I think the fact that he doesn't want to look at her is more than just petty rage. It's him rejecting her, and in his own romanticized way, removing her toxicity from his world. Given her fear of abandonment, it's one of the harshest, non-violent ways he could have hurt her.
(And, in my opinion, she deserves it.)
it's not easy to look at someone you loved once who abused you as viciously as she did (and still is) He probably knows this, being an expert in what it's like to be abused as a child; making a promise not to look at her again takes this trauma symptom and turns it into a positive demonstration of his resolve-- and also, almost a monument to having loved someone-- the fidelity one holds to the promise made. It's actually quite a complex and lovely thing to do. Of course she hates it, but that's her problem; what she wanted was to control him, and then when she thought she had a chance to grab a permanent golden meal ticket elsewhere she left to get pregnant by the world's richest man, who would probably never have given her s much as the time of day except that she was Depp's wife.

Agreed! With all due respect to The doc.. , this one is off by a long shot. It looks like he decided he’d had enough of her and her friends taking advantage of him, and she tried to vindictively ruin his life and livelihood. All with lies.

Remember too Dr. Grande that a number of Amber's friends were all staying at his posh apartment units, rent-free, enjoying life and h9lding parties, drinking and holding drug sessions. They were all into substance abuse. This must have been very expensive on his part. He must have felt captive. Though one is rich, there are limits to economic strain. He was abused by so many factors. Not only was his physical body abused. His emotions, his psychological well-being his social relations with his children and family ( mother was sick with cancer) and even his spiritual strength were being negatively affected with his partnership with Amber.

I find it weird how many people in the field of psychology are simply favorable to female testimony over males. Dr Grande is very smart, but is obviously being way too biased for Amber in light of the evidence in my personal opinion.
You missed a major part of the “not seeing his eyes” audio. It was recorded AFTER she filed the TRO, after the point where she claimed she ‘just wanted to move on with her life’ and for him to leave her alone. It was a recording of the meeting that SHE requested, where she is heard begging Johnny to let her hug him, saying “I just want to touch you”... it annihilates her ‘just wanting him to leave me alone’ nonsense.
It also shows Depps resolve to not allow her to influence him any more. He’s withdrawing his gaze from her. She will never get his vulnerability nor his attention again. That isn’t petty. That’s someone who has been abused vowing that they won’t take it any more.
Exactly. It is enforcing necessary (healthy -given the context) boundaries in a way that he knows how. Dr Grande is way off the mark with his analysis around this. It's somewhat surprising.

I've had to say the exact same thing to an extremely abusive ex-gf who I am certain suffers from BPD and who pulled a lot of the same sick games that Amber Heard played with Depp. I actually told her she would never see my eyes again. People with BPD abuse you, and when you try to create distance or straight up leave, they will then hone in on your vulnerability and affection for them, and draw you back into the cycle of games, lies and abuse. The only way to deal with BPD is NO DIRECT CONTACT WHATSOEVER.

I think you’re missing the boat, doc. Johnny has a right to redeem himself, anyone would. What if someone ruined your reputation and you couldn’t work again? What would you do, drop your head and scurry off? You would only accept this if you were guilty. It’s ambers inability to control depp that has contributed to her continued vindictiveness towards him. She is showing him, doc. Don’t screw with me, little man. That’s the message. We’ve heard hear taunting him with much the same wording over and over, or at least some of us were listening.

This vid gives me comfort in the fact that even Legends like Dr. Grande are human and can make mistakes. I can't buy the notion of Painting Amber as the "David" in the 'David vs Goliath-analogy'. She paid 6 million dollars for her legal defense. She got 7 million from the divorce settlement. She got paid millions for her role in Aquaman not to mention other roles. Respectfully strongly disagree.

