I went away from the computer for a moment, and I thought I was listening the album. So clean, so incredible. I guess thats what happens when you lump three genuises (arguably the best electric guitar player and drummer on the planet) toghether....
This is one of my favorite pieces from them, and even live I still get 'the feels' listening to it. The only sad thing is that more people have yet to hear these guys - they'll be totally blown away by the amount of talent these three gentlemen possess.....
This song is beautiful. GG continues to amaze me with his skill and selection of notes. IMHO, singers have it easy compared to what it takes to accomplish this. Unfortunately this generation for the most part exalts image over substance, and vocals rule over the tremendous power of skillful instrument playing.
I don't care which version of this, Bryans song, I listen to, Guthrie, you totally nail the feel! When I need to know how to "feel" a song...this IS my go to!
I saw him yesterday, at his concert in paris ! It was the best concert he never done ! Him and this band ! Awesome, Thanks god to let them jam together ;) God bless you guys !
As always as expected Allan Holdsworth unbelievable phenomenal solo But the melody hats off brother, you had me worshiping and singing praise to Jesus on that Melody that was beautiful brother Guthrie
just realized he doesn't compression since he emulated volume swells with only light picks. but he plays so fast and the notes all so full and he only had overdrive level gain..
I was self taught for over a decade, practiced guitar from when I woke up, to dinner time, then from dinner time to early hours. And I never got any injuries. I guess I'm more naturally suited to guitar or practiced the right way. My piano technique is poor though, so I have got tendon pain several times from that.
Point is, my technique on guitar is also bad because I was self taught, it has been pointed out by several teachers/trained guitarists, however it has never caused me injury, except the wear pain at fingertips that we all get. All left hand movements are natural on guitar, we evolved from grabbing branches to grabbing guitar necks I guess. On piano you press down at the same time as lifting up, causing what's known as co-contraction of tendons. Makes it easier to injure yourself.
Guitar can go either way, if you love it enough, sometimes you don't need lessons, though they help. Piano on the other hand, you risk injury if you don't learn properly lol. I've been playing guitar for 15 years and never injured myself. Now after a couple of months of self-teaching piano, I have tendon problems in my fingers O_.
No, injuries on all instruments are common, you would be surprised as the number of guitarists who get tendonitis and RSI from over-practice. Having tendon problems in your hands from playing piano means you're playing with poor form or forcing motions.
If there is a better band in the world right now, I've never heard them. These 3 are insane!
Porcupine Tree live in Tilburg 2008
What a beautiful composition by Beller.
It's been 7 years. This is my favorite live version
I think the best was, boing were doing it live
Mine too!
This a close second from boing, for sure!
11 now :)

Those guitar volume swells are so well done! Bravo Guthrie.
GG, MM, BB = TRIO PERFECT
Their songs are really the BGM for me when I study
Guitar, Bass and Mrums!
No matter how many times I listen to this song, every time the solo kicks in, it completely melts my heart.
Same here! It gives me chills
This is one of my favorite pieces from them, and even live I still get 'the feels' listening to it. The only sad thing is that more people have yet to hear these guys - they'll be totally blown away by the amount of talent these three gentlemen possess.....
I think Eric Johnson would be impressed …
Agreed..I hear alot of Eric in this tune!
Excellent recording too 😄
Guthrie is my guitar hero. He is armed with tons of musical wisdom and he can play absolutely anything. From POP to fusion. . He can do it all.
No he can't
@@shirleymental4189 yes he can
I love the Aristocrats they look like Time Travelers
This song is beautiful. GG continues to amaze me with his skill and selection of notes. IMHO, singers have it easy compared to what it takes to accomplish this. I don't care which version of this, Bryans song, I listen to, Guthrie, you totally nail the feel! When I need to know how to "feel" a song...this IS my go to!
Damn. That was a truly beautiful guitar solo. One of Guthrie's best.
This song seems to bring out some of his most melodic playing.
It just one absolutely incredible band. Blessed they are.
wow.. guthrie finally found a band that fit!. Awesome!!! cant wait to hear more!
5:28 Guthrie fail chord.. and smile. Genio!
Yes and after a little time Marco turns to him and smiles, too!

But the melody hats off brother, you had me worshiping and singing praise to Jesus on that Melody that was beautiful brother Guthrie

We these guys played at Orion in Baltimore this song brought a tear to the eye, SERIOUSLY.
Amazing guitarplayer.
this isn't boring, it is peaceful
Fantastic band, im seeing these guys in december. Cant wait

What’s that chord at 1:20?
The first few notes of the solo melted me
How he tempers his speed is inspiring, what a feel go gg go.

Those chords at the end felt like they were cleaning my brain out.
Guthrie Govan plays Guitar, Brian Beller Bass, and Marco Minnerman... I'm sure he plays marimba at home

'Turkish Tea Shirt'

"Flatlands" and "Sweaty Knockers" - diverse preferences I see... What a band though!
Some beautiful.St.

Oh yeah, definitely agree. I just meant that Ive heard people say that lessons are a must.
Guthrie can shred and nail a feel at the most perfect scale..
Point is, my technique on guitar is also bad because I was self taught, it has been pointed out by several teachers/trained guitarists, however it has never caused me injury, except the wear pain at fingertips that we all get. @Extracelestial Fantastic sound eh. Guthrie is a revolutionary musician
Great piece of music ! Sounds a bit like Chad Wackerman's kind of compositions
The intro really reminds me of Final Fantasy..... :')
Man that guy has some licks!
They should've named the band 'The Alliterates"
because all theirs names are examples of alliteration.
Jeff Beck and Guthrie Govan together...? Does that exist?
У меня эта вещь долго была на рингтоне.
P.S. Кстати, а сейчас, - вторая вещь из этого же альбома. Самый крутой рингтон в Днепре, - у меня.
chillin'
3 wizards
The beards are the secret to their talent =)
And hence, playing in the style of Marco Minneman was dubbed: Marcussion.
Genios
@DerekBallesty yea, Guthrie is also a freak of nature lol

@ScottNicholasSimpson self-thought, his family is musically inclined though
@DerekBallesty Ya, I should certainly mind my business on a public discussion section of a popular website.
marco malletmann
close enough ;)
@socratesandlavagods And dont make assumptions about people you dont know. Good man.
I just realised all their last names start with the same letter as their first names...
Guthrie is the fucking best PERIOD
That would be why
@socratesandlavagods Well said.
...Marcussion?
Got a jan hammer vibe
Not to mention Marco Mrums.
Guthrie Govan = Guitar
Brian Beller = Bass
Marco Minneman = ......
Mrums
2:39
@DerekBallesty Thanks. People like you perpetuate not educating yourself or getting lessons crack me up.
Quite the solo...fuuuuuuckkkk
@ScottNicholasSimpson 100% self taught
@tastefulphrasing Yea and Dave Carpenter was the best bassist on the planet. He should have played wt these guys.
No, injuries on all instruments are common, you would be surprised as the number of guitarists who get tendonitis and RSI from over-practice. Having tendon problems in your hands from playing piano means you're playing with poor form or forcing motions.
Marco Mashpads
Does anyone know the chords to the solo?
I think both ways can get your technique to where you want it. Eddie Van Halen didn't take lessons , and Randy Rhoads did.
xD Epic
@DerekBallesty uhh
;-)
Amazing band, but this is the first tune I've liked.
