Canik TP9 SF Elite

  • I have said goodbye to all my Glocks and upgraded to the Canik TP9 SF Elite. In my opinion Glocks are outdated striker fired pistols in the modern world, and instead of creating new products and listening to the needs and requests of todays shooter they simply keep producing the same 1980s-1990s pistol. Yet they say they are perfection….
I’m done with Glocks, and have found a new go-two
    Striker fired carry pistol.

TPSF Elite is the best pistol out of the box I ever shot and that includes the Sig 220 series, CZ 75 series and S&W. No break in period, handles every grain, brand...I've tried to see if it would fte, ff shooting terrible mismatched ammo without any problems. Unbelievable accuracy with a great trigger of 4.5 pounds...by my chair always for home defense but I do carry it concealed also. Did put night sights on it. Great pistol at any price much less $400.00.

Just ran across your channel! Just want to say my two absolute favorite pistols that are the only two in my EDC rotation at the moment are my Canik TP9 Elite Combat and my Walther PDP. I carry my Canik when I want to carry iron sights and my Walther when I want to carry with my optic. I’ve been a fan of Walther for many many years now, and I actually sometimes prefer my Canik. It’s such a great shooter and the trigger is absolute gold! Very solid wall, very crisp, zero creep break and the reset has a tactile feel that I love. I know Canik’s are somewhat of a Walther copy. So obviously they chose an incredible gun to model theirs after. And as good as my Walther trigger is, I think the Canik is just a little bit nicer. At least the Elite Combat is because everything is polished and pre-broken in. Not to mention it has an aluminum, flat faced trigger. Salient Arms upgrades out of the box.

Thank you for your video is verry detailed and informative , yes I too believe the Canik TP9SF is a good pistol with alot of features for the prices that the glock doesn't have !! I have fired 200 rounds with no issues and its a bit heavy but it works on the recoil ... Amazing pistol !!!

I still haven't made the plunge into the Canik tp9 series, but everyone I know of thats at least shot them, raves about how good they are, I'll probably pick one up as well to try it out, there's quite a few models to suit everyone's needs.

The Turks are making excellent pistols. I especially recommend Tisas 1911s. My favorites are the 1911A1 US Army clone, and the Raider M45A1 clone of the Marine Corps last 1911.

Drawback with Canik right now finding replacement parts, try finding a extractor assembly for a Canik SFx Rival? No one has them in stock, don't have that issue finding Glock parts. The Sig Sauer P320 because of past safety issues won't allow anyone to train with it, same for any firearm that had serious safety issues. What one carries afterwards is up to them but I would choose any modular striker firearm by Sig Sauer. For Canik they are excellent handguns at a very good price but need to make replacement parts more accessible to the consumer . Two thumb forward grip causes more malfunction than any other method, it's okay for target practice but not defensive shooting.

That is a narrative that has been overhyped by many in the LEO community. Had mine for almost two years shooting it constantly. It never went boom by itself. If that were the case the military would not have gone long on it. That cop had a whoopsie and blamed it on the gun because it was very public and he was on the spot. Negligent discharge. But I can't complain. Because one Officer sold his to me, a P320c Pro with the flat trigger for $425 barely shot with no barrel markings. Works for me. They did the same thing to the Beretta 92 after on SF operator got hurt after using not just NATO ammo but SMG overpressured ammo for a long time. Blame the gun.

I’m very curious to see how this stacks up against Canik’s own Mete SF. A refreshed model that isn’t clear as to what was updated besides maybe the trigger and grips…🤷‍♂️

👍👍 I’ve done a bit of the opposite. I ended up adding more Glocks to my inventory. Couple of G29 Gen 4’s, a Gen 5 G23, a G30S, and a G36. The two 45’s actually get a fair amount of my attention. The G23.5 still needs to get an optic cut and a holster made for it. But it’s a huge improvement. It’s the way Glock should have always made their 40’s. I do plan to pick up a G20.5 & 21.5 MOS.

The Glock 30s is hands down my favorite Glock. I really, really wish they would do a Gen 5 version. Thin slide, no finger grooves, bigger mag release, better trigger and front serrations….id buy it immediately

Never owned a Canik but everybody i know that owns one swears buy them. Also the new MC9 is supposedly a great edc choice. Im a 1911 guy, i own a few glocks and trust my life with them but i agree 100% with everything you said. Plastic sights have no business on a self defense firearm and the trigger and grip angle definitely need improvement. That being said i trust my Glock more than anything else that i own. Would definitely be nice to see Glock start listening to their customers.

I got rid of my glock 23 gen 5 as well. Traded it for a shield 2.0 40sw compact to have something else to carry.
But I've been regularly carrying a kimber micro 9 nightfall.

Well said about glocks. I’m similar size (6’3 280 pounds) no matter how much I try to get into glocks the grip angle throws me off they just don’t fit me right now hater. I’m definitely more of a vertical grip angle kinda guy

I know you were actually an Infantryman. Way off topic but does it bother you how many POGs on TH-cam pass themselves off as experts and offer military, basic training advice? I was Army Infantry 02-08 and it makes me crazy. I totally understand everyone has a job to do, but everyone chose their MOS. So many love the shine (not to mention Disability payments) of being a vet, but spent the time in the States, in an office, or on a big safe FOB. "Combat Deployment" is one of the most overused terms there is. Sorry man, just venting a ton of frustration.

blah, blah, blah,,, ANOTHER Glock bashing video. I want a Canik, and I'll most likely love it just as I love my Glocks, Springfield Armory's, M&P's, Para-Ordnance, Ruger LCP's, etc. I can love a gun brand without bashing another, Sorry, but this video took me there. Have a nice day.

  • @EmsDude

This guy literally spends his time bashing Glock. Careful TH-cam, just because he’s a “ firearms instructor” doesn’t mean anything. There’s a reason Glock has industry, but that shouldn’t matter. Just shoot the gun. I just hear excuses