Also this was the day he found out his mother was dying. Idt anyone pointed this out, the reason he was slamming the cabinets had nothing to do with Amber, yet she filmed it & led other's to believe it was about her & she was scared.....more lies.
I usually agree with you Dr but I think you misunderstand the whole point of this trial. Johnny has already stated that it's to clear his name. When those accusations were made his career was over. They automatically believed Amber and released johnny from everything. I think it's a little messed up to say that he's being petty for not being ok with having his whole life destroyed. As a victim of childhood abuse and DV, I can't buy what she's selling. I don't think he's a saint but I don't know if I believe anything she's saying. Half of what she says doesn't make sense and in almost every recording he's begging for her to let him walk. She won't which is odd. If my ex husband wanted to walk I would have packed him a lunch.
I hear what you're saying.... I think the things is depot out experienceexperiences theirs are different and their personalities are very different to us average ppl. It could be she was upset at him leaving, it could be he kept copping out and disappearing which is psychologically damaging or it could be he was going off to get drunk and use drugs and come back in a total state. One thing I particularly don't like is his friendship with Marilyn manson who is a well known abuser and that would be uncomfortable for any young wife. It's hard to tell exactly what happened and the trial is ongoing so maybe there will be more clarity. I though Josh Drew was a very competent and believable witness on Heards side as was her make up artist and her acting coach
@@bereal6590 how is Marilyn Manson a "well known" abuser? Just because some people do drugs does NOT MEAN that their intimate partners need to stick around. In fact, the best thing to do when a person you care about is abusing drugs or you is LEAVE them or ACCEPT THEM. You can't guilt them into change because YOU think drugs are a cop-out. They're a way to escape pain. Inner pain. Not the type of pain a person can LEAVE if they're a grown adult being "abused."

@@jaysunsandnorcal5555 Have you heard of people pleasers and codependency? My neighbor (woman) has rescuer syndrome, it can be a narcissistic trait believing the person who's addicted can be better if having support and love.
In the 90s she was married with a man who was heroine addict and she covered up for him being deal. Many times he would disappear for days, they would have an argument and he would walk away and she would be terrified of him dying of overdose somewhere. She finally let him go but wasn't able of having a healthy relationship ever again since the two men she dated after also had alcohol dependency.
Having alcohol and drugs for fun isn't the same of using them as self medication for pain.

The recordings you're right about but he was controling jealous and paranoid yelled smashed stuff and that would be very threatening so I don't think he is the laid back type. He did punch a guy on set and I believe that's ongoing. Usually a broken nose is accompanied with black eyes.
My daughter broke her nose and it was a nice clean break, no big deal according to the doctor. All they gave her was some analgesic. But you should have seen the mess of the kid! Both eyes swelled up and so did her nose. She had two black eyes that were the darkest purple and the bruising lasted for about 2 weeks! She was only 6. I can't imagine how a punch to the face which resulted in a nose break would leave someone looking ok enough to go on TV. The pain would mean, at the very least, she should need some kind of medication to ease it. Yet she didn't seek medical attention?

@@anjou6497 There were no photos of said injuries shown though. She did claim she produced those photos and handed them to her team, they simply chose not to use them apparently? Numerous other inconsistencies with her reports and actual pictures were pointed out as well (such as a picture she took showing a single bruise on her arm with no visible injuries to her face shortly after she claimed to have been severely pummeled in the face specifically)
Dr Grande, you should listen to the next day of the trial, there is an abandonment episode caught on audio. And a psychotic episode of devaluation where she laughs like a maniac. The most bizarre stuff is that she recorded these things.
yeh well the episode where she laughs uncontrollably, they were both completely wasted (obviously) and she sounds very much at the end of her life (exhausted by years of emotional abuse or pain, in her perspective, ofc..)

