear brake could you make us a video? I love my XDS. however I took it out yesterday, first ride after service for a clicking noise around the rear wheel, and i went to use the rear brake and it didnt work.......doing some research i found that it is a common problem. Some say its because the reservoir is so close to the engine.....I dont know. mine is still under warranty for the next 9 months but the dealer is an hour away.
ricky110882 I planned on doing a video of the rear brake bleed soon but the dealer on the recall fixed it for me. I will try and do a video when I have the wheels replaced and show you what the dealer does to bleed them properly.

PlayerX Honestly my first bike was the FZ10 which was a liter bike you can definitely start out with this bike it has 3 riding modes and urban mode makes the throttle response very smooth and controllable. I will be making a video soon talking about buying a liter bike as my first bike and how I ended up buying 2 with in 12 months.
What seat is that? I need to get a better seat for mine. My ass hurts after 30 min rides.

Hillslam Did you end up pulling that trigger? Just make sure all the recalls have been done and you get the extended warranty.

Michael White This bike is an excellent daily commuter with the great gas mileage, I actually commuted to work on this bike just about everyday.

Mike Garcia I got it made at a place called "General Top and Trim" in Saginaw Mi. Should be able to goolge them and get contact info, they are very reasonable on pricing.

Carlos Cervantes None what's so ever. I stay far away from gravel.
Also an FYI to anyone thinking of getting this bike. Don't buy the S model. The gloss paint quality is terrible. The matte black paint is much more durable.

3star2nr that's not accurate at all...in northern states you winterize bikes and they don't get turned on for 3-5 months
Sounds like you've had a lot of problems for 6000 miles and that expensive of a bike
They put too much attention to details except the handle bar
