- The Canik Elite is a Turkish made pistol which borrows heavily from the Walther PPQ which is an excellent pistol. It is affordable, reliable, has an excellent trigger and great sights. Even in its 5th Editions, few improvements have been made to enhance the Glock 19. You really can't go wrong with either pistol but you do get more for your money with the Canik.

Have owned several Sigs, bought a TP9SF Elite for an inexpensive option. Out of the box I fired one of the tightest groups I’ve ever shot at 15&25 yards. Great ergonomics, I’m totally sold on this weapon.
I am extremely pleased with all my Canik pistol models. Currently, I own the Canik METE SFT, the METE SFx, the METE SFT PRO, the Rival Darkside, and, a couple of weeks ago, I found a great deal on an used TP9 SF, another addition. *They are THAT good.*
The Rival and Mete Pro triggers are insane !

@@RedEyePergo I never wanted to get a 5 inch barrel pistol until I saw the rivals! oh my god, those guns shoot so extremely flat and I definitely want the steel version. But thats out my budget until I get my credit up hahaha cuz i dont have $1000 just to spend on a gun. I'd probably opt for a Mete before I get the rival but thats definitely on the goal list. That gun looks insanely accurate and flat, not to mention it's one of the BEST looking guns I have ever seen. That shit is SEXY
I purchased this handgun as my first, suggested by a client, late last year. I made a great choice! The trigger is amazing, and is definitely sensitive (light). A couple of gun instructors gave it positive comments at classes. I have fired over 400 rounds now, and have had no issues. I'm looking at placing a red dot sight on it, but as I learn to shoot it with the iron sights only, it's helping me to build confidence using this pistol.

Try the red dot as well I mastered shooting my sc with Irons than got a dot n I swear now that I’ve been using the dot it has made me better with my irons it’s fun tho the red dot it has a learning curve but it’s fun sight acquisition becomes a lot faster
I've got the base model Canik SF. Love everything about it! It just plain works well for me. Never liked the Glock ergonomics'. So I owned a Springfield XD instead. I used to joke the Springfield was an improved Glock. Now Canik has raised the bar from Springfield. Very impressed!

I'm a TP9SF Elite owner, I purchased this gun a year or so ago, and I love it. With Canik you get a lot accessories for the money, not just the gun and an extra mag.

My blue label Glock 19 gen 5 was around $460 and the all black One series Canik TP9SF Elite with one mag cost $274. Pretty solid good feeling piece for a substantial savings. Agree with your opinion.
Thanks for your post. I picked up the CANIK TP9SF about a month ago and I've very pleased with it. Mine came with 2, 18 round magazines. The trigger is incredible.
My Canik and Stoeger are hard to beat. They always shine at the range.

I love my canik’s.
The Mete series allows cowitness which is my only complaint on the Canik you reviewed. The pocket takes the rear site off of the SFx version my sight on my sc has a rear sight built into it so love the red dot especially as my eyes get older ;)

I have the TP9 SF Elite and the Mete MC9 and absolutely agree on the trigger. Best of all the pistols I own. Great review.

I prefer my Canik Tp9sfx, and Tp9sa over a Glock. They are the best all around pistol. I never had any issues with them, very accurate, great triggers. I fired several Glocks, not a bad pistol, but fell a little short of the hype.

I myself own a TPS 9 elite and it's been an amazing gun. No problems with it whatsoever. Very accurate in. Definitely the most bang for your buck on this one
I bought the TP9SFX with the Vortex for my son. A few months later I bought another with the white frame. In July, I bought the Rival Darkside and next week I'm getting the TP9 Elite Combat Executive. I have shot Glocks, and I will never own one. I'll take the Caniks all day long. Better triggers, better sights, better barrel, better ergonomics, more features for less money. You will never go wrong with the Canik. They are extremely accurate and so much fun to shoot.
What makes the barrel better?

I own 2 Caniks and very pleased with both of them. I prefer the trigger on the Caniks to the Glock 19x. Still not sure if I prefer it to my Sig 320; depends on the day. Sights on the Canik are far superior to the Glock. And yes…you get a lot more for your money with the Canik.

Just got a Canik TP9SFF and it's pretty nice. Thinking about selling my Glock 19 and getting the elite for conceal carry.
I own both. Canik shoots better. Glock has more available parts in stores.