The problem with your final analysis is that Johnny has to live with Amber's accusations everyday. It destroyed his career and that is proven beyond a doubt that she manipulated the MeToo movement to hurt Johnny permanently. Any and all attempts at power from Johnny is fleeting and hasn't hurt Amber at all. What would you do if someone slandered you into losing all credibility and career? In fact Johnny's exes all came out to back up the fact he is a pacificist. The ONLY person that has accused Johnny of what you say is his abuser. Which is typical of female abusers.
This is exactly what I personally went through when I married an abusive woman with HPD. And the response that I got was EXACTLY your response. People that didn't even know me would brush off what I went through by saying we were abusing eachother at best. At worst I was called an all out abuser and by virtue of genitals made my ex the victim. I was cheated on, robbed, punched, assaulted with a butcher knife which she then turned on herself to cut her wrists right in front of me to my horror, and had legal false accusations thrown at me exactly as Johnny did, with help from her (temporary) friends. These temporary friends also stalked me, hacked me with passwords she gave them, and backed up her false stories. Later some appologized to me after she dumped their ass too or when she hurt them after i was gone. This is what women like Amber do to men! Johnny had it way worse, to the point of amputation. Jesus.

I agree with you. I've known a woman just like Amber. She took advantage of a good friend of mine in a similar way and ruined his life. I'm impressed that Johnny is taking a stand. Unfortunately my friend hasn't. He still believes the crap she told him. Sure, Johnny screwed up a few times and the drugs didn't help, but I don't see him as manipulative or abusive in this situation. And it's not because I think he's amazing on screen (he is). I've heard almost the exact same arguments between my friend and his ex as those recordings Amber made.

I think it was brought up to embarrass Amber. It was cruel and not needed as evidence in this case. It was just salt to rub into her wounds. I suspect that JD asked his legal team to make a point about this fact. Amber is not innocent in all of this, but Depp isn’t innocent either. They both are abusive and this trial is a waste of time for all parties involved.

As a make-up artist myself, I know for a fact that if she was soo clever in being able to cover up bruises with make-up, then she would know how to use make-up to create the look of bruises and redness on her skin as well.

Yes, and as an Actress,such as she is, makeup people on set have added bruises, abrasions,etc for roles. She learned.
I don’t see how make up can’t cover bruises. Professional make up artists in movies are able to cover tattoos and I’ve see make up formulated to cover birth marks and other skin issues. She is in the movie business and has worked with real make up artists. Not just people who work with department store make up.
Particularly when she says that she used the color correcting kit AFTER foundation. Unless you want green and peach streeks on your face, you wouldn't use that over foundation

When was Depp abused physically? There is one reference to whether or not she was punching or hitting him. The rest is him abusing her physically or mentally coercing Heard. Four of his own witnesses saw her injuries: Lloyd, Falati, King and Anderson.

A concussion from one punch from a guy of Johnny's stature? He should've totally had that deposit tested. Her makeup lesson with the kit that wasn't released until 2017. All highly unlikely. His PR machine was staying as private as possible. If she wanted to be left alone she wouldn't have written the oped. If she cared about the ACLU and children's hospital at all she'd have allowed JD to make the donation on her behalf regardless of whether he got a tax break. Pure vindictiveness to do anything otherwise. Any actress with her face would've undoubtedly gone to the doctor immediately if their nose was broken.
She extorted this man ! He had addiction problems and didn't want that to get out and she knew that. She took pictures of Johnny in vunerable situations so that she could maintain control and "secure the bag" in case Johnny ever tried to leave or make her and her freeloading friends leave.
She was also an addict but Johnny never photographed her because he stood absolutely nothing to gain from doing that and he actually cared about Amber and loved her. He thought she loved him until the abuse begun. Amber being the manipulative narcissist that she is had everyone in her circle believing her exaggerating bullsh*t stories to gain even more leverage against Johnny.
No doubt Johnny probably snapped eventually after being hit and punched and pushed around like a dog. He probably got tired of the name calling and taunting also. As he reacted to that it probably came out in anger ( hence the cabnets being punched in the kitchen)
Amber has built a complete fabricated and exacerbated story picking parts out of her abusive childhood trauma in which her mother was abused by her father and adding them to her storytelling about Johnny. Johnny isn't jealous of Amber doing auditions , he knows how crooked Hollywood can be and was protecting her from these sketchy back room producers that would lead her into things that could destroy her career. He couldn't help Amber because she was never with him for that reason. She wanted his fame , and she wanted his lifestyle. When he laid down boundaries, she turned more and more aggressive and violent. She grew even more manipulative. She learned how to be this way from her dad doing it to people her whole childhood. Amber has led so many people to believe her lies including her own damn self !!!
I don't believe for a second this is true and if he did ever get violent with Amber , it's because she kept attacking him brutally and even cut his damn finger off !!! I'm sure by this point he was finished being polite .

