very lyrical melodies. Feels more like a speech than a song. I don't want to dance to this and it doesn't pertain to any particular set of emotions, but there is something mysteriously alluring about every song this band makes.
@blanketzombie2027 Wow, 8 years since my comment. :D It's still one of my faves. Although builders is a close contender. Also some tunes from You know what. Last orders, spanish Eddie...
Saw them a few weeks ago here in Sweden. Easy one of the 3 best concerts I've ever been to! The other two are Dream Theater at Sweden Rock Festival, sometime in the beginning of 2000-20005 that era, and Joe Bonamassa also in Stockholm, 2012.
This is the best music I've heard in years! Love it's rawness and sheer awesome musicianship of the players. Can't wait for the live DVD. Bring it on!!
Come on dude, it's a matter of taste, and these guys easily rank up there with the best. I've never really gotten into any of the bands you mentioned, but these guys just kill every time, and are an absolute joy to witness in action.
Great gig and tour,March 2012, this was the last gig at Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh, The Aristocrats are truly awesome....and I gave Guthrie the Stella! Next up is UK/Europe with Mike Keneally Band (Bryan Beller is in that lineup too), March/April 2013. Steve (GODSTICKS).
Nice upload; one of my favourites off the album. Excellent performance as you come to expect from these guys; Guthrie's mind-blowing guitar playing as usual :p
I totally get what you're saying. On the other hand, most of the time, he makes me run to it and learn a new scale shape or arpeggios. He's really a brilliant musician first, guitarist second. In that respect he's similar to Vai. This is the stuff these depraved youth of today should be listening to. Rihanna and Bieber get 30 million views and these amazing musicians remain virtually unknown sans certain circles of people with taste. Inspired playing.
No UK gigs for The Aristocrats yet as far as I know but we play the Voodoo Rooms again with Mike Keneally on March 24th 2013...Bryan Beller (Aristocrats) is on bass.. :)
Yeah, I saw a previous comment you made that led me on to watching some Mike Keneally videos and he's superb. Will get a ticket for that, definitely. Will see Minnemann and Guthrie in Steven Wilson's band in March so not too bad!
I can't believe it! His obsession with a guy named Tim has driven him to drink. You're good Guthrie. Okay, so what if you don't have the feel he does, you're still good. Please don't become a drunk! :-)
oh that can be the reason the title also features an animal, parrot.. maybe he consciously thought that it has some similarities with Uncle Skunk either that or he planned it from the start. like a series of tunes with animal titles
I've asked this before, but who is the bass player? These guys are awesome. Good thing Cookie Monster didn't land the Dream Theater gig. This is more of his wheel house.
It’s named I Want a Parrot because when Guthrie was writing this song for the Aristocrats he had many layers of guitar but they wanted to create music without the overdubbing. So Guthries thought was to get a parrot to “play” the parts he wouldn’t be able to.
Virtuoso musicianship from all three. Over-indulgent, overblown and over complicated but that's why I went to see them. Guthrie's playing makes you reassess if you should bother picking up the guitar again.
yeah zztop was not a good one to have in that list... i mean jeez... they have one or two good songs. and they are only good for background noise when having a beer at the bar...
i'd love to see Billy Sheehan on bass with Guthrie and Marco.. he's the only one i can think of that has the same wacky energy.. Bryan Beller plays well but.. it just seems less entertaining to see him there
I love how Marco is always smiling and enjoying his music. Same on his work with Paul Gilbert and Tony MacAlpine.

been following these guys for 10 years . The best band ever!!!
Never given it any thought before but now I want a parrot
Guthrie can make any guitar sing, but this last Suhr is still my favourite signature model - Suhr or Charvel.
My favourite Aristocrats song by now, and that is NOT an easy choice
triggSerable Yeah, it just has a little bit of everyrhing in it! My favourite version is from the "Boing We'll Do It Live" concert. Brilliant stuff.
What is it now ? :D
i can't imagine it's any easier with duck out now too, here comes the builders, this is not scrotum, all amazing choices😭
@blanketzombie2027

That bass tone is sinfully amazing.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!👏👏👏👏👏

Люблю места, где можно прибухнуть артистам. Но это - не главное!) Как же они хороши!