I've got several Caniks and thousand's of rounds with no issues. The Canik trigger is top of the line in the striker fire game and the reset is awesome. You would have to send your Glock off to get the trigge upgraded and the sights upgraded to compare to the cheaper Canik..

I admit being a glock owner ! The Canik has a lighter trigger and a heavier upper slide for better recoil for better accuracy on target!! The Canik would be a good choice for price and when you purchase a Canik it comes with soooooo many assessories like Warren sights of different colors,with pistol grip for large and small hands,a cleaning barrel tube and a holster!!!!! If your a first time pistol gun owner , TRY CANIK TPSF9 ELITE because you cant beat the prices for all the features it has too offer ...
I can give just as many, if not more reasons to own the CZ line, Smith&Wesson M&P line, HK line, and others!!! I'm a never Glock person for different reasons!!!

I'd suggest CZ, SIG or Walther. Didn't care for the HK or Smith. Never owned a Canik.
@@FoulPet you might ought to try the Caniks I own one, and have tried many others; they are very well built, have great triggers, sights, and one of the best barrels on the market if not the best for the money, very reasonably priced, and have a wide range of options as far as carry, plinking, and competition!!!
I’ve got the tp9 sfx and am very happy with it. It’s had at least a couple thousand rounds through it of several different brands and weights including hollow points without a malfunction. Accurate out of the box, ergonomic and a lot of bang for your buck. My only complaint is that during a four day defensive pistol course it wore the skin off of my thumb knuckle which I hear the mete has taken care of. Great pistol that’s starting to have a large aftermarket selection of upgrades
Did you do the course at Front Sights? I have completed the same training.

I have a Glock 19 Gen 5 and a Canik TP9SF and a Canik Rival. I love all 3. Very serviceable pistols. I definitely agree that Canik has a better trigger making it a better shooter than the Glock. Caniks are very smooth shooters. The bang for your buck on the Canik is near impossible to beat. I plan to buy the Canik Rival Steel next and another one or two more Caniks before I even think about getting another Glock. They feel great in my hands too.
I am definitely picking up a Chrome Rival S to compare it to the Sig X5 Legion. Thanks for commenting.

I would pick Canik for sure. The trigger is amazing and guns shoot great. The take down is also so much easier than the Glock.

I agree with you about the triggers but I've had the timney triggers installed in both my 10 mil Glocks and the caniks trigger no longer compares they're much better
Keep it simple is the way!!! always ready and parts are never hard to find. Glock all the way.
I'm which you on that. I'm tried others pistols but I find myself coming back to Glock every time. These guys say other guns are better but they still want let go of their glocks. lol

Thank you for the comparison . I have a questions if you could answer . I recently got a Canik and I had the issue of the magazine release it gets stock whenever I pull it. I wonder what it is and how did you fix it? Since I have a block 19 and never that issue. Could tell me thank you
Remove the slide from the frame. Take a magazine and put a couple layers of painters tape around it. Take a blow dryers and heat the grip portion of the frame on the inside and outside of the grip. Once heated insert the magazine with the painters tape. Put the frame in the freezer for about an hour. Then remove the tape. This is how I fixed mine due to improper frame and mag fit. Haven't found an answer anywhere yet: Are magazines proprietary to the Canik, or does it take other pistols' mags?
Usually magazine are specific to brands, sometimes others will be interchangeable.
For Canik at least tho, only Canik magazine will work or magazines advertised to fit Caniks(if you can find them). However, all Canik mags can be used with any Canik firearm with the exception of compact sized mags, they will be too short for the full-size grip models, but full size mags will work with any of their compact/sub comp models
Never had an issue with my TP9SF nor my Taurus G2C. Not a Glock fan.

I simply didn't have any luck with my first canik. Failure to eject, failure to fire no matter what type of amo I ran through it. After replacing the spring and problem persisted I switched to Sig p365x . 3k rounds later it's still going strong.
I had an issue and corrected it by going with a heavier load or tightening my grip on my right hand.
@@jack12win tried everything. All the way up to 147 grain and replaced the spring. Just wasn't worth the headache anymore