THANK YOU! I highly suggest that before anyone make a statement concerning this that they:
(A) listen to the many audio recordings of their conversations that had been made for their marriage counseling; Johnny is always calm and doesn't even raise his voice while Amber (who has Borderline and Narcissistic PD) is screaming at him and admitting that she can't and won't stop physically attacking him (punching, slapping, throwing pots, pans, bottles, cans at him and she even shattered and severed his finger) and she demands that he NOT LEAVE her presence while she's doing these things to him. In these recordings neither Johnny nor Amber EVER say that Johnny commits any DV at all, I was shocked at his ability to maintain composure and actually continue to try to work things out with her. He does not remove her from her family and friends, but rather invites them to live in luxury penthouses on the same floor with them - unfortunately the friends and sister show their appreciation by corroborating Amber's false testimony in court. Johnny's only fault was thinking that he could help fix a horribly toxic narcissist who refused to change her behavior.
(B) Go to the youtube channel called "Live Abuse Free" and watch the episodes that this Australian mental health professional did on this case. I've never seen anyone do a more clear and concise analysis, and I've watched almost every one you can find on TH-cam. There had been an expert witness during the trial, a forensic psychologist named Dr. Shannon Curry, who spent a couple of days with Amber and administered extensive interviews and psychological testing - she came to the conclusion that Amber had Cluster B personality disorders (Borderline and Histrionic,) but on the "Live Abuse Free" youtube page the psychologist adds Narcissistic personality disorder to Amber's afflictions. Amber's behavior squares with that of a classic narcissist, but you really need to listen to the personal conversations between Amber and Johnny that are available to see the full picture of just how extreme she was and how Johnny continued to try in vain to help her, only to have her blackmail him by threatening to falsely accuse him of being the abuser rather than herself. (there's a letter in evidence showing her outlandish financial demands.) She obviously went through with her threat.

His counsel likely advised him not to look or stare at her, as this could be considered intimidation in light of the circumstances. At the outset, I didn't understand the rationale behind this trial ... Now, I believe that this man has already won, regardless of the trial outcome. The lies have been exposed.
Tape was played in court. During their last meeting she begged him to hold her. He said he would not look at her, and "You will never see my eyes again". That's why he won't look at her. When questioned by Johnny's attorney about him not looking at her she stated " He can't look at me"

She has the nerve to say he "can't" look at her because, as with any narcissist, it suits her completely false view of reality. She is truly being exposed for who she is, and her outward beauty can't begin to compensate for the ugliness that resides within her.
I disagree with you about his eyes statement and being seen as vindictive. I believe it resonates with those who have experienced great betrayal, abuse. To not give the perpetrator the satisfaction of your attention, the opportunity to convey feelings thru the eyes, and lack of control over you (esp in Amber's case) would feel like a victory, a boundary you are in control of. Probably a much needed one at that point in time.

he lost his role because he was constantly shitfaced and late on set. he also lost the uk trial where it was concluded that she was abused at least 12 times out of 16. he was not the victim. the "therapist" who "diagnosed" her with bpd is not even certified by the board, and "diagnosed" her after just a few hours with her. diagnosing bpd takes weeks/months. even if she had bpd, that would not mean she wasn't abused, in fact, bpd is not something you are born with. it's a consequence of prolonged abuse. it doesn't make you a crazy abuser. and it might even be "proof" of depp's abuse, if we're using that "diagnosis" to show that there was abuse.