I see an Aristocrats vid the first thing I do is hit thumbs up before I hear anything & I've never taken one back.

GENIAL!!! BRILLANT!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Yeah, I saw a previous comment you made that led me on to watching some Mike Keneally videos and he's superb. Will get a ticket for that, definitely. Will see Minnemann and Guthrie in Steven Wilson's band in March so not too bad!
Didn't even know Marco Minnamann was playing with them. Great.
Will also check out some of your band videos, I'm sure I will approve!
4:28 is sick especially 4:35, closest to Shawn Lane I've seen on that sort of thing!
Govan governs! As do the other two. :-)
I can't believe it! His obsession with a guy named Tim has driven him to drink.
You're good Guthrie. Okay, so what if you don't have the feel he does, you're still good. Please don't become a drunk! :-)
Thickens it out pleasingly
Guthrie's facial expressions made me poo
"Christian Bale" on Drums!! Lol.. Marco's awesome.. \m/
Excellent ! xD
Just wow
Guthrie is Alien
Best trio of all time??? Rush, ZZtop, Jimi Hendrix Experience just to mention a few.
yes dude !!
''Back to wanting parrots'' Oh you....
Proper guitar--thank God!
1:13 sounds like the saxophone squeal from House of Pain - Jump Around
Frank Zappa... Level Orange
Bryan in reality seems EXACTLY opposite of his avatar's facial expression in the album cover.
yeah man. get with it \m/
Guthrie really wants a Stella, not a parrot !!
YES,he wants a STELLA ARTOIS....
5:45 WAAAAHHH!!!!
Guthrie is a god
'Stella' is a brand of beer xD
GUTHRIE STOP YOU'RE HURTING MY EGO!!!!!!!!!!
It makes you wonder what his practice/work ethic is like prolly some sick ish
He said he doesn't practice anymore
it sickens me how godly guthrie is rofl fuck xD
Oh, thanks for zoom on intro strange chords!
oh that can be the reason the title also features an animal, parrot.. maybe he consciously thought that it has some similarities with Uncle Skunk either that or he planned it from the start. like a series of tunes with animal titles
Fucking awesome.
Is that Marco Minnemann?
Nick White yup
I've asked this before, but who is the bass player? These guys are awesome. Good thing Cookie Monster didn't land the Dream Theater gig. This is more of his wheel house.
now i'm curious about what song did marco minnemann was talking about ...
Did you manage to film the whole show? If so, could you be persuaded to part with a DVD rip for a negotiable financial reward?
5:30, Govan looking at God "Check this out, noob!"
Don"t act relaxed! This is incredibly difficult to play! You must be pushed behind your limits!😬
holy FUCK.
2:29
I heard Guthrie make a mistake. He is human.
5:06 best part of this song...
IAN!!!!!
hahaha :)
Are the Aristocrats likely to play Edinburgh again anytime soon, do you know?
mmmmmmmm....yummy playing.....groovy
sorry i m a new fan of guitar god guthrie govan and was curious to know who stella is
I fancied that Guth was a real aleian
man, these guys are so fucked up. never fails to impress me
what are they saying about paris at the begining? they need to relax or something i don't get it
Con que se drogó Guthrie para sacar ese solo en el minuto 4:20 ?
Vos mismo lo dijiste, 4:20 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Whats Murderface doing there :o
BWAAHHAHAHAHAAHAH
Didn't know Ron Jeremy is a bass player now.. O.o
Why the song has this name?
WHY NOT????
@@BradPittBrabo Usually they name a song after some event, is funny hear the stories of these names

Holly fuck, is that Minnemann on drums?! Govan and Marco?!?! fuck..
what do you know. not even one paul gilbert on drums joke.
Virtuoso musicianship from all three. Over-indulgent, overblown and over complicated but that's why I went to see them. Guthrie's playing makes you reassess if you should bother picking up the guitar again.
not at all. since when does vai play fusion?
Been saying that for Year's, who can touch that, not Steve.
vakkkkkkkk
yeah zztop was not a good one to have in that list...
i mean jeez... they have one or two good songs.

Superfuntaztic band! Vocal could have ruin it all.
not even funny...