Compact is relative to 40 years ago.
Today people hear compact. And think pocket or subcompact.
Years ago pistols or revolvers were sizable.
Today that is not so much an issue, even for revolvers.
I own both of these pistols. And would recommend both.
So here is the thing.
If you have little budget and want a good pistol. Buy the Canik.
If you have more to spend and or plan on improving your pistol, go Glock. Glocks have a plethora of options. The Canik while a good pistol has almost no options for upgrading compared to Glocks.
In my younger days, I despised two things.
iPhones and Glocks.
Today I understand how wrong I was.
Glock are good guns they just never felt right to me went through 12 guns And 8 wmyears later the canik tp9sf and the tp9 elite SC fits me best the others I checked out are grest but I got one that fit fit me best considering I have short stubby girlie hans
You realize the Canik Mete has been out for a while now it has a better trigger , rmsc optic cut and better frame than the elite

I have a Glock 19 Gen 4 night sites with several mags.. and Love it.. I also have a P320 with night sites in 45acp.. again several magazines... I dont see buying a Canik would benefit me at all.

Loved shooting my Canik, but the Glock is lighter, thinner and easier to take apart to clean and repair. Yes they're ugly with a crappy trigger. But the more that I dry fire and shoot the Glock, the trigger has become lighter.

Used to shoot reloads through my HK USP45 with no problems. Never shot more than a few clips of them before switching back to regular ammo. I do think that it affected accuracy some but smoothed right out after several rounds. There wasn't much of an internet at the time

Glock is more reliable, ive had multiple caniks and had problems out of all of them. My glocks have been 100 percent reliable. The trigger on canik is dangerously light for edc imo. I like canik for range toys but id choose glock to trust my life with
I can't argue against that. My Glocks have always been very reliable even with the worst ammo.

Both are great. I prefer my Glock, it’s lighter and thinner which helps with concealment. I agree out of the box canik shoots better and has better trigger. Just prefer the lightness and slimmer profile of. Glock 48
I agree. If I was going to carry one it would be the Glock 19. I have a Glock 43X and like it as well. Just wish Glock would put a larger capacity magazine for it and the 48.

That is true and I often run a G34 in Carry Optics when also shooting PCC for that reason.

All of Canik’s pistols are way better than any Gluck. To me all Glucks are junk. You have to replace everything on a gluck at the cost of a thousand or more just to get it to shoot as great as a 400 dollar Canik.

learn all the time. But, this "Compact" gun stuff is foolish. A Glock 19 is a full size hand gun, that's it. I don't know when this sizing of came about but it's idiotic, only my opinion. A compact gun is small.
For instance, a S&W 5-shot Chief's Special .38 cal revolver was compact. A full size M&P duty Revolver was just that full size.
A compact gun should be comfortable for everyone to carry concealed. So if your 5' tall or 6'6" tall a full size gun could be considered compact for the large person not for the 5' person.

The manufacturers started the classification of the firearms. The Glock 17 was the full sized pistol so Glock called the 19 a compact. The market leader drives the terminology.

Here is a great reason to not buy the Canid. Availability of parts such as magazines. Mags for this gun are not readily available locally. You can find the odd one now and then but not very often. Glock mags and parts are readily available all over town and from numerous online sources. For the Canid---not so much.
All new guns are based off a glock making the superior to anything else. Glock is the standard. Complain complain complain....

You can’t beat a Glock but there’s a lot of great hand guns. The shape, size of your hands have makes a difference on what’s the best for you. Glock is known for it’s dependability. S&W, Colt, it’s whatever you can afford. It’s in the eye of the beholder. A great marksman makes the difference.

Price would be the only reason to buy Canik over a Glock. The Caniks are now priced close enough to Glocks price to make it foolish to not spend a little more and get the Glock. However I do own a Canik and it is a fine gun also, but until they get 30 years of my confidence I would choose a Glock between the two,
got my canik tp9sf elite last week for $295. $315 out the door after tax, Glocks in my area are $450+ used, I got my canik for damn near cheaper than a taurus g3c

Including a bunch of shit in the box doesn't equal a damn thing and idk why you believe you need to spend and extra 300 after purchasing something that is solid as is when you buy it. I can make this comparison because I've owned multiple versions of both manufacturers.

You could talk about upgrading glocks lightweight guide rods as well as base plates if u wanna talk about everything. They're good guns for sure but the caniks are a better gun all around when comparing. Ide still take my cz p10c over both. But this is all subjective if u like the glocks good for you. I think my all time fav carry that I go back and forth on is a mr920 from shadow which is just a upgraded glock I'm sure ur aware and the p 10c