I absolutely disagree with you regarding Johnny Depp’s refusal/inability to look at Amber Heard. I support victims of crime, which includes court support and supporting victims of both domestic violence and sexual violence. In my experience, victims almost never are able to look at the perpetrator in court. We actually use a screen in court so that they don’t have to ever see them at all.
Your ability to assign the worst possible motives to everyone involved in this battle for truth and fairness is disconcerting, and very reductive. Consider that one reason this trial appeals to so many people is because we have all suffered some sort of unfairness and/or slander in our lives that we may have felt powerless to fight. Johnny is one of the fortunate ones who actually can. Besides money, it does takes tremendous courage. Who would elect to air all of their dirty laundry in public like this to achieve fairness and truth? Very few people. But the world would be a better place if more people would fight the good fight do everything in their power to expose and disempower harmful liars and manipulators. As a survivor of SA (graphic content) and I've said this on multiple platforms and I'll keep saying it, a bottle hurts you differently no matter the shape especially dry. It causes tears, blood, it's painful and you can't walk. You will probably get an infection and the outer labia and clit is so bruised you will prefer to vomit your pee. If she said that's where she put ice, I'd at least believe her. Yes Johnny Depp is a drug addict, mean and used obscene language. But that is what is not on trial. He’s not the one who’s not letting it go AH went to file a restraining order, she apparently tipped off the media about their divorce, wrote an oped painting him as an abuser, and was a revealed in the trial that she was gonna sue him first. And if the jury thinks that a man no matter his wealth is fighting to save his reputation and to like she put it “tell the world he was a victim of domestic abuse”, is wasting everyone’s time, they can go to hell.

She said she tried to help him come clean, yet she brought several other, substance using people (her friends) into the house (like her sister, who, according to AH, "taught Johnny how to snort cocaine through a tampon applicator").

According to his sister, their mother used to abuse her, Johnny and the father not only by being angry and violent, but also by giving them mean names to mock them. She called Johnny "one eye" because of an eye patch he wore for correcting a lazy eye. So eye contact might be a sensible aspect for him anyway.
And during their fights he tried to retreat, hide in bath- and bedrooms, to end or have a break from their fight, but AH followed him and kept confronting him. She couldn't bear him interrupting their arguments and kept forcing him back into the fights again and again.
Him saying "You will never see my eyes again" could in my opinion be a way to take his power back and away from her. She can't control him or the situation any longer, and he denies her access.
That she instrumentalizes eye contact we can clearly see from her staring the jury down constantly, and the way her gaze changed, whenever Johnny Depp's attorney angered her.

Every person on this planet, who has ever been accused of doing something they didn't do, will understand, why Johnny can't "just" move on. If somebody called you a wife-beater this could ruin your whole life. So if you are not a wife-beater you better get up and fight those accusations. She had 13 months between when she received the final payment in her divorce settlement and when she was sued by JD. She had PLENTY of time to keep her pledges by ACTUALLY donating the money. A 7M divorce settlement for 1 1/2 years of marriage is a WINDFALL ....not a "settlement".

Thank you. They were not even married very long. She certainly did nothing to increase his career success. And IF she made any "sacrifices" they seem overshadowed by all the money and gifts he gave her friends and family. That whole thing about her guilt-tripping him about not waiting for her to take off his own boots, really disgusts me. So controlling and also twisted. I'd never let her take off my boots ever again after that. It's weird and sad but such an exasperating red flag indicating that she has no idea what respect and love actually are. Let us not forget that even Wynona Rider who was very young when they dated, and other women have nothing negative to say about Johnny Depp. It would be easy for an ex-wife or girlfriend to offer something cryptic or tactful to the press indicating Johnny's need to grow or be more consistent or get healthier habits or develop communication skills had he been abusive to them.

I believe that Johnny is fighting for his reputation. Seem’s like she’s out of control and very phoney, and clearly a very experienced liar.
I think that most people know that they should never look crazy people in the eye, because it just sets them off. When and if Johnny said he wouldn't look Amber in the eye was just common sense and good judgement and might have avoided multiple fights. Johnny may be very wealthy, but he is well known and he feels that he needs to protect his reputation for the sake of posterity. After all, he does have several children and other close relatives who may be physically, psychologically or economically harmed by lies made about Johnny. Johnny's wealth is invested in multiple large business operations, which employee many hundreds of ordinary people, who need their jobs to support themselves and their families. If Amber is, indeed, lying and people feel that she should be allowed to get away with it due to Johnny's wealth, then the ancillary damage to Johnny's lower middle class employees is deemed to be acceptable. The court system has been created as a means of resolving disputes in an objective and non-violent way and it should be available to anyone irrespective of whether they have great or modest wealth.

I’m surprised at what I did not hear from you Dr. Grande. I don’t have your formal education, but I am a survivor of emotional and physical abuse. It was intensely painful to share my story and she does not display the gut wrenching pain and agony real survivors experience. She is not the victim in this relationship and may I add she’s a terrible actress.
The one thing that no one has seemed to be reinforced in the matter is that "we" believed Amber. It was she that "betrayed" our trust and was deemed disingenuous. She betrayed the trust of allies out there, she betrayed the Me Too movement and disrespected true abuse victims out there.

Dr G… This is one of the few times I have to disagree. I found Amber’s testimony to be unbelievable on so many levels. Furthermore, the lack of actual physical evidence consistent to her allegations in conjunction with the audio and video recordings… Can’t imagine any juror could find her position credible. I see your point here, I REALLY do, and I agree in their particular situation. HOWEVER, having been there myself, MANY women/people being abused DO have a lot of love for their abuser, and can and do speak highly of them often, for many different reasons. Sometimes to protect them, or out of fear, out of denial, or out of genuine love despite the abuse. I myself have done this for all those reasons, and I know personally the VERY complex emotions that can happen in a DV situation. My husband and I got married and had our first Baby at age 18, had been dating 2 years before that. He was the kindest, most gentle, loving, caring, hardworking person I'd ever known. EVERY best quality a human could have. For years, he never even raised his voice or had been unkind to me at all, we didn't even argue. He treated me better than a Queen and did EVERYTHING for me, made me feel so special and taken care of. The first 8-10 yrs of our marriage was mostly pure bliss, truly, despite the hardships of being married and parents at such a young age and having to build up from having nothing. He had a bit of a temper sometimes but never really out of control and he never treated me in a scary or really disrespectful way. And then he changed. His Mom and 3 sisters are Bi-Polar, and it seemed to start coming out in him around age 27. He would blow up in EXTREME rages more and more often- I have patched so many holes in every room and door in my house where he has caused damage and destruction. He hurt me badly, many different times. It got worse and worse- but this was the love of my life, my soulmate, and I was SO CONFUSED. I still talked VERY highly of him, and thought highly of him mostly- I just thought of him as the same person I'd always loved, but just with a sickness that wasn't his fault. Abusive situations can REALLY mess with your head! I was also in denial a lot about how bad it truly was. I had always trusted him COMPLETELY, so if he hurt me, I thought I MUST have deserved it in some way. I trusted his judgement over mine. We have been separated now for about 4 months. All I'm saying here is that I've seen so many people make generalizations about abuse in this case. I was very afraid of him, and I acted like JD, always trying to get away from his aggression, protecting him like JD protected AH when he lied about how he hurt his finger to protect her. Some people hate their abuser, and that's PERFECTLY fine. I've wished so often I could Hate mine even. Would make things easier. But since often people fall deeply in love with someone before the abuse ever begins, sometimes it doesn't even start until YEARS into a relationship such as in my case, often the person is the Father or Mother of your children which makes you care about them even more- all this makes things much more complicated than just saying everyone should hate their abusers or that no one would speak highly of their abuser or ask them to come home, etc. But I do agree with the bulk of your comment, and I'm "team Johnny", as I feel it's obvious how aggressive and manipulative and what a liar and user Amber Heard is! Men, or anyone, falsely accused have a legal right to pursue legal action against the accuser. And this is important because people who make false accusations, of any degree, should be shown consequences. There are many men living this nightmare and nowhere near the ability of JD to fight back. This is monumental. That's why you're seeing men and women come together against AH. It's actually very sad and upsetting to see how many people have lived through abuse like this. I feel less alone but in a heartbreaking way...

I think women are more likely to not "get justice" for being abused than men, but only because women are physically abused more than men.. When a man is accused he is guilty until proven innocent..to be fair, chances are it did occur if it gets to court, but an innocent man doesn't have much to stand on when accused even if it doesnt go beyond the police, sadly.

AH is just another evil person exploiting a judicial bias! You are already guilty in these situations, and you must basically prove your innocence… So enraging… And horrifically costly! Both financially, and emotionally…

She would even gloat after, and profit off her cruel deception! She savoured the attention she got from the “me too” movement! She lied, and loved the lie she was living! She did irreparable harm to the “me too” movement, and even tho I disagree with how the “me too” movement failed to say that women need to be taken seriously when making claims of abuse, but that should exist along side requiring evidence m, due process, and being innocent until proven guilty! By ignoring those rules, and allowing someone like AH to become a figurehead of the movement, has done irreparable harm to not only the biased movement, but to women truly being abused!
By not standing up for due process and innocent until proven guilty, the movement has suffered a major credibility problem… And those that suffer the most from this are the women truly being abused! It’s horrible to witness! I want women to never be ignored or attacked for reporting DA! I want them to be taken seriously, and have their situation rigorously investigated, but I never want someone accused of DA to be guilty until proven innocent! We must remove bias on both sides! I disagree about Johnny keeping the "I'm Never going to look at you again" thing to himself. The reason, I think, he brought it up, is because right before the week that was taken off, Depp and Heard put out PR statements, Heard's was petty, but in it, it referenced Depp not being able to look at her because he was ashamed and knew what he did to her and can't bring himself to look at her. But if JD did look at AH, the jury could think that Depp is trying to intimidate her. Witnesses intimidation is a real thing and juries hate that, obviously. Lol.

The biggest lesson to learn is that you CAN'T CHANGE your partner to fit your needs. I pray we don't loose Johnny Depp to substances some day as we've lost too many of the greats!! Since the beginning of this trial, I've been worried about him. However, her personality does not lend well to being worried about her. Too bad for her.... We all struggle with our own demons and I think we all pray Johnny has conquered his at this point in his life and we won't loose him like so many other AMAZING actors of his time.
And, the difference in age and developmental MATURITY leads me to think that Ambers needs were a completely different developmental level than Johnny, who is confident in his personality and as a person I don't think Amber was. He grew up in a society where he owned a night club in Hollywood where substances were the norm and so he's lived through several friends and co-workers overdosing and has a lot of personal pain from these experiences. I also can't fathom someone thinking they can CHANGE their partner, especially when Johnny is well developed as a person & his role has become that of a funny, counter culture type like Hunter S Thompson and Amber was not ready for that level of commitment to loving him as he was. Of course some things I do believe like Johnny admitting he became jealous sometimes (she was much younger and prob used jealously to her advantage to punish him for what behaviors she didn't like, like being drunk,) and of course drunk people do stupid reckless things. I've met too many hypocrite's who use drugs too then point the finger at another substance user. NO ONE WILL EVER STOP USING SUBSTANCES because some pretty woman or man wants them to. It's amazing he even agreed to try, for her! Probably because she wouldn't stop taking pics of him in an opiate induced stupor in order to blackmail him later or embarrass him later. I don't agree on the won't look in the eyes analysis. When you snap out of a codependent relationship involving manipulation and abuse, you don't want to look them in the eyes because, deep down, you're scared they'll somehow manage to manipulate you again and get to you. There is definitely anger and disgust, and if you ever feared for your life there will be that kind of fear as well, but in this case I think it's plain fear you won't be able to pursue whatever you're doing to distance yourself from them. They can still manipulate you through talking but watching you in the eyes is their best bet on getting back in control. By refusing to let them to watch you in the eye you're saying "nope, that's it, I know what you're doing and I'm done with letting you in to twist my codependent disposition to your advantage". Someone who was manipulated from someone in that way knows it's basically detoxing to get away from it and you only hope you'll be strong enough to do that. They won't risk getting weak or the manipulative circus will start again.
*trigger warning - sorry* After my SA I couldn't stand, sit or walk or anything really, I felt sick even looking at myself in the mirror. At the police station they took pictures of my private area, Dr noted I'd been torn down there, they still didn't convict him because they argued my injuries could've been "rough sex", I have been overboard keeping evidence of everything in my life since as nobody will ever doubt something like that again! There's no way she avoided medical support if she experienced a bottle down there! It's painful, not just pressure!! I hate her for lying about this, I hate anyone who lies about abuse for money!

I have been keeping up with the progress of this trial and what has been revealed about this incredibly toxic relationship. Yes, Johnny was dealing with addiction, but as I listen to the recordings of the arguments it's clear he is the one who remains calm, reasonable, and makes multiple attempts to tamp the situation down. Amber, conversely, amps up the anger with horrible insults, demands, and even chases him around the house when he has had enough and tries to get away from her. She admits she cannot control her anger, admits to attacking him physically , and says she cannot promise to not resort to physical attacks on Johnny in the future. She is a shrew, harridan, and in my opinion intended to set him up for their entire marriage (15 months), evidenced by her recording so many of their arguments, even videoing them. She deliberately tried to provoke him to hit her as part of the plan for a huge divorce settlement and then joining in the "Me Too" movement as their poster-girl.It didn't work, so she went ahead with plan "A" and accused him anyway. In my opinion.

I disagree that they will agree with her about Johnny “not letting it go”. After the divorce he did let it go. We went on to be in other movies and did not talk about their relationship. SHE on the other hand sold the story in articles and even sold videos and audio to TMZ. How is that moving on? Didn’t they agree not to blame one another and release a video about a mutual, non abusive divorce supposedly at her insistence? Seems more like she knew she would fade into background of a B list celebrity without him and therefore used abuse to her advantage. They are there because he lost millions after she published those articles, therefore whatever consequences come about it (ie getting sued) are consequences she chose and was warned about multiple times as seen in many emails where he op-Ed was denied because publishers knew it was defamation.

This trial seems unnecessary? I have to disagree there. Women that take advantage of their protected status and lie about being abused need to be punished as badly as a man would have in response to the woman’s false claims. That protected status is a form of power.
What protected status? What did Amber gained from all of this? A divorce settlement? She would get it no matter what.
She didn't press charges against Johnny and she signed a non disclosure agreement when they divorced. I don't know if Disney dropped him after the op-ed (that doesn't mention him at all) but he kept on working. He was casted for Fantastic Beasts and what made him lose face was an article published by the UK tabloid "the sun" that called him a wife beater.
Johnny decided to sue the newspaper and Amber was called to testify so all these audios and dirty laundry were aired because Johnny decided to go on a public trial in the UK.
And now, again, he's going on another public trial so air more dirty laundry.
So, yes. Going on court against "the sun" opened room for breaking the "non disclosure agreement" and he had his own records of the relationship so she wasn't the only one keeping tabs.
After the UK trial many accounts started a campaign of cleaning up Johnnys Deep image and burning Amber.
He knows that Amber doesn't have the money to pay him if she wins and he honestly doesnt care because all he wants is totally destroy her and possibly drive her to commit suicide. That's all.
